Blinking back his unnecessary tears, Ace idly twisted the Gem of Amarra around his finger as he walked over fields and through country roads to get to the portal that would take him to Diagon Alley. The sparkling silver entryway beckoned him and, with a last glance in the direction of his current home, he stepped into the portal.
Feeling as though he was being catapulted to London, Ace bit back the yelp of surprise that was threatening to come from his mouth - and then, without any warning, the feeling of flying through time and space stopped abruptly, and he found himself standing at the edge of Diagon Alley. Not wanting to get stood on by the next person to use the Portal, he moved quickly on, his eyes scanning the shops and people almost nervously, wondering if anybody would recognise him; hoping they wouldn't.
He spotted the coffee shop he and Michaela had visited after Ace had become human - he had been quite fond of the taste of coffee, and the sensations the hot drink had given him, tingling around all his senses, the caffeine being a wonderful discovery for his first week of real life.
Suppressing any more reminiscing, he entered a furniture store that was absolutely packed with loads of witches and a few wizards. He could see why, though - all the furniture was very handsomely made, from beechwood tables and chairs to heavy ebony armoires, this store seemed to have everything to please everyone. Squeezing past a blonde-haired witch arguing with her husband over which enchanted mirror to buy, Ace saw a pile of different sized and shaped travelling trunks. Stepping over to them, he immediately found one that suited him perfectly.
Flipping over the tag of the trunk, his eyebrow raised immediately. That was more than he would pay for three trunks. Looking over to the salesgirl, he finally smiled - she was gazing at him with wide, terrified eyes. He recognised her as a student from last year - she had graduated, but his encounter with the girl was as fresh in his mind as it had ever been. As he flashed her a fanged grin, she let out a yelp, her hand flying to cover her neck, and she ran into the crowds, disappearing from sight.
"Thankyou very much," grinned Ace, throwing the trubk over his shoulder and walking straight out of the store, back into the bustling crowds of Diagon Alley.

Scott, who was preparing to return to the castle to catch up with old friends, spotted the Vampire swooping into the shop and vaguely recognised him from somewhere. Then he remembered something he was told on the train about Kiki and Ace, the Vampire King. He decided to have a brief chat to him.
He watched as he frightened the life out of the poor girl serving at the furniture shop and followed closely behind him as he wound through the crowds of Diagon Alley.
'That was hardly nice,' He commented as he came into earshot of the Vampire. He wasn't having a go at him, just stating facts. Scott was interested in this Vampire, and wanted some answers before he arrived at the castle.

Ace raised an eyebrow at the stranger. He wasn't really in the mood for company, but he figured that making a scene in the middle of Diagon Alley probably wouldn't be the best idea.
Ace pulled half of his mouth into a strange sort of smile as he continued to walk at a steady pace down the street, making strangers dive out of his way as he waded through the crowds. "Well, if you could get free stuff just by giving somebody a look, wouldn't you?" he asked as amiably as he could manage.

"I think I can safely say I've never been in that position." Scott replied, striding easily in Ace's wake.
"Answer something for me would you? Are you Ace, the Vampire King?"

Ace stopped abruptly, and eyed the newcomer with a mixture of suspicion and dislike.
"That I am," he said slowly, shifting the heavy trunk so that it was more comfortably seated upon his shoulder, still looking Scott up and down as though he expected him to attack him in the middle of the street - it wouldn't be the first time that sort of thing had happened to Ace.
"Who wants to know, anyways?" said Ace, more aggressively than was probably wise to the unknown entity.

"Scott," Scott replied, holding out a hand in greeting.
"There's just a view things I want to clear up with you,"

Ace sighed, and threw the trunk to the ground so that it landed with a loud thump.
"What might they be, then?" saud Ace irritable, eyeing the redhead with even more dislike, and beginning to ponder whether he could get away with ripping his head off in broad daylight in a public street. He was leaving town, soon, after all.
"Well?" pressured Ace, baring his fangs to make no mistake of the dangerous path his companion was treading so heavily upon.

Scott looked at him evenly and spoke one word.
"Kiki."

Ace scowled, suddenly very much unaware of the crowd around them. Kicking his new trunk aside, he took a step forward so he was eye-to-eye with Scott, his piercing gaze sharp and unmistakeably sending warning signals to him.
"I really don't think that's any of your business," Ace growled dangerously, unknowingly clenching his fists by his sides; flexing, unflexing, flexing, unflexing.
"In fact, I don't think it'd be any of your business if I were planning to make mincemeat out of every student at that ridiculous school, including the Head Girl," he spat, fury building in his eyes that carried a maddened torch flaming behind them in various shades of jade. "So why don't you get on your merry way and let me continue my shopping, eh? Because, if you don't mind my saying, if you don't leave me alone right now... they'll be finding your body for years."

"All I want to know is your plans for the girl." Scott replied, straightening after being taken temporarily aback by Ace's reaction.

Ace stared in disbelief at this complete stranger. He looked around at the crowd, as if expecting one of them to explain what was happening. He turned back to Scott, mingled fury and disbelief etched into every line of his menacing glare.
"Excuse me, but I don't even know who you are," he spat, disgusted. "Think about this logically for a second, mate - you're a total stranger demanding to know my plans. I am well aware that, as the King of the Vampires, there is likely to be gossip or rumours about me that spread to every corner of this godforsaken place - but does this mean that I actually divulge any of them myself?" His eyes glinted with quiet, simmering rage. "I am a very private person, and I like it that way. Stay out of my affairs if you know what's good for you. Got it?"

Rozlynn walked along the busy sidewalk looking into different shops going into one when she found something she liked or needed.
Her blue eyes sparkled from the sunlight and natural highlights made her short brown hair shimmer. She wore a simple outfit. Blue-jeans and a plain purple t-shirt she didn't really need to impress anyone did she?
As Rozlynn walked she spotted a furniture store. At that point she remembered that she really needed a bedside table for her room. She looked down at her hands and began to count some of her money. Just as she put it back into her pocket she ran straight into Ace.
Rozlynn's head jerked up instantly and her blue eyes filled with suprise. She looked down feeling suddenly shy as she always felt when around people she didn't know. Her voice was soft and sweet as she spoke her apologies.
"Excuse me, I am really sorry for running into you. I wasn't paying attention. If I made you break anything I'm really sorry and I'l replace it if I have to. I didn't hurt you did I?"
Rozlynn looked up and blushed. She had been babbling, she did this often around men and boys she found attractive. She just watched him her face not losing it's rosy coloring.

Scott was about to reply when Ace was barrelled into by a girl who was clearly embarrassed. Scott decided to try and soften the blow, and the situation would give him time to think of the next argument to bring up against the Vampire.
Scott turned to the girl.
"G'Day, I'm Scott. And I think it'd take a bit more than a bump in the middle of Diagon Alley to hurt Ace," Scott turned his gaze back to the Vampire and continued in an under-tone.
"Well, that's too bad then, because Kiki is my affair. She's my best friend, and even if you do rip me apart, she'll return to normal soon, and then she'll be even more hurt toward you."

Rozlynn nodded at Scott her face starting to return to it's normal color. She smiled softly before speaking.
"Pleasure to meet you Scott, I'm Rozlynn, but Roz is fine."

Ace smiled, about to speak to the flustered girl, when Scott stepped in and introduced himself to the new arrival, finally giving Ace a piece of his identity, albeit back-handedly. Scott muttered something under his breath, and Ace's face spread into a wide, almost cruel smile.
"Oh, please," Ace said, rolling his eyes. "Alright, I get it. You're her friend. Well, I see it this way... I am leaving. Nobody can change my mind about it. And, when I do leave, I guarantee that Kiki will be more than a little distraught. Which means that all the hours I would usually spend having my wicked way with her," his eyes twinkled, "... can be spent with you comforting her instead. All thanks to me, you might finally be back in the picture."
With a sneer, he turned away from the annoying redheaded boy and turned to face the girl, who was staring up at Ace with wide eyes.
"Hello," said Ace, grinning slightly. "Sorry about that, an irritating interlude... my name is Ace, it's a pleasure to meet you... Roz, was it?" He took the girls' hand and kissed it gently; an old habit he had not done for a long time, not since he first arrived at Magic Horizons, oh so long ago.
