Mina had only just come back from her travels, and the first place she'd stepped foot in was the dance hall. Having found nobody familiar there, or any motivation to crank up the volume of the hall and dance emotions out all night, she found herself sitting on the shore of the lake. Her sense of fashion hadn't changed dramatically; baggy white pants, tight jumper, no shoes and a sailor-like white hat resting on her long, strawberry-brown strands.
Silver hoops dangled at her ears, and her old sterling-chained necklace hung around her neck with it's little song note as the pendant at the bottom. Crystals matching her aqua eyes studded the outer lines of her ears, and a clear stud shone in the curve of her nose. Her bangles didn't jingle tonight, as she held her hands still on her crossed knees, letting them glimmer in the celestial glow of the moon instead.
Releasing a thick sigh she closed her eyes and fell back in the grass, pulling her hat over her eyes to block out the moon and stars. Everything seemed so different for some reason, and Mina was so sure it hadn't been her that had changed. She felt lonely, or could it be lost?
The girl was so unsure. She pulled her knees up and rested on her back with her legs bent, puzzling over what had changed in the past few months. Was it change at all? Perhaps now she was studying things more, and as she thought, she hummed a gentle melody to herself.
The was one thing for certain that hadn't changed about Mina. She couldn't do anything without some kind of music.

Sungai slipped unnoticed through the Forest, deciding against travelling toward the village this night and instead opted to wander aimlessly through the Forest, allowing his feet to guide him to wherever he might lead. His shaggy dirty blonde hair fell in piles on top of itself and his golden eyes scanned the surrounding area for signs of anything suspicious or student-like.
His boots crunched over the leafy undergrowth and once he stooped to select a curling brown leaf from the ground. It seemed strangely out of season and Sungai continued, turning the leaf over in his hands. The grey-black shadows that danced over the trees slowly became ignored and Sungai's mind began to wander away from the Forest entirely, delving uncomfortably into his past. As he watched the memories in his mind, his fingers darted over the leaf, the rough dried veins that propped themselves up along with the smoother dips in the dead leaf.
Suddenly Sungai broke out of his reverie and discovered he was at the edge of the lake. Blinking momentarily, he crushed the rough leaf between his fingers then glanced along the banks. As he expected, it was deserted, besides a lone slightly familiar silhouette settled against the shadowy background. Sungai wound his way around the lakeside and finished up behind the figure, whose name arrived in his mind suddenly.
"Is this seat taken?" Sungai asked, tipping an imaginary hat to the girl.

Mina abruptly stopped humming as she heard footsteps approaching, and tipped her own hat forward over her mouth and nose just enough to peek her aqua eyes out over the brimming top. Widening them at what she saw, and only just catching the imaginary tip of a hat on Sungai's head, she let loose a gasp and sat up quickly.
"Sungai?" She voiced, a little more puzzled than she might have liked it to sound. Spreading a sheepish grin over her face suddenly she shuffled over a bit, not that she even needed to move with all the space, but hey, girls would be girls. Patting the ground beside her she shook her head. "No, do sit." She said, eager to catch those golden eyes once more.
Mina crossed her legs lazily and held her hat loosely in her lap, staring at Sungai as though her were some long lost relative or something. She couldn't stop smiling, finally she was seeing something familiar, or someone familiar rather. And after wondering whether her friends had ever existed, it was a reassuring sight. fixing her aquamarine gaze on him she smiled again. "So what brings you out here?" She asked, letting her eyes now cascade upwards to meet the hollow crescent of the moon.

Sungai enjoyed the positive effect he seemed to have had immediately on Mina, she had obviously missed his company even though that had only met and spoken properly once. Sungai lingered over the thought that he must have left a better impression on the girl than he had thought. It was true that he still found her attractive, and allowed himself a small smile at the thought of the last ime he had seen her they had been in a smoky pub, filled with drunkards and hazy candlelight. The fresh air that moved slowly about them was a much welcome change.
"I could ask you exactly the same thing my dear," Sungai replied, a note of playfulness in his tone. He folded his legs beneath him and sat in the offered spot, unsure as to why he was acting almost like a fifteen year old school boy. Perhaps faces from the past had a more positive effect on him than he had first imagined.
"Not up in the castle tonight?" Sungai paused, trying to remember if he had heard any stories of the dancing girl. "I don't remember seeing you around these parts of late."

After slowly spinning the sailor hat in her lap countless times, Mina raised her arms above her head, now listening to the melodic jingling of her bangles as she brought the base of the hat down snug atop her strawberry tresses. Mina also remember when they met, another girl had been there too, but she didn't talk much.
Mina remembered tripping over, her money flying everywhere, and a stranger with bright golden eyes - impossibly human - kneeled down to offer her a helping hand. Smiling up at the sparkling stars, Mina winked at one childishly, pretending the shine on it's edges were it's lashes winking right back. She giggled quietly to herself, just like she'd done the first time Sungai and her met.
With him now sitting beside her, things felt warmer, despite the fact that she knew he was a vampire. It didn't seem to bother her, after all, he seemed to be one of her only friends as of late. Amber seemed to have disappeared, and Mina didn't blame the girl after having the press after her all the time. Some other girl Mina had befriended was now dead, or a ghost as she'd heard, and some guy she'd aquainted herself with stood her up in Hogsmeade.
Sighing dramatically, Mina raised her eyebrows and shrugged, landing both hands back on her legs with a slap. "Nope, no castle, no friends, heck, no life." She said, rolling her eyes. Her tone told him she was joking, for she knew how lucky she was just to be where she was, at Magic Horizons, and after coming back from a trip to several destinations around the world, and dancing in a well-known magical group at such a young age; god she had almost everything she could dream of.
"I went for a walkabout, around the world and back." She sang with a smile, her aqua eyes glittering under the moonlight. Cutting her burst of song short, and boy did she have a lovely voice, she huffed and bit her lip, turning to stare at Sungai - a puppy dog look on her face.
"I just feel like something's missing, you know?" She said, seeking some sort of agreement or comforting words.

Sungai smiled whilst Mina sang, hitting the notes easily and enjoying herself as she did it. He hadn't heard someone sing so beautifully in a long time and even then it wasn't spontaneous, it was trained for several months at the very least. Mina was clearly enjoying the aftermath of her trip; even in the moonlight Sungai could see how much she had enjoyed it. It showed in her body language, the relaxed feeling that had obviously settled over her (it was rather refreshing to sit alongside someone who wasn't terrified of him) and the healthy glow of her skin that shone in the silvery moonlight.
He fell onto the grass beside her, thinking about her statement. He didn't answer for a moment, wondering about how best to phrase what he was trying to say and decided against pulling out a cigarette. He drew his lighter from his pocket and flicked it open and closed several times before he thought it fitting to reply.
"There is always something missing. Life is something that can never be perfectly full. It can feel like it, but there's always something that's not there, and you can never quite imagine nor figure out what it could be. Or you have an inkling, but no idea of how to achieve your goal." He sighed a little then, and dropped his lighter in the grass near Mina and sat up, shuffling closer to try and find the elusive silver container.

Ooc: Heh, I know this is majorly late. >.< And we don't have to continue it if you don't wanna, but if you do...
Ic: Maybe she should have been terrified of him. She could have had her neck preyed upon by the vampire, she could only have a few minutes left before he decided to bite her, send her into that unforgiving bliss of the undead, or perhaps torture her and completely rid her of all these theories and simply kill her.
She watched his lighter from the corner of her eye, remembering ideas she would have had a few months ago, something like attacking him to steal the lighter in a game of who could wrestle who to the ground first. Or maybe pointing off in the distance, waiting for him to look away, then snatching it and whistling innocence through her guilt. She grinned, but somehow, none of these things seemed as attractive as they would have done then.
Now, she had better ideas.
As he dropped his lighter, she immediately caught sight of it through aqua eyes and planted her hand firmly on top of it. Grinning furiously, she leapt up to her feet and leaned forward a moment to slip the hat off her own head and put it on Sungai's pale tresses, pulling it down quickly so it covered his eyes.
Laughing, she rushed off down toward the lake, stopping when her feet hit the water and wading in just above her ankles. Her pants were soaked at the bottom and she continued chuckling to herself, flicking the lighter open once before turning around to see whether Sungai had escaped the wrath of the sailor hat.

Sungai most certainly hadn't expected Mina to react in the way that she had and under other circumstances he would have reacted to Mina quite differently. However, Mina had elevated him into a mood he would usually be incredibly reluctant to step into, and suddenley a playfulness overtook the Vampire.
Then the cap came down over his eyes and he struggled with the wire band at the bottom, trying to bring it up over the bridge of his nose. Once successful, he shook out his hair, clutching the cap tightly, looked down to where he could hear splashings of water on the lake then charged after Mina.
He shed his outer cloak by the edge of the lake and ran into the water after Mina, boots serving their function as waterproof but his black trousers becoming easily saturated. Flecks of water splashed up onto his loose black shirt and he arrived next to Mina and perched the sailor's cap on his head at a jaunty angle.
"My lighter for your cap?" He asked, keeping a firm hand on the brim of the hat, just in case Mina was of the idea to swipe it back.

As he charged over, she closed her eyes, shielding herself from the splashed water that danced around as he broke the surface of the lake. Automatically, she backed into the water, deeper, now up to the backs of her knees, smiling widely at Sungai as her aqua eyes fixed him with a playful gleam.
He placed the hat on his head again and only now did Mina take the time to look him up and down, knowing she was ahead of him in this game. One slip of her fingers and lighter would be in the water and no good. Her smile weakened to a more serious one, and a flirtacious look entered her eyes.
She wolf-whistled loudly, breaking into another fit of laughter. At his words of trade, she tilted her head, apparently thinking, or summing up the odds of an escape. She flipped the lighter open once more, the flame lighting up in front of her. Then she held it out to him, but waved off the hat. "Keep it for a while, you look hot." She said easily, winking at him before shifting her weight to one hip.
"I suppose it's useful knowing smoking wont kill you?" She asked curiously, a spark of laughter still in her bright eyes.

Sungai took back his lighter and tucked it into a pocket near his chest, watching Mina the entire time, an eyebrow raised. He followed her into the water a little further, the cap now sitting of its own accord, Sungai playing Mina's game, laughing at her comment that a cap could make a cold-blooded Vampire look hot. He knew she didn't mean it by way of temperature and he noted the flirtacious glint in her eye.
"Very useful indeed," Sungai smiled, showing his fangs unintentionally as his amusement was shown through the smile.
"That's why you should never do it. Besides, you're a beautiful dancer and singer, it'd destroy your body." He admired said body up and down with a favouring eye, then the cap slipped from his head and landed gently on the water's surface. Sungai looked to Mina, an amused glint in his eye as it floated along the ripples of the water, bobbing in no particular direction, only away from the Vampire.

Although Sungai's eyes stayed fixed on Mina, her aquamarine eyes were darting from his pocket, to his face, to the hat, then back to his face. A smile was set in place on her unpredictable lips the whole time. He moved foward, and she lifted the soaked bottoms of her pants with her hands, looking down at them as they dripped with water. She laughed softly.
She blushed deeply at his flattery and thanked the darkness, not that the moon and his eyesight wouldn't have caught the weak rouge spreading slowly over her cheekbones. When she looked back up, she caught a slither of his fangs, and it made the corner of her lips quirk in a daredevilish smirk. She cocked a smooth brow at him, he was checking her out!
The hat fell from his light tresses, and Mina bit her bottom lip, fighting off whatever hormones were suddenly screaming 'HOT' in her head. The twinkle in her eye must have been blazing by now, and she simply couldn't resist what she did next. Dropping the length of her pants back on the water, she reached out and caught the front of Sungai's shirt.
Pulling him forward, until their lips were inches away from each other, she let her knees buckle and her back arch backwards, then she let his shirt go. This resulted in her disappearing underneath the water and him no doubt meeting it face-first. She resurfaced a moment later, only about a stroke away from him, her strawberry-brown hair was plastered around her neck and shoulders and her melodic laugh echoed sweetly through the night air as she floated there.
She knew in truth smoking wouldn't effect his body at all, but since she thought his body was damn fine, and he'd made such a comment about hers, she figured he might just catch on to why she'd now made sure his lighter wouldn't work.

As much as Sungai would furiously deny it, he hadn't predicted the firm hold that Mina found on the front of his shirt. He shifted his weight to cater for the sudden weight that he had suddenly acquired and his golden eyes watched curiously as Mina's eyes fluttered closed and didn't have time to even react instinctively to the clear gesture and its meaning. She'd already let go of his shirt front. Having shifted his weight, it was a simple law of physics that on the angle he was on, he would topple into the water.
It had nothing to do with physics. It had simply gone as Mina had planned. The Vampire fell ungracefully face first into the water. He lay underneath the surface for a few moments, floating with his arms spread to try and stop his fall pointlessly, hovering amongst the small white bubbled water that had splashed about him as he fell. He surfaced with a flourish, shaking what water he could from his shaggy hair. He looked at Mina with a raised eyebrow and smiled wryly as she laughed at him.
"Hilarious, my lovely Mina. Simply hilarious." He took half a step toward her, his drenched cloak flopping against the water he was wading through. Before she had a chance to react, he managed to leap forward, landing in front of her and effectively covering her in a splash of lake water. When he resurfaced he paused, a lazy smile spreading across his face. He reached a slender place hand to Mina's cheek and caressed it gently, his golden eyes having noticed the bright shine in Mina's eyes.

Mina continued to laugh as he surfaced, clearly taken off guard - much to her delight. It was simply hysterical and she had to hold her stomach to stop it hurting. After a moment or two she covered her mouth and tried to stiffle her giggles. The raised eyebrow made her giggle harder, but perhaps it was a bit rude laughing at him. She tried hard to be quiet but failed miserably.
She stopped laughing however when he approached her, and immediately she sensed an attack on his behalf coming, but before she could take a breath and disappear under the water, he leapt toward her and completely soaked her in a wave of water. As the water calmed, she spluttered it from her mouth and blinked a few times, giggling again as she wiped her face and pulled her hair from her cheeks.
Suddenly she felt another hand on her cheek and she jumped a little, being quite sure she didn't have a third hand. Opening her aqua eyes wide, she soon relaxed when she realized it was Sungai, but a warm flow of blood soon made it's way to her cheeks as she actually noted her own sudden embarrassment.
Keeping a confident gaze on his gold eyes she smiled a small smile and spoke softly, not wishing to ruin the moment she felt he'd just created. "What do you see?" she asked him curiously.

There was indeed a kind of moment that hung heavily yet comfortably in the atmosphere around them. It was an almost picturesque moment - a couple lightly shadowed by the pale light of a cloudy moon, bound simply by an innocent cool touch on a warm cheek. A twenty-one year old man - for Sungai looked barely older than that - and a girl whose looks discouraged any attempt to guess at her age. Her aura, the image she projection was a carefree beauty that not tag of age could be put on. Sungai paused, ignoring the water that fell in small rivers along his face, ignoring the droplets that congregated about his fingers that were gently placed on Mina's cheek, and allowed a devillish smile to fall over his face as he thought of an adequate response.
"I was going to say perfection, on first glance. However, I have since discovered a few flaws in the workmanship. Although, I must admit, it is your flaws that make you so god damned interesting." He winked at her and then allowed his hand to slowly fall from her face.

Patting the water off her pants uselessly, she listened to him carefully, her smile growing just a little wider as he spoke of her flaws making her interesting. Her pants were quite near see-through now, and she waded backwards, until her hips moved under the water, making her shiver. This sparked a thought in her mind, and she turned aqua to gold again; curious.
"Sungai.." She started, a bit unsure. "Are you.." She swallowed, avoiding his gaze for a minute to watch his reflection instead. His pale skin was illuminated beautifully under the moonlight, and it pushed her to continue. "A-Are you always c-cold?" She asked quietly, a more serious note to her voice as she questioned his vampiric traits. She'd heard they all were, but what better way to know than to ask a Vampire herself?
Her arms came up to hug herself loosely and she ran her thumbs over her soaked upper-arms, sending tiny droplets of water back into the lake and causing miniature ripples that grew to large hoops around her.
