{ooc}: Continued from Return in the forest. Invite only, ta.
{bic}: Mai and Isaac walked down the streets of Hogsmeade, passing a less-occupied pub called The Tempest Inn. It was a place Mai frequented whenever she made a trip to Hogsmeade, which in itself was not very frequent at all. Clad in her misty-rose gown she had her arm through Isaac's, still her support from her actions back at the forest. Her eyes were having an easier time remaining open now, to reveal her glowing garnet irises in all their heated glory.
Isaac beside her however, could not see at all. Though his irises still held a green shimmer to them, they were glazed over with a white film, and bloodied slightly from the attack of the demoness. It was ironic that the woman who had rendered him blind once more now used his arm as her support, yet surprises were common with the demonic race.
Mai's long ivory tresses flowed behind her elegantly, and she flashed most irresistable smiles to the many gentlemen who took double-takes of her. Those smoky lashes hauled them in when she was hungry, but tonight she was here on specific matters. Guiding Isaac down a lane to the left of the main Hogsmeade road, Mai doubled around two corners before heading straight down a diagonal alley with a shadowed shop at the end of it called Crucifix' and Canniballs.
The name was enough to throw anyone right around on their heels and running back where they came from. In fact, so was the apearance of the haunting alley. Though Mai carried on, unphased and quite at home as her stiletto's sounded on the doorstep as she pushed her way inside with her arm still in Isaac's. "Welcome to the store that sells the finest canes around." She whispered to him, glancing around at all the crafty weapons.
It was a shop for canes alright, but the canes held all sorts of hidden talents that only their owners would know of. Pulling Isaac over to a barrel full of them, she pulled a solid ebony staff from inside and twirled it a few times, attempting to figure out what it did. Suddenly the skull at it's end opened it's fleshless jaws and a dart flew out from inside of it, landing in the wall at the other side of the room. Mai cocked a brow and dropped the staff back into the barrel, turning to Isaac with a smirk.
"Well, surely you'll have fun here. Take your pick." She told him, letting go of his arm and stepping away to study a few other weapons such as guns and blades alike. The demoness kept her senses pricked in Isaac's direction however, for she knew that anything in here could do the most unexpected things, and so one had to be on their guard at all times.

"Where are we going?"
THAT was the question of the hour as Mai tugged Isaac along, though by all appearances HE was leading HER. However, every time he asked she only replied with a, "You'll find out soon." Which only made it more aggravating, because Isaac had NO clue what was going on, thus, he repeated his line of questioning.
That is, until Mai got fed up with him. Just outside of Hogsmeade, she dug her nails painfully into his forearm and said, "I could be nice and just lead you into Hell." She said sweetly... and Isaac shut up.
"Welcome to the store that sells the finest canes around."
Isaac immediately turned in a slow circle, casting his senses about. The place just SMELLED old, it had obviously been here a long time, despite the recent attacks on Hogsmeade. The owner must have also been used to the odd clientele, for Isaac could plainly here his steady heartbeat. He was tempted to go up to him and say "BOO!" in his face, but was able to hold himself back.
"All this for a cane?" He muttered quietly, allowing himself to be pulled in (to him) a random direction. However, when his leg bumped against a barrel full of them, curiousity got the better of him... until Mai shot a dart that breezed through his hair and nailed the wall on the far side of the room. "Okay, no more canes for you." Isaac said with a bright smile, tracing his fingers over the heads of the other canes, searching for a suitable replacement for his other one, which was god-knows-where.
He stopped his 'browsing' as his fingers alighted upon the head of what seemed to be an unusually thick cane. Intrigued, he pulled it from the barrel, sliding it carefully through his palms. The head itself was fashioned much like that of his old cane, an eagle with wings slightly spread, as if about to take flight. Tracing his fingers down the length, he detected a near-imperceptible seam roughly two inches below the head. "How do you release the catch?" He asked the shopowner. "Press the wings inward ... and don't be pointing it at anything you might consider 'fragile', understand?" The shopkeep replied.
Isaac nodded and, taking care to aim the body of the cane away from himself, pressed the wings inward as instructed. Immediately, the haft of the cane shot away like a missile, revealing the swordblade held within. The blade seemed average, but as Isaac touched it gingerly, he could tell it was anything but. "Blade is comprised of a mithril alloy and sharpened to an edge so fine, it can cut cut through a fair-sized boulder without so much as stopping. Even so, blade also has multiple strengthening charms, thus, it's nigh-unbreakable by anything short of a few nuclear missiles." The shopkeeper chuckled, before holding up a warning hand, "Now don't go testing that out, y'hear? I say a few because my, ahem, tester died when hit with a few of them."
Isaac nodded and retrieved the shaft of the cane from where it had landed, clear across the room, and sheathed the cane. "Mithril is all fine and good, but if at all possible could I get it with a silver edge? I have a few... annoyances that require taking care of." He said with a small, dangerous smile. He passed the cane to the shopkeeper, who nodded and said, "Gonna take a few minutes." and ambled out of sight.
"Well, that was fun." Isaac said to Mai.

Mai's hands skimmed the air above two pistols, their holsters sitting beside them neatly, with a selected number of bullets on the side. She picked up one of the bullets and studied it closely. It's edge was rimmed with solid gold, though it's bulk was silver, and it was shaped very close to a thimble. Making a curious noise to herself she propped it back on display before hearing the shopkeeper's words to Isaac.
"Press the wings inward ... and don't be pointing it at anything you might consider 'fragile', understand?"
At that, Mai immediately looked over, spotting the fine cane in Isaac's grasp. The partially open wings of the eagle were just moving under the pressure of his hand, and the demoness swiftly cornered the counter to stand by the shopkeeper, right as the end of the cane flew off and a frightfully sharp-pitch of a blade zinged into vision.
Mai raised her eyebrows and admired the blade from afar, watching Isaac's expression as well. He seemed to like it, and she hastily pulled a few notes of money from under her garter strap, placing them in the hand of the ready shopkeeper. Although the money was of a muggle kind, the demoness knew that the shopkeeper bought most of the metal he worked with from the muggle world, and so she often took care of this cost for him.
Smiling briefly at him, knowing she had given him a hell of a lot extra, he took the cane from Isaac, tucked the money into his shirt pocket and disappeared down the back of the shop to modify it to Isaac's tastes. Mai now moved back around to the front of the counter and effortlessly slipped a black pistol into her hand. Checking that it had the ability to hold ten cartridges, she loaded the clip quickly and pushed it into the handle, cocking it back with a natural grace and aiming it at the back of the shopkeeper's head in the distance as he worked with his back turned.
Closing her left eye she aimed, before her finger came back on the trigger and the gun let out a faint clicking sound. She turned to Isaac and smirked an unreadable smirk, leaving him to wonder what her real intentions had been. "Lucky the catch was on." She murmured in a feigned tone. As the man walked back to the front of the store and carefully laid the cane down on the counter for Isaac, he looked over and smiled widely at Mai.
"Miss Rosà, you've gone and given me a heck of a lot more money than necessary." He explained, moving to reach into his pocket and retrieve the cash. Just then, Mai raised the gun once more and pointed it to the shopkeeper, making his smile turn shifty and his hands freeze. "No no Carl, I gave you quite the right amount." She then winked, raising her skirts to slide the pistol into her garter strap; her little finger slipping over the safety catch to secure it as she straightened her dress.
"Goodbye now Carl." She said, taking the cane and handing it to Isaac before looping her arm in his once more and making her way out of the store with him. A light laugh escaped her as she walked on, clearly having enjoyed confusing and no doubt frightening the man who had seemed to know her so well. She always surprised him. Every trip she made to his store was like that, and the demoness was surprised he didn't close up when he saw her coming. Then again, the desire to see what surprise she had in store often got the better of most men.
"That was fun indeed." Mai uttered to Isaac; a highly amused tone in her voice. She was still chuckling occasionally at the shocked expression she had induced on Carl's face.

"So it was." Isaac replied mildly, though not without some notes of amusement in his tone.
As she led him out of the shop once again, the cane slipped smoothly through his free hand, tip tapping once against the ground before it slid smoothly along, causing a trail to beeline through the dust and dirt, showing their path like a faithful dog.
"So, where to now, m'lady?" He said, affecting a posh British accent. He lifted his cane from the cane, spinning it easily over the back of his hand before dropping back into normal position, tracing its path once again

Watching Isaac toy with his new cane brought a sense of satisfaction to the demoness, and she smirked, raising her chin and looking ahead as they turned out of the alley and onto the main Hogsmeade street. Glancing left she tugged on his arm and led him that way, leaving a space of silence before she answered his question as to where they were headed.
"Now, we drink." She said smoothly, presenting a flourish of feigned rosy admiration in her features as she smiled openly at the man standing as security outside The Tempest Inn. She stopped when she was beside him and pulled up her skirts just enough to reveal the pistol at her thigh, and with another jerk of her head to Isaac's cane, the man nodded and moved his arm to the side, welcoming them inside.
"You're not allowed in here unless you have your own weapon of protection. It's every man or woman for his or herself in here. Be on your guard." She hissed under her lips at him, while a perfectly flawless smile greeted the many faces that chanced a look at her. Nobody but Isaac would have heard her speak, and many of the regulars moved right out of her way as she sauntered along with Isaac on her arm.
There was a smell in the air of cracked pepper, spices, and the deathly sweet aroma of liquor, as well as the welted edges of candle wax that hung off the many candles aligning walls and circling chandeliers. Leading Isaac over to a seat by the far wall, Mai slid her arm out from his and gracefully slid her skirts to one side as she lowered herself onto one of the finely-crafted chairs. She sat opposite Isaac.
Not nearly a moment passed before a woman clad in an apron and the normal attire of a waitress appeared, literally, beside their table with a pad and pencil in her hand. "Shoot." She said simply, as her ice-blue eyes flickered from molten black, to silver, back to blue. Mai placed her elbows on the table and poised her chin on clasped fingers, staring straight at Isaac.
"Order." She whispered, and it was clear simply by her tone, that this was indeed a test. She had given him no hints as to what she expected, so it was all down to his instincts of where to go now. The game was on.

It was a test, one that Isaac had no clue how to pass. Aside from knowing 'firewhiskey' and 'wine', he wasn't exactly what one could call a connoisseur of alcohol.
Unconsciously, Isaac inhaled through his nostrils, one of his more nervous reactions, and he nearly gagged on the stench. So many different kinds of aromas swirled throughout the room; sweat, general body odor, and.... alcohol.
This is a long shot...
Isaac sniffed the air again, concentrating as hard as he could to sift through the various odors. Soon enough, he was able to single out each and every scent in the room. Eliminating various scents, he finally broke it down to what smelt like the most exotically intoxicating alcohol. Raising his cane, he aimed it across the room, squarely at an unseen patron's drink. "I'll have what he's having."
After a pause, he sniffed the air again and half-turned in his chair to 'look' at the bar. At one end hunched a large, filthy man whose B.O. was only defeated by the drink he had in front of him. "And that man, send him a glass of water and a bar of soap, courtesy of myself."
