For a long time now Kaiki hadn't left the castle. In fact, he hadn't been around much inside the castle. Yet, by a strange desire for fresh air, here he was.
It was a nice fall afternoon. The sun warmed the earth just enough to make it a warm day, but no so much as to make it hot. Giant cotton clouds floated aimlessly through the sky. The green-blue lake lapped gently at the shore. The trees were painted yellow and red... the very image of a perfect autumn day.
Too perfect Kaiki sighed internally. He walked over to a nice tree, kicked away the dead leaves on the grass, and sat down. Carefully, he set down his sewing kit and took out his current work. It was a nearly completed embroidered design. At the bottom were colorful flowers, they were so carefully stitched that from a distance the flowers seemed real. Above there was a similarly stitched hummingbird. There was also a light sketch of a bird, of which Kaiki placed his hoop around and perpared to add color too.
Embroidering was the only thing that truly calmed Kaiki. As he began on the bird's head, his smooth face slowly lost that intensity he held. His intense green eyes softened a bit. Even when the wind blew his deep green hair into his face, he simply would not be taken away from his work. Without his normal intensity, he really seemed to match his small boyish body. Usually, the intensity of his face and eyes didn't match well with his boyish height of 3 feet and 10 inches.
And so Kaiki kept stiching, oblivious to his beautiful surroundings.

It was a perfect day. The kind of day that just couldn't be spent inside her little home beneath the tree, which is where she had spent so many of her days lately. She had resigned herself to the fact that this would be her home for the rest of her days, or at least the end of her childhood. Though she didn't mind too much- it offered her solitude that neither the forest nor the tunnels could give her. Time for her to think, to discover, and to spend most of her hours as a wolf.
By now, she had become the size of a large dog, a young adult in the eyes of any human. However, in her human form, she looked more like a very small child of eight. She could easily be mistaken for being five or six, simply because she was so small. But she didn't care- why should she? Interaction in her human form was rare for her, for she frequently stalked around the lake in her wolf skin. That was the way she liked it.
And it was on just such an occasion that she happened to cast her eyes upon a boy. Was he.... sewing? Chuckling a little, she realized that it was just too interesting of an event for her to pass it up. He looked so young... just like her. Curiously, she ducked behind a bush and quickly transformed back into a small child. Her black hair was just as unkempt as usual, but she had now taken the time to slash it down to shoulder length. However, she was no hairdresser, and it wasn't exactly even.
"Hi." She said, grasping onto the bark of the tree that he was leaning against. "What are you doing?" Her blue eyes drifted down to his masterpiece, studying it intently. What was it?

"Hi."
Kaiki's fingers flinched, while the rest of his body did not. Unfortunately, he was pushing the needle down through the material at the time, so he pricked his finger underneath the cloth. Ignoring the growing pain in his finger, he looked up at the speaker. His level eyes captured the image of the small girl in a glance.
"Hello," He said evenly in his soft alto, "Ah, this? Just embroidering in my spare time. What do you think?" Despite the girl's small size, Kaiki did not assume an age. Kaiki himself was an example of how size does not show age...

She turned her head a little to the side and looked down at the piece of art. The flowers looked almost real to her, as though she could just reach out her little hand and touch them, feeling the soft silk. It brought a smile to her face for the first time in a while, for she hadn't met that many boys that enjoyed doing typically female things. But then again, she never said that she was the traditional little girl. She certainly didn't look like one.
"I like it. It's pretty." She replied, her answer simple as she lowered herself to her knees, pushing a strand of tangled hair out of her blue eyes. She wondered if he went to the magic school- why was she talking to him? She was lycan, he was human. What had happened to her absolute hatred of the human species?
[Ugh, lame post. Sorry.]

"Well, at least someone likes it... Everyone I asked at home in Japan would just scold me for wasting my time on girlish hobbies. Such inflexible people," Kaiki said, with a hint of bitterness in his last statement.
"But I transferred here, so they don't matter to me anymore," Kaiki stated, mostly for his own benefit. The pain in his finger was slowly subsiding, so Kaiki assumed it had begun to clot. But just to make sure, he pulled out his finger from under the hoop. It had actually finished clotting. Turning his attention from his finger, Kaiki looked at his companion.
"I'm Kaiki Chenji, nice to meet you," he introduced himself. He would have offered a hand, but since one still held a needle and the other was still throbbing a bit, he decided against it.

Japan? That was so far away. It was a country that she'd only heard Xavier talk about sometimes- she had the feeling that one day he would leave for Japan since he seemed to like it so much. And right now she didn't know how she felt about that. He'd never come looking for her since she left the Tunnels and that almost made her feel like he didn't care. Maybe he didn't. She'd been a real prick over the past few months, even though it wasn't entirely her fault. Mikayla must really hate her now, and she didn't blame her.
"Well... I say do what you love to do." She replied, smiling a bit. "My name's Cealla. It's a pleasure." Her eyes drifted up to his hair- it was green. Another unusual trait that made her think of Xavier. Would he ever be able to get him out of her head? Doubtful. Maybe she needed to return home.
After all, home is where the heart is.

"Well, Cealla, if more people thought that, the world would be a much better place," Kaiki remarked, then continued in his usual cynical manner, "But I highly doubt discrimination like that will ever disappear. Even now, I'm trying not to discriminate you. Pathetic, isn't it?"
Kaiki noticed Cealla's eyes wandering to his hair. He was used to this, of course. It's not like green was a normal sight. Almost everyone he met reacted to it. Either that or his height... which he had been teased about for years, sometimes even more than just teasing.
"But anyway..." Kaiki said, changing the subject, "Are you a student at the school?"
