“So … we are supposed to find a … pub, called the … The Leaky Cauldron.”
Nenja looked around, hoping to see some sort of sign that could lead her. This was her first trip to London, and she could have been everywhere by now; Madame Toussaud’s, perhaps? But instead, she was wandering around, completely lost, looking for a pub. Her mum, Ronja, was much more tired than Nenja, maybe because she didn’t believe in the letter. At first, Nenja didn’t believe it either.
“Nen, dear Nen. Why can’t we just take the train back now?” “Mum, we haven’t found The Leaky Cauldron jet!” Her mum sighed. “Nen, can you please listen to me?”
Nenja swallowed heavily. Perhaps her mum was right? Perhaps they had come all this way, for nothing? A single mother’s payment should have been used for food, clothes … a whole lot of things … not the silly dreams of her only child. A stupid, dreaming child. Like Nenja.
They turned to leave, but then …
“Mum! There it is!”
They both turned, and Nenja pointed at the little pub across the street. They began walking towards it, but then her mum stopped.
“Are you sure of this?” “Mum … could you please try and believe me this time?” Ronja starred at her. “I’m sorry.” “Too late,” Nenja said, and walked into the pub. Her mum just stood there, and didn’t run after her. “I’ll go and … wait outside,” she said. “You know my mobile number.” Then she left, weeping, like her daughter.
Nenja felt so lonely. She walked into the Alley, and looked at the list she had got in the letter. So many things to buy … She wandered into one of the shops, and discovered something about the magical world: They didn’t use “muggle”-money.
She walked out of the shop, whit out buying anything. “What am I going to do now,” she whispered.

Krista was walking along, strutting her stuff as usual, with a pocketful of money clanging around loosely. She was ready to spend a lot of money on just about nothing useful. What else is money for?
Not paying attention, she almost knocked into a girl that had appararently stopped in the middle of the Aleey and was staring down the road. "Woah!" she said, stepping back.
"What are you doing?" she asked angrily.

“What?” Nenja turned around to face the one that was talking. “What I’m doing? I ... in fact, I don’t know. I’m ... new here.” An embarrassed silence followed.
Perhaps she can help me, Nenja thought. “This shops; they don’t use ... muggle money, do they?”

Krista scoffed. "Muggle money," she spat. "Of course not. Don't be ridiculous. Come on, I'll show you around. This is Diagon Alley," she explained and began comng. The girl stood and stared. "Coming or not?" she asked.
They began to walk down the street. Krista pointed out some things. "That's the apothecary, you can buy potion's stuff there. Gamble and Japes, the wizard joke store. Flourish and Bloots, you'll need to buy your school books here. Um...Quality Quidditch Supplies, for quidditch. Do you know what quidditch is?" Krista asked.

“Er ... Quidditch?” Nenja starred at the girl, “What’s ... Quidditch?”
Once again, an embarrassed silence followed. Now I’ve done it, Nenja thought; I have said something unbelievable stupid. Again. But how could she possibly know what Quidditch was?
Trying to forget the mistake, she said: “It’s really friendly of you to show me around.”

"Yeah sure," Krista said, shoving it off. "Well, you can't go to Magic Horizons not knowing 'bout Quidditch. It's out sport. Wizard sport."
She looked at the girl quickly. "We're going this way," she said, leading the girl towards Gringotts. "Gringotts. Wizard Bank."
"Anyways," she said, walking toward the marble white building looming in front of them, "Quidditch is played on broomsticks. There's seven players to a team. Three chasers, they pass a big red ball called the quaffle back and forth and try to shoot it through once of the three hoops on the edge of the quidditch field, or pitch. Each time it goes through one of the hoops, it's ten points to thier team."
"Then there's the keeper, who gaurds the goal posts. And then you have your beaters, who have wooden bats used to hit heavy balls that zoom through the air trying to unseat people and foul them. They're called bludgers," She continued. They had reached the building by now and were climbing the stairs.
"And then there's the seeker. Usually the smallest player on the team, and you have to be a good flier and have great eyes. The seeker has to catch a little gold ball that zooms around called the snitch. It's wicked fast and hard to see. the seeker who catches it for thier team wins the team an extra 150 points, so thye almost always win. And when the snitch it caught, the game ends. That's basically it."
Krista entered Gringotts. "My name's Krista, by the way, but I didn't catch yours."

“Oh, I’m Nenja. Nenja Shedestida. Very nice to meet you, Krista.” She looked around in the bank. It was huge, and seemed to be completely different from the normal banks. Not knowing what to do, she turned back to Krista. “Where do I change muggle money into ... wizard money?”

"We'll look around, I've never had to. I come from an old wizarding family, so we have all wizard gold. Hmm...let's try over here..."
Krista set off across the marble floor, and headed to the next available goblin. "Can we change muggle money here?" she asked. The goblin nodded and Krista turned back to Nenja.
"Give your money to the goblin."

”Goblin? What’s a -”
The goblin gave her an annoyed look. Nenja smiled embarrassed, then she handed the money to the goblin. Soon after, the money was replaced by some odd coins of gold, silver and bronze. Nenja studied them.
“So this ... is wizard money?” she asked, and the goblin nodded, now really annoyed. Nenja knew she had been asking a lot of questions this day. She checked the list from the letter. She needed a lot of things, but the shops would be easier to find, she thought. She turned to Krista; “Thanks a lot for your help,” she said, smiling, “I think I’ll manage to get the things I need now. I suppose I’ll meet you at school?”

"I guess so. You're sure you don't want me to help you get anything?" she asked, trying to be nice.
"And by the way, the gold ones are Galleons, the silver are sickles, and the little bronze ones are knuts."
She waited for Nenja's respsonse to her previous question. She didn't want to leave anyone all alone in the magical world and get lost and end up killing some muggle by accident or something.

"Whoa, whoa... no waaaaaay!" Hayzie shrieked. Hill control on the Hovermatic was something she was still getting used to. Panic had set in as soon as the wheelchair had begun its descent down the hill in Hogsmeade and hadn't seemed to leave since. Prodding her wand at various points on the control panel, the blonde haired girl scrunched her eyes shut and prodded one more time hoping for the best.
Luckily, the best happened. Seconds later, the Hovermatic was doing its job and hovering in the air, bringing a sigh of relief from the Gryffindor as she opened her eyes again. Unfortunatly for her, her lack of composure had been seen by two other girls. Going a little red with embaressment, Hayzie shot them a small smile.
"Nice day for shopping, don't you think?" she asked, her voice a little shaken as panic died down. "You're both from the school, right?"

"Yes, I am. I think Nenja here is new to the magical world. I'm Krista," she added. "Sorry, didn't catch yours."
She finally looked up at the girl. She had never seen her around school, which wasn't really odd, because there was so many kids at Magic Horizons.
