"Well Amy; don't go flattering me when you yourself are also a very interesting person.", replied Forgoil, "And yet I am surprised when you say that you haven't met a person like me for a very on time."
What could have kept Amy from meeting people like him? He seemed to met someone about every three days or so, yet why was Amy saying that he was the last, interesting person that she had met in a long time? It didn't make sense at all; if she had already went to the school, then shouldn't she have met at least several other people out there that were like him.
Forgoil rested his head on his right hand and looked over at Amy. "Surely you must have met more people like myself", questioned the boy, "But then again you said that I was only the most recent person, so I am intrigued to know a bit about the person that came before me. Care to tell the tale? For you are very good at recounting the past and turning it into a story."

Amy smiled slightly, shrugging.
"The reason I haven't met someone in a long time can probably be accounted to the fact that I don't get out very often. As of late I have preferred to stay in the castle library, reading up on texts and expanding my mind. Then at night I come here and watch the people, thinking up stories for their lives in my head. Very seldomly do I talk to them, though." She stopped and sighed, pushing her glasses out of the way and leaning forwards again.
"Let me see, though. The last interesting person I met would probably have to be the last friend I made...I do not even remember. Most if not all of my friends now I have been friends with since long before I left and returned. And I haven't made any new ones since. There was a boy, though, that I met for a breif period of time, for he left shortly before myself for reasons I do not know or remember. His name was David...I forget much about his past. This may be because of my current state of mind or just that my memory is already fading slowly."
"But David and I found each other on the Quidditch Pitch one afternoon. I had gotten in a fight with someone, horribly insignificant now, but then it was a big deal to me and I was most upset. So I had gone for a ride, for I used to be Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and I took my frustrations out on my broom. What I would do is fly higher and higher into the air until either my broom couldn't take it or I could barely breathe. Then I would land, calmer for some reason, and hide out under the bleachers until I calmed down a bit and got my head back. Well, he had been taking a walk that day, and he had spotted me slouching under there. I'm sure I looked horribly miserable because it had begun to rain at that point. We only talked for a moment, but our conversation was just so...different that I don't think I'll ever forget it."
Amy stopped and turned to look at Forgoil, her eyes glazed over somewhat. "Have you ever had a conversation like that? Short, but so meaningful that it has been forever imprinted on your mind?"

The shadow of a smile crossed the boy's face with Amy's latest question. He had many meaningful conversations, but none had been short in any sense of the word. They had all been long and drawn out due to Forgoil's natural curiosity and desire to find out the meaning of what ever was being talked about; not just the answers, but why the answers were as they were.
With a resignated sigh, Forgoil said, "I admit that I have had many a conservsation that has gone beyond the answers that one would seek, but never have they been short. They have been about many things; most of them were concerning to the supposed Danawi threat, but that has not yet come to pass. Fate continues to plague me in the fact that I am not satisfied with a simple answer; I desire to learn about the answer itself but there is nothing there for me to learn. It is very frustrating at times and has proven to be quite the obstacle."
"So one could say that I have had such talks and have gained something from them but they take more than I recieve. Have you ever felt that before Miss Stevens? The feeling when you think that you have learned all that you could about someting; only to find that your desire to know more about only increases even if there is nothing left to learn?", asked Forgoil; his eyes taken on a light that only shown when he desired an answer above all else.

Amy's eyes turned thoughtful as she leaned her head against the knuckles of her left hand, causing her face to contort slightly. She thought back to her many conversations, the important ones that she could remember, and asked herself Forgoil's question. She had given herself, her past, her entire life, to many people over the years, only to have them leave and give her little, if anything, in return. The episodes had not left her searching for more though, for she was never a horribly curious person. She could be content with a simple answer. She had never wondered why the sky was blue, but had been happy just to know it was what it was.
She let out a long sigh before turning back to face Forgoil.
"I cannot recall an instance that I needed to know more then what I already knew about a person. Everyone has their tortured existences, their secrets, and I leave those to them. For sometimes, yourself is really the only thing you have to hold onto. And I've learned the hard way that ignorance can certainly be blissful. But perhaps you were leaning in a different direction in your question? You strike me as a very curious person, one who would just love to know everything about everything. I'm myself am a very simple creature, and I find that I am relatively content with what I have at the moment. What I know."
Smiling slightly, Amy checked the dainty silver watch on her wrist. It told her that it was late. Very late.
"Was there anything else you would like to know about me, Forgoil? Any other questions or curiousities that are buzzing around your mind? For you surely know by now that I have no restraints on information and I would hate to leave you with questions about me. Sadly, though, I have an engagement tomorrow afternoon that I would quite like to be rested for. So..before I take my leave, anymore bees in your bonnet?"

Shaking his head, Forgoil calmly said, "Amy; you are not a simple creature. A simple creature would be an ant or some such creature that thinks of only it's own survival first and isn't intelligent to even fathom what emotion is. You are a complex creature, maybe more so than the average human. You feel emotion and that in itself is hard for any simple creature understand. You cry when you are sad or upset, yet there is deeper meaning to it then meets the eye. When you are happy, who really knows what made you laugh unless you tell them so?"
"So say not that you aren't a complex creature Miss Stevens; I consider you more complex than myself now that I think on the matter. You have gone through so much, I doubt that anyone could even guess at what you are feeling without you telling them like you told me.", said the grey-haired boy; yet a small smile graced his face, "And if you are not a complex creature Amy, then I am a fool and a blob of primordial jelly. And yet you don't see me laying on the floor; I sit next to you as a vertbrate and a human, so I doubt that you are right in your thought.s about you being simple."
Standing from his seat, Forgoil brushed off his shirt and smiled kindly at Miss Stevens. "I believe that you are right Amy; it would be best if I left now as well. It is already past when I should be in the Common Room and if I stay out any later I could be in serious trouble. So I take it this is where we say our farewells?"

Amy smiled at his remarks.
"I suppose what you say may hold some truth, but something like that is most always in the eye of the beholder, is it not? I see myself as simple, because to me, I am easy enough to figure out if one would just take the time to look. Others may see me as withdrawn, closed, and cold. Those things I am not. To myself, anyways."
As Forgoil stood from his seat, Amy grabbed the black purse behind her and did the same. Reaching a hand in Forgoil's direction, she smiled a bit wider and nodded slightly.
"This is indeed our farewell, but hopefully not our last. I look forward to seeing you again, Forgoil."

"Indeed", replied Forgoil, "I too hope that this will not be our last meeting. It doesn't happen every day that you find a person quite like yourself Amy. You are an anomaly in this modern society of our's. It is not a bad thing to bad an anomaly; when I use the word I mean that you are unique in a way that many are not. In how many ways you are special; I have yet to know, but just from talking with you for this seemingly short time; I can tell that there is quite a bit more beyond the flesh Amy."
"Yet here we both stand and now we must both go, but it comes to my mind; we creatures that are full of sh*t are probably drawn together in some way....most likely through the smell of our decaying selfs", said Forgoil with a grin. As he walked over to the door, he paused for a moment to collect his thoughts and a fleeting look of sadness flew across his face, but then all was well as he opened the door and stood aside so that Amy could leave.
"After you, Miss Stevens."

A smile flitted on Amy's face before she hitched her purse higher on her shoulder and walked through the door.
"Thank you, Forgoil. I hope to see you soon."
With one last glance in his direction, Amy set off into the night for a long walk to contemplate the conversation she had just had. Because she had a very strong nagging feeling that this would be one of those talks she would never forget.
ooc: Sorry it took me so long to reply! It was a pleasure to RP with you, hun, and I do sincerly hope we get to do it again. ยค
