The sun had rose only an hour ago when she walked out to the graveyard of Magic Horizons. This was her first day at MH, and she wanted to see it all; the graveyard, the forest, the lake, even the castle! She was starved, but she had to look at the graves before she went to get anything to eat. ~*~*~ She was twelve, but that hadn't stopped her from falling in love with the two years older Jake. Long had she given him notes, clues, before he understood; long had she had her eyes on him. That had been the first time her heart broke; Jake didn't love her. And what he had told her when he found out was simply: 'I don't know you well enough to love you.'' As time had passed she had slowly began to look at others, but in every crush or relationship she found herself in, she eventually came in thought of Jake and ended them.~*~*~ Tears ran down her face. It had been a painful time the months that had followed, yet, if she looked at herself now, six years later, she could say only one thing; she had grown on the experience. She had learn not to expect anything what it came to love and by so doing never get hurt again. She dried her eyes on her handkerchief and looked at the beautiful tombs. The most fascination one was the one with an angel guarding the tomb. Thera could have watched it forever if she hadn't been so starved.

Persephone was on her walk to her mother's grave. She had meant to come down earlier that week, but havoc had broken out, and somehow she just hadn't been able to find time. It wasn't as if her mother wasn't important to her; she was. She was the person who had cared for her, had kissed her cuts and bruises, and she was the woman who had died before her time.
Persephone sighed deeply. Her long silver blonde hair danced around her body. It fell down to her waist and continued to swirl ethreally around her. Her large emerald eyes were ancient and knowing. The ever present light in them seemed to dull as she walked towards her mother's resting place. Her small five foot body was dwarfed by towering tombs of the dead.
In her hands were the bouqet of white roses. They had been freshly cut, the dew from that morning still clung to their fragile petals. She walked on and saw someone else standing in the graveyard. She did not remember seeing her there before, and walked over to her. A part of wanted to continue on her journey, but curiosity took over. After she spoke here, she go to her mom.

Someone else was out in the graveyard this late. I wonder who she might be, this wanderer. She seems puzzled, who is she here to visit? Whose spirit is she her praise? all this where questions running through her mind as the girl walked over to her with a bouquet of white roses in her hands.
The roses reminded her once more of the painful time in the past; she had once brought white roses to Jake. They had been a present, but he had thrown them away angrily. Stop thinking about Jake! she thought and smiled to the blonde haired girl.
Thera straightened her green velvet skirt and jacket. It was a cold morning, even though the sun was warming up the air, it did not affect Thera. Her insides had been cold far too long to be warmed by the sun after minutes outside. It wasn't that the sun didn't warm her skin, it was just that even though it did, she was still cold inside.

Persephone cocked her head to one side. It was a natural behavior for her, one that often followed a puzzeling question, or odd look. She looked at the girl in front of her. She was taller than her, but that w asn't unusual. She had gotten used to be one of the shortest people in MH...especially for being sixteen.
In this girl's eyes was the hidden pain...except it didn't look so hidden right now. It flared across her eyes, but not with the vengenance of one who has been recently wronged. It flared with the agony of a hurt that would not heal. Of the cut where the scabs been pealed off so many times that it won't heal all the way.
She looked deeper into those eyes. A fragile coldness danced in there too. She wondered what could do that to someone. What could freeze someone so much that they weren't....warm anymore.
Death...hurt...pain that goes beyond the physical. That's what can happen to someone...it happened to Ariadne...
"Hello. I'm Persephone...." She wasn't sure where to go from there. She wasn't even sure if this girl would talk back to her.

To her great surprise the stranger had spoken to her. Thera hadn't expected the other to talk to her at all. Why can't I just forget about Jake and the pain he caused me back then? We've had many great times together after that haven't we? It was a while before she picked herself up and replied. "Nice meeting you. I'm Thera Lane."
She hadn't always been so cold, so distant. It was just that everything that had happened since Jake was frightening her. Everything from this memory, to the memory of their blood exchange or the murder she had commited was hammered in her mind. She had forgotten all about the blood or the murder until she left Jake and got here. Maybe it was only her longing for Jake that made her so cold and distant?

"Pleasure to meet you Thera. Are you here to visit someone?"
Sephe's deep green eyes were puzzling. You could never exactly read anything in them, unless she wanted you too, or her guards were down. She was strange like that, but it only made her more mysterious.

A smiled played on her face, but it didn't last long. "No, not exactly. I'm new here you see, this was just the first place I sat my feet when I entered. I'm not of those people gathering in the Entrance Hall on their first day hoping to meet some new friends, 'cause I'm in no great need of friends. But if that had been the case, I think I'd never come here in the first place." Thera's green eyes were a little warmer after meeting the girl, but she didn't take notice of it herself. The only one that deserved her love was Jake, and she had left him home when she went her to study.
Why exactly did I leave, anyway? she thought.
"What about you? Are you here to visit someone?" She studied the other, it was fascinating how her eyes reveal nothing of how she felt. How could anyone do that? Keep their emotions hidden? It certainly had never been There's strongest side.

"I'm here to visit my mother. She's buried over there."
Persephone gestured to one of the large tombs. Her marker was of a book, opened in the middle, a memory that her mother's life had been cut short before her story should have been finished.
She seems so hurt. So broken, but she doesn't want to be better. She opens wounds, and they bleed, and the blood never clots, when she rips open the scabs.

Thera was out of words. What could she say? She had never experienced the death of a loved, only sometimes wished for it. But what was it the others had called her back home? "Bringer of coldness?" No, but it wasn't far away. the only one who had ever been able to warm her was Jake; with one look she had almost melted away.
She wished she had a pet, or someone to talk to. It would ease her pain. Her sorrow, her longing. If only Jake had been there... But he wasn't, was he? The muggle whom she loved, he couldn't be here at MH.
"I am so sorry to hear, Persephone..." what else could she say? She had nothing else in mind, nothing that could be said right now.

"It's ok...or as ok as it'll ever be. I loved my mom dearly, and I'll always miss her, but the hurt softens after awhile. It's been twelve years...after so long...all you remember is how wonderful that she was..."
Some how Persephone knew that she was hitting a spot with Thera. She wondered if Thera knew that, no matter how constant a pain was, it would grow softer, less harsh...it just took some time...sometimes a whole lot.
Her green eyes swirled and danced, hiding the emotions so strong and clear. She knew that her friends could tell what those eyes meant...but they had had years of training. No doubt, Thera must think her to be completly strange...and cold.
