Evelyn had been in search of the Faerie Realm all evening, and at least she came upon a dense wall of lilac bushes. Clawing through them vigorously, she wormed her way through the leafy branches and carefully broke through a thick and rough core of entangled ivy. Raising her head from the sharp brush, she caught sight of exactly what she had been in search of.
A innocent looking faerie sat lazily only meters away, tapping buttercups with the tip of her finger, sending them into dreamland briskly. The snapping of twigs and crunching of undergrowth sounded unrelentlously as Eve tried to escape from the entwined grasp of a vicious thistle. Just as she was about a foot away from becoming free of the clinging plant life, a switch of thorns, that had snagged her perwinkle chiffon skirt, snapped back and then released to swipe Evelyn rudely across the cheek. A drop of crimson blood ran down her warm cheek and rained down upon the plant that caused such a gash. Raising her left hand up to inspect what had been done, her actions retreated upon the slight caress, sending her wincing in pain.
'Ooh. What a terrible day it's been. Can't I do anything right!?' Evelyn blaired as she pinched her eyes shut and clunched her fists tightly, not caring anymore whether she scared the faerie off or not.
