You said you didn't like to see me cry. So what did you do? Close your eyes?

Ariadne had headed down to Brighton for the Holidays. She'd wanted to go back down to the orphanage where she'd grown up, and she'd been suprised that Sephe hadn't gone with her.
Still, she'd enjoyed spending her Holiday in the south with Manny and Joe. It had reminded her of the good old days where she'd had lots of friends and people had been so caring.
Yeah, but no one cared enough to adopt you, did they?
But she cast that thought out of her mind. She was coming back to her home. Her family was here, and she was back where she belonged.
But she still had to survive the Bus ride home. She'd boareded tired and half asleep. Her trunk was placed above her head, and she was lying back in the chair/bed that she was told to sit in.
The scenery changed, and she watched the world pass her by. It was pretty out there. The whole landscape was covered with snow, and she couldn't help but smile .
I'll be there in a few moments. I wonder what the castle looks like this? It must be marvelous; the whole thing covered with snow and all. I can picture it in my mind.
She closed her hazel eyes for a moment and drifted off into a fitfull sleep hoping some one would talk to her on here.

The next person to board the violently purple Knight bus was one Chase O'Dell. He was about fourteen years old, quite tall for his age with a mop of jet black curly hair and piercing sapphire blue eyes. He too, was on his way to MH, but unlike Ariadne he was making the journey for the first time. Already he had heard tales of the school from his older sister, of the people and the teachers and the constant demon attacks...
Don't be daft, Chase, he told himself firmly. How often can that happen really? Oh how little he knew.
He climbed aboard the bus, holding out an empty cat carrier in front of him whilst heaving his large brown leather trunk with little effort behind him; he was strong for his age, too. He spoke to the conductor briefly, before stowing his luggage and taking the bed next to a girl with hazel eyes. She looked about the same age as himself, and though it appeared as if she might drop off to sleep at any moment, he decided to talk to her.
"Off to school too?" he asked conversationally, his voice carrying a strange lilt - something Celtic, perhaps. "My name's Chase, Chase O'Dell. Hope you don't mind me waking you, but I think I might die of boredom before I even get to the place. Mind if I ask your name?"

Ariadne was out of it when she heard someone sit down near her. It wasn't unusal to run into other people that would be attending the school. Most students to the Knight Bus, and that was perfectly natural. She had even been expecting to see some of the other students, and the boy who had just bored looked to be one of them.
He stowed his luggage, and Ariadne watched as he did. He didn't struggle at all, and she was silently amazed. She would have fallen over if she'd attempted that. But then again, she wasn't really in shape for that kind of thing.
He started to talk to her, and she smiled slightly again.
"Yep, and I don't mind. It's a pleasure to meet you Chase. I'm Ariadne. There's really not as many people here as there usually is."
She gestured to the surrounding empty beds. They were usually packed.

Chase smiled. It was a slightly lopsided grin, charming in a strange indefinable way, but that was just him. Strange. Out of step with the world.
"Cool name. Nice to meet you Ariadne," he said in his odd voice, before looking about him. "Is it usually packed then? I would have thought most people would get the train after the holidays, but we are a little late, I guess. Well, you might be, this is my first trip to the school, no idea what to expect really, unless I actually take my sister's word for it." He added, raising a sardonic eyebrow. "Actually, you might know her. What house are you in? I'm supposed to be in Hufflepuff, like my Mam was, but my sis' is a Gryffindor. Bit weird, we all figured her for Ravenclaw, being such a smart-arse and all. But yeah, anyway, what about you?"

Chase seemed to echo Ariadne's very thoughts. It was a little weird, but then again people usually had that ability around here. She was starting to get used to it, although this was her sixth year. Most people would have thought that was strange, but then most people weren't Ariadne.
"Yeah, they are. It's strange and all. I'm in Gryffindor though, so I might know your sis. If she'd ended up in Ravenclaw, she'd have to know my twin though. Seph's the prefect, well one of them there. Still, a lot of smart Alecs aren't in Ravenclaw."
She shrugged. Strange things happened at Magic Horizons and people weren't always what, or who, you figured them to be. It was like an intricate dance where everyone was changing partners, and everything changed when the new song started.
