Everything seemed to move slowly for Roan, his speaking and transforming. Another spark of fear ignited in her when his wolf form came out, but the Hufflepuff quickly disquieted it. She was more angry than fearful that this lycan had twisted her actions into an attack. She wanted to yell at him, tell him that she had warned him to leave her be and let go of her, but he had not heeded it and so Fenris payed a price, and small it was. A lot smaller than what she was going to pay. But he was maddened, but at least this time Roan didnt feel like a fool for doing what she did. The girl perfectly well knew he would go after her, but hopefully it would give Rezna and Aidana a chance to either get a good shot in or run, and give the lycan some idea that Roan wasnt some weakling, she wasnt going to take his attack with no retaliation.
But even his attack caught her with a bit of surprise, and she didnt have time to brace against it. As she was about to hit the ground by the lake, she frantically thought of what to do. At least the girl managed to roll on her side and not take the force of the fall on her wrists like most do, but it was still enough to shock her a moment. Waiting for his next move, Roan thought about his words. Pleasentries? How in any way is this pleasent? He is insane! But that was all she managed before she felt his claws dig into her back, drawing blood. This was far worse than when he charged her in the library, her tender skin breaking, and the blood stung. Roan didnt have time to take a breath as her head was submerged beneath the water. Panic was flooding over her. He is going to drown you, move darn you, move! But air was running thin, and she was sure for a moment he wished her to die there in the lake.
Surprisingly his strength loosened and she managed to put her head above the water again. Roan only had a small amount of time to do a lot of things, and right now all she could do is defend. There was nothing she could strike at the moment to harm him or make him get away from her, so she prayed Rezna or Aidana would get rid of him. So for the moment the girl shifted her arms underneath her body and used her elbows to prop her face above the water. If he tried to submerge her again, Fenris would find it harder. If he thought for a second she would give up after one attack, he was so wrong. The Hufflepuff was just waiting for an opportune moment to strike, and would fight to her last breath to get Rezna and Aidana out, to see Fenris suffer, and to rid herself of any doubt of her own strength. It wouldnt just be Roan who suffered this night.
The words Fenris spoke to her were troubling though, and almost annoyed her. Calling her Ms. Valient was...well...odd, and she was scared at the thought he didnt want to kill her yet. That he wanted her to suffer. This could create even more problems, if he just wants me to learn a lesson. Roan thought to herself, forbidding any real fear to affect her. "If you think this is playing Fenris, you are sorely mistaken. Now let me be!" Her voice was a whisper loud enough to reach Fenris's ears, but was full of anger and venom. She wanted her words to hit hard, to let him know he was in for a fight.
Aidana's words almost relieved Roan. It was clear she hadnt chosen a side, and she wouldnt blame her in the least if she had no wish to choose. The Hufflepuff had been stupid and attacked him, but at the moment it seemed like the only option. Neither of the two was making an effect on him before. It gave Roan a moment to breath and recollect herself, get ready to hit next. She had pinned her arms against herself, but that didnt mean her legs werent free. If the moment came, a well placed strike to a knee or other joint could free herself from her lycan captor. And start the next stage of this battle. Hopefully Fenris would see reason in Aidana's words, but Roan highly doubted it.
