My, this place hasn't changed at all.
Isaac wandered aimlessly through the Forest, for once opting to walk instead of fly, or jump from tree to tree like some kind of ninja. He had been away a long time, making it an even longer time since he had taken the simple time to walk through the Forest, if only to enjoy the scenery.
Isaac paused and stretched, wrinkling his nose, "Still smells the same, definitely." He stepped over the carcass of some long-dead animal, its sides ripped open and its entrails ripped out. Had he been a student, he might have found pause in the savagery of the killing, but as a demon, he found it incredibly amusing.
"Lycan's are getting more subtle in their 'Keep Out' signs." He mused aloud and walked on, simply enjoying the leisurely stroll in the woods.

The crunch of her booted stiletto's in the snow was loud enough for any demonic being to hear a good yard away, not that it seemed to bother her in the slightest. Long strands of ivory-soft hair trailed behind her gracefully as she walked, weaving her way between the trees to pin-point whomever's voice it was that she had heard commenting on the familiarity of the forest. Her dress now consisted of a rose-cream corsétted dress, it's ruffles coming no lower than mid-thigh. A black garter strap ran up her leg, inching higher than the black knee-high's she still wore. Coal coloured lace tied together the front of her corsét, and adorned the trim of it fancily. This apparel took the place of her old black and magenta gown. Rounding the trunk of a tree, she spotted none other than the demon Isaac, and approaching him as a silouette in the wintery abyss, she heard him comment on the deceased animal torn to pieces half under the layer of snow. "It was not the Lycans." She said to him as she stopped walking a few meters away, resting her hip against a tree trunk as her arms came to cross over her chest. There was something cynically perverted swirling about in Mai's mind. Whether it was an impartial content at seeing him return, or a malicious fog of bored importance floating about in her mind. The demoness could not seem to take her garnet eyes of his, for she was well aware that he could see. Mai was also well aware of how he declared to the rest of this earth that he could see, and uplifted his cocky attitude a few levels with the new discovery. It was what Mai had though to be a gift. The demoness, however, had soon realised it was a mistake, that she had made. A mistake she was very willing to undo. Much to Isaac's naivity.

"It was not the Lycans."
Isaac pivoted on one booted heel, having long since become used to having people, and Mai in particular, come from concealment. As he pivoted, his face took on a benign smirk as he surveyed the demoness, resting against a nearby tree much like she was.
"You haven't changed either, Madame." He made a slight, courtly bow of his head towards Mai, a gesture that was destroyed by the smirk that refused to leave off his face. "Still wandering about in the briefest of outfits, despite the weather. Tut tut, you'll get frostbite." He said tauntingly.
Then, his voice died as he surveyed her cold, calculating gaze, and how they were locked upon his own emerald orbs, and finally, the smirk died from his features, replaced by a wary sense of concentration. "Why are you staring like that?"

OOC: May I join?
bic:Vanety found herself walking in the forbidden forest once again. Her body shivered from the cold breeze that would blow every once in a while. She heard a two people talking and decided to walk over and see them. She held her body tight to keep the cold out, her wings moved from time to time. When the two came into veiw they looked as if they were demons. "Hi." Vanety stammered out. She waved hopping the two demons would be nice enough to wave back. When she looked closer one of them looked like she has seen her before. She paid not attention to that and just waited for them to reply.
Vanety stood there in silence. She has never had and encounter with a demon before and did not know how they would act around her. Her eyes glowed a bright gold. She did not want to be so quick to judge them though. It would be nice to have a demon for a friend, Vanety thought. She just gave a gentle smile and looked at them. Where have I seen her before, Vanety though. SHe could not remember but it seemed as if the answer was right there in front of her.

{ooc}: I'm assuming you don't know me very well? {bic}: The courtly bow of his head was responded to with a mere chuckle and shapely brow raised to the canopy. His comment on her outfit made her arms across her chest tighten, showing a deeper crevice of cleavage as her eyebrow lowered in nothing less than a mock-seduction. "Frostbite's got nothing when you're this hot." She replied, letting wisp of pale smoke unravel from her tongue purposely. The dampening in his tone came much to Mai's delight. For a moment there she had almost considered him blind again, but oh no, he had seen the spark of intent in her eyes. "Why are you staring like that?" She heard an underlying stammer in that tone, and she knew she had him right where she wanted him. In the crux of manipulation. But before the demoness could take action, another being made herself present. Foolishly. Mai's ivory tresses weaved like snakes around her hips, tickling her senses into the knowledge that there was a faerie nearby. "Hi." Mai swiveled on her own stiletto heel to face the creature, and a maniac grin settled on her features. How very perfect. The faerie waved, and the demoness took that opportunity to race forward and grasp the fay's arm. Raising her free hand to waver her fingers mockingly, she jerked her other hand with unmeasurable force and tore the faerie's arm right out of it's socket. Snapping the arm again in two, at the joint of the elbow, Mai let the blood spray over her corsét and discarded the arm onto the forest floor, rounding her vicious gaze on the faerie. " Go home." She hissed venomously, silently urked that the faerie had the cheek to enter the only place Mai could call an abode when the winged mortal had her own realm dedicated entirely to her kind. It was nothing less of rude. Rubbing the blood of the faerie between her fingers, Mai faced Isaac once more; the colour of the spilt crimson on her hands painting a precise replica of the red swirling in her eyes. "I am staring like this because I have been waiting for you, Isaac." She said sharply, yet whispered his name with an ethereal poise of her lips. She stepped up close to him now; their noses inches apart. There was something surprising about to take place, and if that faerie had any sense, she would have collected up her broken appendage and left as fast as her pretty little wings could carry her.

For a single foolish, Isaac allowed himself to... rationalize with his lower extremities. A slow smile spread across his face as he briefly contemplated the various fantasies that any warm-blooded male would have when faced by Mai.
Then reality whacked him upside the head with all the subtlety of a cold mackerel. "Oh s***." He muttered, and practically threw himself backwards, away from Mai and deeper into the Forest. He knew the look in her eyes.... the one she got just before something REALLY bad happened. "Oh s*** oh s***." He didn't kid himself into thinking that he could take her. Power with demons was like a wine, the longer you were one, the stronger you became.
In short, Mai had power in spades.
"Oh s*** oh s***." His feet actually left the ground, moving from running to flying at breakneck speeds, dodging about trees and the like, anything to escape the demonic fury.

Vanety stood up grasping her arm in horrible pain. "What did I ever do to you?" Her eyes were a light gold. Her face was pale, she had lost a lot of blood. Before the Demon could answer Vanety turned around and started to fly off into the distance. She still held onto her arm to try to stop the bleeding. Her eyes would open and close slightly. When she was far enough away she couldn't hold on anymore. She stopped flying and fell onto a large tree branch.
Vanety laid there for a while and closed her eyes to try and forget about the pain. "What did I do? What did I do?" Vanety kept repeating herself over and over until she knocked out unconcious.

Mai closed her eyes as Isaac cursed, and a quaint chuckle made her shoulders quiver. She was not about to bother answering the faerie, not that it mattered anyway, since the faerie had disappeared as valuble instincts must have told her to. Opening her garnet eyes again, Mai traced a pattern of Isaac's movements, darting through the air from tree to tree, until it became almost predictable. One could only move in a certain area so many ways, so many times. The forest was his area, and Mai knew it, and him, all too well.
Her chuckle broke into a laugh, perhaps a lot louder and more haunting than he surely would have liked. Her hands moved away from her sides slightly, and a sharp slice of her magnificent ebony wings sounded a challenge in the air. They flexed widely, taking up a space twice her body length, before retracting and bending forward at an angle; flapping to lift her off the ground.
"Oh, Isaac." She called tauntingly, ripping through the air again with those massive wings until snow flew from the earth below her. Clenching her fingers into fists, she sprang into action and raced through the trees, the wind billowing from her wings causing tree branches to fall naked of snow, and snowflakes to reappear as the snow in the area was tossed wildly around by the air currents.
She spotted him up ahead and her knees bent, arms reaching out to him. "Watch out." She hissed. That and the swoosh of her wings was the only warning as she rocketted toward him, her thumbs bent inward and directed right at his.. eyes. An enormous break sounded throughout the forest as Mai drove her body against Isaac's, hurtling him back-first into a thick tree trunk; the nails and tips of her thumbs embedded painfully through his pupils.
As shockwaves and gravity deepened her thumbs in his eyes, she ruptured his irises, and with a firm grip on the rest of his skull, she pushed him down to a sitting position; back against the tree with her straddled in his lap. Her ivory tresses fell forward around the both of them as she leaned close to him, carefully bringing her thumbs out of his eyes where two ugly holes remained. A press of both her palms over those eye sockets - as though she were closing the eyes of the dead - and the holes repaired themselves. Though he was still bleeding profusely, and permanently rendered blind.
Now, the demoness moved her hands gently down to cup his jawline and raised his chin just a little; the blood streaming down onto his chest and her corsét. Her expression was looser now, a delicate look in her scarlet orbs. The last thing Isaac would have seen was perhaps a spray of snowflakes, the eruption of black wings, and the demoness, Mai, reaching out for him; an unspeakable depth hidden in her eyes.

"NO"
The words shot forth from Isaac's lips like a cannon, his hands balling into fists. He lashed out at Mai, fists striking her in the sternum and stomach, knocking her off his lap.
"NO!" He shouted, rising to his feet. Pale fingers reached up, clawing at his eyelids, as if willing them to open again, to let him seeagain. He scratched obsessively, feverishly, and when he finally lowered his hands, his fingers came away warm and wet; wet with his own blood.
"NOOOOOOO!" The anguish, the despair, all of it lent strength to Isaac's voice as it lashed out with the intensity of an un-dammed river. He flung his arms out wildly, splattering nearby trees with droplets of his own blood. The splattered crimson sizzled as it impacted upon bark, as if the demon's bodily fluids knew his boiling hatred.
Isaac's blood-stained fists clenched and unclenched, the demon bringing his arms close, as if to hug himself. His entire body trembled, trembled with the ordeal of locking up all his turbulent emotions inside.
How... how could you...
"HOW COULD YOU!!!!!!" With a roar of primal fury, Isaac's defenses broke, and, like a flower opening its petals in blossom, flames blossomed from Isaac's core. With the speed that only fire can accomplish, fiery hatred spread around Isaac like his own, hellish flower, obliterating trees and animals alike. Flames raged on and on, though they seemed to hold back after awhile, like they had reached their limit.
Finally, with the abruptness of a doused candle, the entire conflagration simply... vanished, leaving a charred circle of Forest nearly a quarter mile in diameter. At its center, Isaac slowly fell to his knees, hands now pressed to his face in sorrowful shame. Between his fingers leaked blood... blood mixed with his own tears.

Mai flinched as Isaac struck her, her body flinging off him and hitting the ground hard. She glanced up at him, her eyes widening just slightly before she curled up and arched her powerful wings over herself; protecting herself. She heard his cries, and clenched the snowy ground with her hands, scrunching up to disappear entirely under those enormous wings. Warm blood melted the snow as it fell beside Mai, eating through to the earth in a scorching anger. Her own eyes closed, and she swallowed a hook of fear tugging at her insides, dipping her cheek to rest against the earth underneath her dome of black feathers. Waiting until his wrath had calmed to a fiery lull. "HOW COULD YOU!!!!!!"He roared, and she let out a gasp, shaking slightly, as her wings tightened around her frame. She knew he was furious, but it had been something she had to do. And that was what Mai kept whispering to herself over and over again, and it echoed around her, smoothing her jittery nerves to a tranquil serenity. " I had to do it...I had to do it..." She repeated quietly. Piles of snow avalanched from trees as Isaac let out a wave of fury over the forest, and the demoness bit down on her bottom lip as she felt flames scathe the tops of her wings. The snow in the area disappeared entirely, to be replaced by smoking charcoal and ash, everywhere. Slowly, very slowly, Mai lifted the charred edges of her wings, and spied Isaac through her curtain of cream-white tresses. He was on his knees, and although she had difficulty seeing beyond the blood pouring down his face, she knew by his quivering shoulders that he was crying. The demoness took on a timid demeanor, and she lifted her upper half so she too sat on her knees. Looking around at the damage, she carefully folded her own wings behind her back, wincing as they rubbed together before disappearing. Mai crawled over to Isaac cautiously, settling back on her toes and knees and reaching out with silk-soft fingers to pry his hands from his eyes and face. She inhaled, a smokey taste, and her thumbs delicately brushed over his cheeks once, wiping the blood and tears away. Although her insides still shook a little from what she knew the demon before her might do, she snaked her fingers around Isaac and pulled him into an embrace, whispering a soothing collection of words by his ear. "Shhh now Isaac, it's all over.."

Deep in the forest, deeper than any sane human would venture, there was a spot, seemingly barren of all life, and of all snow. The earth there charred and steaming, blackened by weeks of slow burning embers that seemed to house a slumbering creature in the midst of it all.
The creature was huge, enormous really, though all curled up and slumbering as it was, it fit perfectly in the ten acres of charred earth. Its leathery skin, as black as the deepest shadow, its massive wings folded against its huge, motionless body. The only sign that it still lived, was the rhythmic rise and fall of its back as it hibernated peacefully in perfect slumber, to await the return of spring when the weather would change, the snow banished to the other side of the world, when once again, it could rise and walk the earth in its other form without freezing to death.
Visions entered the mind of the sleeping giant this night; disturbing and sad visions crept in to disturb its peace. The hellish sound of a voice dear to it, enraged with fury and pain, causing the creature to growl, deep within its throat, emitting a short blast of flame as it snorted, but still slumbered on. In its mind, it was well aware of what had happened, well aware of why it had to happen as well and so held no harsh feelings to the black winged creature that had done the deed that harmed its loved one.
The ground beneath the dragon shifted and shook violently and its eyes snapped open, elongated pupils black against the bright emerald pools that surrounded them looked sluggishly about as it lifted its head from the ground and then let out an earthshaking roar that would be heard throughout the realm by any who had ears. Only a very few would know who it was behind the return, anguished roar of the mighty dragon, and only one, would take to heart, perhaps two, that she knew, that she had witnessed the entire show in her minds eye.
Kalista shifted her wings slightly and then lowered her head back to the ground. This was not her time; it was not her place to interfere. Mai had every right and if need be, he would find her… for now she would return to her slumber, though wanting to go to him would haunt her sleep, perhaps a bit of pain would fill her dreams and when she did awake fully, to once again grace the earth with her presence, she would have her Isaac back, the one she had loved, and not, the one who had taken over in her absence.
{Ooc: Just a cameo, I will see you all in the spring... Love the thread, please continue. }

Eventually, Isaac's shoulder's stopped shaking with emotional pain. His sobs became softer, and his weak attempts to push Mai away subsided. Instead, his head just leant forward, sweat-soaked forehead coming to a rest against the shoulder of her dress, leaving a dark semicircle of perspiration on the fabric.
"It is over, isn't it." He murmured through stilled lips, as if his body was trying to resist admitting defeat. Silently, he stared down at Mai's skin, though he saw only darkness... darkness once again.
With a rippling of neck muscles, he raised his head, hair swishing momentarily from his eyes. "Why?" He said, voice cracking lightly as it gained a momentary note of strength. Isaac pushed, freeing himself from Mai's embrace, and rose shakily to his feet.
"Why?" He asked again, louder. He drew back both hands, clenching fists that abruptly blossomed into flame, like a pair of fiery eyes staring down at Mai. Blood bubbled and burnt from his fingers, lending a raw stench to the already burnt air.
"WHY?!" He roared, for a moment seeming like his former self again, looking down upon the 'puny' Mai.

Vanety saw every inch of pain and wound tht was given between the two. Tears fell from her eyes with sarrow. "How horrible." Vanety wisperd to herself. Her elegaint finger covered her mouth slightly. "Why are they so cruel to themselvs. The horrer."
"STOP!!!!" Vanety screamed. She could not inflict anymore pain. Tears fell like a waterfall. She fell from the tree to the ground. Rising slowly. "Please if it helps kill me not eachother." Vanety did not want to see people be so mean to eachother. "Please just stop." She covered her eyes, still tears slipped through her fingers.

Mai traced her fingers up Isaac's neck and entwined them in his sweaty hair as he rest his forehead on her shoulder. She ushered him silent as he acknowledged her claim, and a moment later, she loosened herself from him as he pulled away and stood. The demoness grew immediately edgy, quickly remembering her position on the ground. When Isaac clenched his fists and they exploded into flames, Mai gasped and crawled backwards.
Her expression soon shifted however, to that of distant impatience. She also rose, and in a single stride stood right before him once more. Grasping his boiling hands in her own, she extinguished the flames around his fingers, leaving her own unscathed.
She had always been hotter than him.
He dared to raise his voice at her, and she harshly backhanded him across the cheek, sending him backwards. Remaining where she stood, the demoness' eyes flashed a cold silver and she growled at him. "Because that was the only gift you ever had!" Her anger flared and she spun to face the fallen faerie, collecting the distance between them in five dangerously quick paces.
"This is no place for a weak heart. Get out." The demoness snarled to the faerie, letting ripples of heated tension swirl in her eyes; a painted warning that the faerie had only moments to spare. There were indeed horrible events that happened in the forest, but none could compare to the wrath of a demoness, should she be fittingly provoked. This did not appear Mai's intention at all, though it was very clear in both her words and her expression that she was growing very impatient at the faerie. Faeries had their own realm for a reason: nearly all of them were not fit to even witness, let alone be victim of, a demonic fight. No creature was.
Stepping away from the faerie, Mai's eyes scanned Isaac for a mere moment, before she moved away from him too. Her arms wrapped around herself, holding her stomach loosely as she stood with her back to the two others; her breath leaving her body softly as she slowly gained control over her emotions. Her anger.

"My ONLY gift?"
Isaac spun on one heel, hand coming out to automatically balance his center of gravity. Said hand impacted a nearby tree, and without consciously meaning to, ripped a sizable portion out of the trunk and leaving a fist-sized divot, like an unfinished beaver project.
"Ow." Isaac muttered quietly, bringing said hand close to his chest. He had gotten a series of splinters, which opened into a sizable gash in the edge of his palm. While he pressed a flame-covered digit to the wound, he raised his head towards where Mai stood.
"Is that so?" He asked haughtily, advancing on the back-turned demoness. He raised his good hand, as if prepared to deliver a crushing slap to Mai's cheek. He'd knock some sense into her, count on it.
Then, his step faltered as he came to a crushing realization..., Mai had taken away the only gift of his, at least from her. She had flinched away from everything he had done, save when he raised a hand against her. "It..... wasn't easy, was it?" He asked softly, hand lowering of its own accord. He stopped a few paces away, head drooping once again to 'stare' at the ground.
