The events from the day before had left Hayzie as charred as a sausage on a barbeque on a hot day, if not more, yet when she had sent an owl to her boss that morning explaining she wouldn't be coming in... let's just say she wasn't too happy about it at all. Not only were the burns making her look unattractive, but mobility was appearing to be a problem as her kneecap had shattered, and was still causing her difficulty even after Kasey had had a look.
Sighing, and being repremanded once more for being late, Hayz set to work, heading straight for the library which was the largest room she had to clean. Just to top things off, today she had no wand. How could she have been so stupid?
Sitting down on one of the many chairs in the library, the blonde girl put her head in her hands, feeling just as despairing as she had done twenty four hours before when she was stuck in the forest and looking as though there was no way out. Everything over the past year she had brought on herself, just as Rikka had said before. There was nothing that she hadn't provoked, nothing that wasn't her own fault.
Maybe it was time for a change. Maybe it was time for a new Hayzie to come around. After all, being how she was appeared to be getting her nowhere at all.
Standing up and yawning a little, Hayz picked up the mops and bucket, squinting in pain and began mopping the floor manually, putting up 'wet floor' signs every few paces just in case someone missed them and slipped.

Kiki strode into the library, intending to look for a book that held some record of goblin burning, just to prove that Flenerick the Flatulent wasn't burned at the stake, instead was beheaded by a farmer who mistook him for a dead shrub. The other part was to just surround herself with something that wasn't going to hurt her or inflict something upon her when she wasn't ready for it. She had had enough of that lately.
She found the book she was looking for fairly quickly and was on her way out when she nearly tripped over a 'Wet Floor' sign. She glanced up and saw the trail of signs behind her. She pulled out her new wand, sighing ruefully as she missed her old one to death, and with one sweeping flick all the signs merged into one and floated above the wet patch.
"You could just try that next time," Kiki called after the janitor, then recognised the mop of blonde hair.
"Hayz?" She asked, then blinked, a little shocked, at the Gryffindor in front of her. "What's happened to you know?" She asked, at a bit of a loss to what could have happened to cause the extent of this injury.

Hayzie remembered a few months ago in this very room when she bumped into Hikalyn, the Head Auror, but this was much, much worse. Okay, Kiki was her friend, and usually the blonde wouldn't feel this small around her, but today was different. Today, Kiki was Ministress and Hayzie wasn't a student, but a lowly janitor.
Turning around, Hayzie nodded her head, and began shuffling with the mop in her head. "Ever so sorry, Ministress," she apologised quietly, turning a little red. Looking down at her hands which were redder than her face, she closed her eyes for a second before looking back up.
"Had a bit of an accident, Ma'am," The Gryffindor explained vaguely, not giving away any more than she had to, and still keeping the respect she had to while she was at work.

Kiki raised an eyebrow at Hayzie then walked over to her, dropping her book on the table, forgotten.
"Don't do that," Kiki instructed. "Please, Hayz, I can't stand the rest of them mumuring around me 'Ministeress' and 'madame' and 'mistress' like a bunch of house elves. Call me Kiki, here, anywhere. It doesn't matter. If you are worried for your job, I can exercise my authority and do whatever I need to. Please don't treat me like I'm some gung ho leader of the universe like Zaphod Beeblebrox." Kiki sighed and was going to put a hand Hayz's shoulder but wasn't sure if it'd hurt her or not.
"What happened?"

A smile almost tugged at Hayzie's lips as she received the same reaction off Kiki that Hikalyn had given her before, and though she knew Kiki would probably help her keep her job, her friend had enough work to do as it was.
"Sorry, Miss Michaels," Hayz replied, looking down at her hands again, one red from burns, the other scarred slightly from where the fire had brushed against it. "What happened? I ran into... someone... in the forest, and well... they weren't too happy about it," Hayzie explained, shuddering slightly as she shifted the weight back onto her good leg. "But I'm okay, really. Just... a little misunderstanding. Otherwise I wouldn't be here, right, Ma'am?" she asked, keeping her tone as casual as possible.
Suddenly, a confused expression took over, as she asked: "Who's Zaphod Beeblebrox?"

Kiki shook her head, slightly exasperated at Hayzie's insistance of using the formalities, then a small smile spread across her face at the question Hayzie asked.
"Nevermind," Kiki sighed as Hayzie obviously wasn't going to talk about her mishap in the forest. Judging from Hayzie's reluctance to talk, Kiki judged it was possibly something to do with the Lycan's, so Kiki decided to take a somewhat safer angle of conversation around the topic.
"I heard that there've been a few new cubs in the tunnels," Kiki started slowly, unsure of how Hayzie mght react, judging her past with the Lycan's. "It was Amelia and Sealla who had them, right?"

Hayzie nodded, choosing not to meet eyes with Kiki. She would only end up breaking down otherwise, and then the visable scars wouldn't be the only things visable. Being set on fire from head to toe, and having multiple bones broken by someone you once considered a friend did more to a girl than just scar her physcially.
"Yes, Ma'am. Rogue as well," Hayzie almost whispered, the thoughts of the little pups in the tunnels making the corners of her mouth curve upwards the tiniest little bit. They were all so cute.. how Hayz wished she could build up the courage to go and see them. True, she had been at both births and saved the life of little Alissa, as Amelia had called her, but since then she hadn't dared to step foot in the tunnels.

(Ooc: If this post is unwanted, just delete it ^^)
A rather reluctant knock on the door rung as the two ladies spoke. A few beads of sweat bubbled atop the blue-haired girl's forehead in anxiety. What was she thinking? How could someone like her get a job at such an authoritive place like the Ministry? She didn't know the first thing when it came to magic, but the girl did have a waitressing and cleaning job back in Australia. But what if the standards were a lot higher than they were back home?
The girl's long wavey hair, which matched the shade of her eyes, was pulled back somewhat professionally long ponytail at the back of her head, all strands of blue not once falling in front of her eyes. At the moment anyway. Carmen's heart rate went through the roof. This was more scarey than wandering into the forest! Her dainty little hands began to shake uncontrollably, and it only occured to Carmen after a few seconds, when she interwove them with eachother in an attempt to cease it.
Foot steps echoed behind the door, and the student's breath grew caught in her throat. Now was crunch time.

ooc: Course it's wanted ^^
bic: Hayzie had been uncomfortably waiting for a reply off the Ministress when a knock came at the door to the library. Blonde hair whipped against her neck as she turned to face the door. "I'll get it for you, Ministress," the Lycan girl answered automatically, nodding and going to the door to open it and reveal the knocker.
As the door opened wider, a blue haired girl Hayz recognised from the school was stood there, looking a little nervous. "Can I... help you?" the blonde asked, timidly.

After brushing down her front making sure as to not look too untidy, and pulling her hair into a tighter pony-tail, the door opened to reveal a beautiful lady with blonde hair. She looked a little battered in comparison to the other woman behind her. But obviously the lady who answered to Carmen was the cleaner. Maybe the Janitor was being overworked by the Minister! The girl gasped at her own thoughts. Perhaps this wasn't the right place to ask for a job.
But nevertheless, she was already there, and after a long silence the girl's sapphired eyes finally met the emerald green ones of the Lady. "Umm... I'm here to ask for a job." Carmen spluttered, growing more uneasy by the second.

Hayzie smiled at the girl, remembering when she had been in the same decision. Looking over to Kiki, and waiting for a response. Not getting one, Hayz simply nodded. At least there wasn't a long wait to see the Ministress like there was when the blonde was after a job.
"Erm... Miss Michaels, there's someone here to see you about a job," Hayzie smiled, gesturing for Carmen to go through. Suddenly, a small laugh threatened to come through. She felt like a receptionist more than a janitor. "I'd better... get back to work," she decided, annoucning her decision out loud.

She couldn't back out now. Not now that the Ministress knew a girl was there to see her. It was now or never, and the never was already cancelled out. The intimidation effects were really getting to her, but whilst fiddling with her ring Carmen took in a deep breath and announced "Yes. I'm here for a job." rather hoarsly.
Crunch time.

OOC: We could turn this thread into a drinking game. Everytime someone says 'job' we take a shot. XD I'm tired again, leave me alone...
BIC: Kiki sighed, it was almost the perfect distraction for Hayzie to escape the topic at hand. She eyeballed Hayzie, clearly telling her that the conversation was not finished and then looked at the girl who was rather nervous by the looks of things.
The bue hair and eyes reminded her of a pixie that an old Minister - Bob Rainbow, one of Kiki's old friends - had had as an assistant. Cornish, her name was, if Kiki's memory served her correctly. Kiki smiled warmly and stepped forward to shake Carmen's hand.
"G'Day, I'm Kiki, the Ministeress, quite obviously. What sort of job where you after?" She asked, wondering which section of the library would be the best to conduct a job interview at.
