OOC:
Basically, I'll be on vacation from the 10th to the 18th.. hence I have decided to send Faerlain away for a while. She can work out some emotional issues while I work on my tan... hehe. Anyway, I figured I'd start this post a little early incase I leave a little earlier (I have some very crazy stuff going on next week...)
BIC:
Faye slowly pushed open the huge doors in the entrance hall, going back right out the way she had come in just a few weeks ago. The day was cloudy and threatened rain, just like the day she had arrived. It felt so strange to be walking away from the huge magic school. Such good memories had been made over the past few weeks. She never wanted to let go.
Her hair was swept up into two identical buns on each side of her head and she had not bothered to draw her cloak up around her head. It had not yet started to rain, but she could feel that it was coming. She could feel her duffle bag bang against her side as she walked down the path that led down to one of the only roads that the Knight Bus might come down. There was a bench there, and she took a seat upon it, dropping her duffle down beside her.
She heard a hooting noise above her and was suprised to see her snowy owl, Auriel, flying above her head with a message clasped in her talons. Clucking her beak a few times, the bird soon landed by Faye's feet, looking very proud of herself. Faye smiled and removed the message from her talons, unrolling it carefully.
'Dear Faye,
I'm glad that you are happy. It makes me happy just to know that you have finally escaped the rain and stepped out into the sunshine to become the girl I've always known you could be. Try hard on your lessons and don't forget about me.
As for your eyes, we'll talk about it later. There is still hope, don't worry. Plenty of people have dealt with it like you shall.
I will save you a place for Christmas, though if I can see you sooner it would make my heart glad.
Love,
Mother'
She stopped to ponder the message for a moment, a smile growing over her face. Yes. It was time to go home. She had known that was her intention from the moment she stepped out of the entrance hall, but now she was sure. Just for a few days...it couldn't hurt. Whipping out a quill and parchment, she scribbled a quick message.
'Dear Mom,
I hope you get this before I arrive so that it isn't too much of a suprise for you. I've decided to come home for a week to work things out. I'd never expected things to get so complicated after being here for such a short while. But they have.
I'll be taking the Knight Bus and expect to arrive in a few days, if nothing goes wrong. Keep Auriel there for me until I arrive, don't send a response back with her.
Love,
Faerlain'
After quickly writing it, she rolled it up and tied it onto Auriel's leg. It wasn't that heavy and as long as bad weather didn't interrupt her, she should arrive within the next few days. With a grin, she picked up the beautiful bird and tossed her into the air, watching her fly away into the distance.
So, now she really was leaving. All she had to do was stick out her wand and call the knight bus, then she would be on her way. Her hand quivered on her wand, unsure if she really wanted to go. She was pretty sure she had only mentioned leaving in passing to Kage and Wyl, but it felt so lonely sitting down there all alone.
