Hear the cries Echoing across the Lonely world Painfully Tears streamed down her face, finally escaping after a long bid for freedom. Slat trails wandered in meandering paths down her cheeks and her eyes were reddened, offering further evidence to her emotional state. Footsteps echoed loudly about the hall as she rushed toward the doors. Shoving the heavy doors open, she stumbled outside and down the steps with a choked sob. Within moments of stepping outside she was soaked, the sky dumping buckets on the earth. The wind gusted about her, tangling her cloak about her and slamming the doors forcefully closed behind her. The sound went unnoticed as she continued her dash forward. Her feet slipped a bit on the rain-soaked ground and she took several unbalanced, gangly strides forward to regain her balance. Her shoes sunk into the ground, only to be pulled free with a loud squelch, soon reaching the same state as the rest of her clothing. Continuing forward at her stumbling gait, Kira reached up to swipe at the tears still flowing from her eyes, heedless of the rain washing over her face. Another step, and her feet disappeared from underneath her, sending her tumbling down the hill to land in an unceremonious sprawl on the shore of the lake. A sharp cry emitted from her throat upon coming to a jarring halt. She lay there, unmoving, for a long moment, trying to catch the breath the fall had stolen away from her. Cool air rushed into her lungs after what seemed like an eternity, and she rolled over with a groan, pushing herself into a sitting position. A sharp pain thudded in her right shoulder and she winced, reaching up to gingerly prod at the joint. A bolt of pain shot through her arm to her fingers. Teeth clamped onto her lower lip, blood welling up under incisors to color lips that had become pale with cold. A quick swipe of her left hand dispelled crimson beads from her mouth, the motion continuing to draw muddy knees to her chest. Huddled as she was, she became aware for the first time of the chill air around her, the drenching rain stirring up the surface of the lake, and the wind rushing through the nearby trees. The Speaking Cane wailed a short distance off, warning about lack of contact and declining weather conditions. Ignoring the klaxon, Kira dropped her head to her knees. Hot tears swelled behind closed lids, anger and frustration rising along with the outward reaction. He couldn't just leave it alone, could he? she seethed inwardly. No, he just had to push it.One of the boys in the common room had taken to tormenting her, comparing her to the bats that took to the sky around the castle each evening. For the past several weeks, she had been enduring his abuse, which ranged from snickers and snide remarks just within earshot, to water balloons and tacks on her chair when she went to breakfast. Childish pranks she could stand. Tonight, though, had gone far beyond the boundaries of childish. The boy - Jake, it seemed his name was - and his group of flunkies had captured a box of the animals they took such great joy in comparing her to. A couple charms and a hex or two later, and the winged creatures were flapping about her head, chasing her from the room. She shuddered, running a hand through her hair to ensure all the flying mammals had been removed. And so I ended up here, of all places, she groaned mentally, hitching sobs slowing. Her shoulder throbbed in time with her heart, which seemed to be trying to beat its way out of her chest. She reached up to rub at her eyes, realizing belatedly that her hand was caked in mud. A thick smear of muck added further decoration to her face, the slimy feel sending a shiver down her spine. The coldness surrounding her was just beginning to break through her emotional distress, seeping deep beneath her skin to chill her. Another shiver raced down her spine, teeth chattering in a further attempt to ward off the cold. The Speaking Cane had long since fallen silent, apparently having given up on receiving any response from her. She decided now was the time to locate it, turning her head this way and that, as though she could search it out. "OK," she called out, waiting for the object to pipe up. When she heard nothing, she tried again, putting more strength into her voice. "OK!" Still, no reply broke over the wind. With a resigned sigh, she pulled her knees closer to her chest, shivers gaining in frequency as she remained still, huddled on the ground. She would try to locate the cane again in a bit. Until then, she would just have to do her best to stay warm. ((This has been two weeks in the making, so my apologies if it sounds a bit stunted at times))

Dante had simply been walking in the hall when she heard the doors slam against the outside walls, and the frantic foot steps she followed them outside immediately getting soaked, she kept searching but she found no one, she decided to call out. "Hello is anyone out here?"She called. Then she heard a voice it called out twice but over the rain she could figure out what the voice was saying.

"This time did it feel like thunder baby? And who did you run too?" The thunder struck of course at the perfect time; after she had sung the word thunder. Amazing how nature was on cue, so acute to the human senses. Sometimes it went right to match with your mood, and it was amazing. Little did the demoness know the stormy weather would match well with the girl's emotion ahead of her. Her steps were slow and idle against the mucky ground, her heels poked into the depths of the earth. They were tall, black and pointed, being complete with a strap around the ankle. She wore black fishnet accompanied by a crimson red skirt, and black, shoulder-revealing, long-sleeved shirt. She brought a manicured hand up to her hair, twirling an acid green strand around her finger, then allowing it to fall back into the depths of her black hair. There was a difference between the demoness and anyone else outside; they were soaked, and she wasn't. There was not a droplet of water upon the demoness. It would be odd to look at her lithe, shapely form and then find not a single ounce of rain affecting her. Her crimson eyes were set amusingly ahead. Xailyn was mindlessly freezing the water about to hit her into ice. It fell, painlessly, ontop of her, bouncing off to fall on the ground and melt into the various puddles littered across the muddy area. So the black and green haired demon walked slowly where as everyone else ran and tried to cover themselves. But the two girls she saw ahead of her were definitely an exception. One seemed to be curled up into a ball, cringing from some level of pain. Whether it was mental or physical Xailyn didn't know, but she was surely going to find out. "Don't worry, I have it all taken care of.." the demoness spoke to the Slytherin girl who had previously been running towards the other girl who had been screaming out. "Just go back to your bed and forget anything happened," she was cooing sweetly, though a devilish look glinted inside her ruby eyes, her pupils narrowing. There was a danger, this time to her appearance. The usual gloved hands had been freed; her icy flesh exposed. If either of the girls came in contact with her hands, or any other part of the demoness' icy skin they would slowly cringe, and collapse from freezing to death, and being totured by their utmost depressing thoughts. But the humans were sucker for torture, it was like they couldn't let go of the destruction. Whether they were in too much of a state of shock, or they liked the taste of hell, Xailyn wasn't sure. But the power she was cursed with kept them. When touching her they did indeed get to see inside of hell, everything they hate would go through their mind and seem like it was happening. Meanwhile, the demoness was freezing their body. Their heart would slow, all their organs slowly coming to a hault. The blood coursing through their veins would slowly freeze, all the liquid would be freezing. Oh how it delighted her to simply think of the torture that they would ignorantly take on all on their own. A dangerous grin momentarily flashed on her face before the beautiful demoness croached and was staring the hunched over girl in the face. Some of Kira was protected by the ice pelting down instead of rain, which she could either be thankful, or ungrateful for. Either or, Xailyn didn't really care. Because she was there, and she would be until she figured out what was going on. The demoness did not like to be uninformed. "What's wrong, deary?" she asked in a voice dripping with curiousity, she brought a pale hand to the girls chin, forcing her to face her. She felt warm blood trickle onto her icy hand, and she pulled away. The ice demon waited for the expression as the depressing cold would have kicked into Kira, for she had touched her. Normally she would have kept hold of the kid's delicate chin, snapping it amongst the torture already at hand, but she was going to wait this time. At least until she got an explanation. Her head turned back to look at the other girl, would she dare interfere with the ice demoness?

Dante heard the womans words but after figuring out that the tortured scream belonged to Kira she wasn't going any were, her and Kira had something in common something different. So Dante didn't budge. "I don't know who you are but I'm not going anywhere Kira is my friend, and you are something un-holy." Dante let her mind reach out to the thing that was between her and Kira she had no memory of this thing, this woman. "I might be unable to see you but don't think if your mind is set on destroying my friend that I will turn away from protecting her." Dante put her hand in her pocket just encase. "All I'm asking is for you to step aside I only want to help my friend."

((Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm working on mine, but my muse is being persnickety and I'm a bit busy. I'll try to have it up today or tomorrow. Just consider this a place holder))
((EDIT: Nearly a week later, and I can't do it. I don't know what it is, but I just can't seem to get anything down. I'm really sorry.))
