The night was a dark one.
The quarter moon shone gloomily in the heavens, and even the stars wore no glitter tonight. The dim, unwelcoming light that did reach the earth before the entrance of the tunnels shed an eerie aura about the place. If a mortal was to tread upon the place, the predictable emotion of regretful fear would flood over them, and no doubt coax the lycans in their dark abode to investigate.
And indeed a figure was approaching the entrance of the tunnels, but from the inside of them, and she was no mere mortal. But tonight she hid her true form under a cloak of silver, it's hood about her fine, shoulder-length hair, as stark as the glistening moon that hid itself behind clouds tonight. The lower trim of the cloak settled a little distance behind her, trailing delicately like her feet along the ground.
Clasped in her pale hands was a rolled peice of parchment, coated in writing of a silken-silver quill. It's rolled body was held together with a curl of lilac ribbon, the same shade in replica to her known irises, though missing the dappled flecks of silver. The ink inside played that part.
She went by the name of Rogue, and the lycans here knew her well. Perhaps not well enough to know her intentions tonight though, and it was very doubtful any of their souls knew the reason behind her opinionatedly impulsive actions and decision. Though should they read the parchment she now placed beside her stilled feet at the very entrance of the tunnels, they might have hope of attempting to understand.
Rogue reached into the pocket of her cloak and pulled forth a small bouquet of flowers, these flowers held two meanings. They were 'forget me not's', and this she wished so. Placing their stems inside the open end of the parchment she unhanded the goodbye and left it sitting at the entrance, untouched and held in place by the flowers, each flower for a lycan, perfect in total.
Her bare feet led her away, towards the forest and to intentionally far away lands, of which only her born direction knew. She was a rogue, directions and getting lost was not an issue for her. As her hood framed her beautiful face, glassy tears streamed in fragile waves down her modest cheeks, dampening her lips and dripping off her ever-so-lightly curved chin. She did not raise a hand to wipe them away.
As she drifted through the shadows, towards the horizon, with nought but confusion and love behind her, she cried silently, leaving behind a world she'd held so dear. Of all the times the lycans had followed her and cooed to her through open minds to stay, this time she would not allow it. Her skill of being a rogue lycaness was being put in place. This time she would leave no footprints for them to follow...
Dearest family, tunnel lycans.
I write to you tonight, thought it may be tomorrow by the time you place this in your hands or paws to lay eyes on, to tell you goodbye. There is a place for me in this world, as there is a heart I must follow. That heart being my own. In following words of deepest honesty I wish to bestow my love for you all, and my sincere goodbyes and apologies...
Morgana, though there have been times where out acknowledgement have meant no less or more than duty, I see you hold together this pack well. Your aura holds power, authority, and above all, honour to those you declare it fit to be touched by. I respect you deeply and thank you for accepting me into your clan.
Sealla, from the very beginning you have been here. You stand behind and before the tunnels as a sister to me and I know nothing will ever take that away. You hold unbreakable dignity in everything you do and say. Your words hold meaning and care for all that is close to you, and utter pride for all that is not. You are a strong shadow, and that is your true form. A shadow among shadows that stands tall when all else fades. You are my shadow, and this I thank you dearly for. I love you, sister.
Arsenic, I know your feelings for me, and do not for one moments hold thoughts that they are not returned on my behalf. Yes, it was love at first sight. You hold eyes of mercury that not even my heart could withstand, you are hot indeed and I did melt for you. And possibly still do. You will always be the closest at holding the key to my heart, do not give up hope for me, or anything you dream to discover. You too hold my love.
Amelia, my dear you are beautiful. I have not known you long but time is not an issue with the bond that I feel connects us. I feel you are like a neice to me, your gorgeously inquisitive attitude and carng eyes never cease to evoke my admiration. Keep your chin up darling and hold instinct near your heart, you have potential to grow into an amazing she-wolf, not that you aren't already in my eyes.
Xavier, I do not know you all that well, but I see many of your intentions and your goodwill. You care for Sealla dearly and that is enough to earn my respect. You hold a good position as the alpha male in this pack, look after your family and I pray you live well and happy.
Kage, what can I say? You are one to be studied. You are the character in this pack that knows how to put a smile on everyone's face, yet you still hold responsibility and an acute sense of care. You risked your life for me and for that you've earned my respect for life and I promise to repay you one day. Look after Amelia, I know you will.
Orca, you're my reminder that life is to be enjoyed. You're smile is utterly contagious and you're simply adorable both inside and out. I will miss those sloppy kisses you loved to share, but I will always carry a part of you with me, and I know you'll do the same for miss Rogue. I bid thee a sloppy goodbye.
Anne, you will always be my little girl. You managed to pick me up when times got rough, you're a strong one and when you're a lycan I know you'll make me and papa proud. Look after papa honey and don't ever lose your smile. I'll always be beside you whenever you need me.
And finally, to you all. I wish to thank you for accepting me as one of your pack. You gave me shelter, food and above all, you gave me love. I am leaving because of recent issues I have caused. The incident with the silver which I do not wish to explain in detail was my fault. It put the pack in danger and risked the life of two lycans that make this pack what it is, Sealla and Kage.
For this I am eternally sorry, but apologies are not enough. Another more personal confusion with emotions at hand has driven me to leave, I am sorry to Arsenic for what I have put him through but once again I feel an apology is not enough. I have resorted to leaving the lands, whether it be forever or an amount of time I have not decided.
Do not worry for me, I have done this much of my life, and this may possibly be for the rest of it. I wish Anne good luck with her turning, and Sealla and Xavier a wonderful wedding. I also congratulate Kage and Amelia and hope all remains better in the tunnels now that I am gone.
All I ask is that you do not follow and despite the pain I've caused, forget me not...
Deepest regards for now and forever,
·Rogue xx
