If Ashton Kutcher said breathing wasn't cool, 99.9% of the female population would be dead.

She blushed softly as she looked up at him again a small smile crossing her lips.
"Roz or Rozlynn, either is fine. it's a pleasure to meet you as well Ace."
Her face flushed a deeper crimson as he kissed her hand. Silently she held back a girlish sigh.

Ace grinned at the blushing girl. It had been a long while since he had managed a reaction like this from anyone... could be that he hadn't been out and about enough, or that he had simply stopped paying attention to the female population... or that a pair of glowing silver orbs seemed to watch him wherever he went, even if it was only in his own mind.
Glancing between the girl and Scott, Ace gave a little cough and straightened up, taking hold of his new trunk (which was now a little damaged).
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I was actually doing some shopping," he said, giving a sideways glare at Scott. He intensely disliked this interfering meddler, and was glad of the interruption. Who knows what he might have done to the kid if Roz hadn't bumped into him. "So I'll be leaving you here."
With a polite nod the both of them, Ace slung the trunk over his broad shoulder and set off down the street, on the way to the bookstore.

Ace entered the bookstore. It was old, and dusty books of all sizes were scattered in random piles all over the shop - it was the same store he and Michaela had entered when he had been human, and contained some very rare magical volumes, a couple of which he was quite keen to lay his hands on for a good read on the way to who knows where.
He gave a polite nod to the old book-keeper, who gave him a wan smile, his pale blue eyes never leaving the Vampire as he browsed around.
Finding two books that looked remotely interesting (one called 'Potions for Power' and another called 'Forgotten Legends'), he went to hand over the five galleons he owed when he spotted a pile of velvety blue books in cellophane wrappings, each with a crude symbol of unknown origin on the front. He glanced up at the book-keeper, who smiled another thin smile.
"Very rare," he croaked, picking up one of the volumes. "It's a book that only opens by the touch of it's master... it scalds the hand of anybody who is not. However, just in case it is fooled, the writing inside is invisible to all eyes but yours. Only the Darkest of Magicks could break into it. A useful possession indeed, yes - and for only ten galleons each."
Ace raised a brow. "If they're so rare, old man, then why do you have piles of them?"
The man's smiling face quickly fell into a scowl, before forcing it back into a timely smile, even tighter than before. "Well... alright, not very rare. But I am the only Seller of them in these parts of the world. Very popular in New Zealand, though. How about... seven galleons, then, seeing as you clearly know your books?"
Knowing he could probably get it for a lot less, but not wanting to be here all day, Ace nodded curtly and handed over the money for all three books. He left the shop, glancing back quickly to check the redheaded dude wasn't still around.
Reaffirming his solitude, Ace headed forward to the petshop.

Ace entered the smelly, dank and dark petshop, where eyes of many strange creatures watched him. Feeling particularly unsettled by a toad with orange eyes watching him, Ace quickly grabbed several bags of meaty treats for Ade, and rushed hastily out of the cramped little store.
He walked out into the street, and looked around. Witches and wizards of all kinds rushed around him, ignoring the fact he was even there, and Ace sighed. So this was what he wanted, right? To not be known? To be overlooked?
Ignoring the growing feeling of unease in his stomach now that he knew he had nothing holding him back, he threw all his new purchases into his travelling trunk. Straightening up, he took one last glance at the hazy sun in the sky, winking at him from behind a thin film of silver cloud, before turning around, and heading back for the portal.
It was time.

Kalista walked along the street, the hard heals of her leather-clad feet clicking on the stones beneath. She was signing a song, one of happiness. She seemed to be ale to put her feelings into every single beautiful note that came soaring from her lips. She had not been paying much attention, as she was window-shopping at the time when she bumped into him. Her song stopped and she gazed at the man she had run into, almost forgetting to say sorry until her mind raced back to reality again. “Excuse me sir.” She nodded, still gazing almost intently at him. There was something different about this man, something she couldn’t quite put a finger to.
Kalista only just had parts of her memory returned to her in the last few months and had never, to her knowledge, met any vampires, ever, she didn’t really even conceive of the fact that they even existed, really. Only the tales of what she had been told, but nothing had prepared her for a meeting with one so, instead of being all giddy and girlish, this was not her way, she simply smiled at him then offered to help carry his effects.
