All this time, I cant believe I couldn't see. Kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me. He walked. A rarity for him, but he walked. Granted, he by now means needed to walk, but somehow, Isaac felt like he needed the....solitude of a solo hike. His cane trimmed the surface of the dirt, marking out a clear path in his mind. He continued on, weaving mundanely about rocks and other obstructions, continuing on his silent traipse through the woods. Heading towards what, he didn't know.

Heading towards Mai. Clad in her usual, the ivory-haired demoness sifted her fingers out of her gloves, sliding them down the gap at the top of her corsét and letting her smooth skin envelope itself over and over as she laced her hands. Stepping down off the fallen tree she was seated upon, the demoness walked quietly - but audibly - out on front of Isaac's path, forcing him to stop, whether his intentions were so or not. "Do you wish you could..." She trailed off, her voice a mere whisper above the drill of crickets in the forest and the creaking of weak branches above in the canopy. It was almost pitch black, and for that time of each and almost every night, Mai had to witness that same blackened veil that cloaked the eyes of the Demon before her. Blind sight. Her lips let his imagination wonder what she was in fact going to continue saying, but she left him with only the knowledge that his answer was to be either 'yes', or 'no'. If he asked 'what', she would not answer, and this charactersitic of her, he should have known well by now. Those who knew her, had to work to know her, and had to work to keep knowing her. She wasn't easy.

It was a quick sift, like a fisherman's net dipping into the stream for bait. Isaac's powers of telepathy, bestowed upon him by Danawi, seized upon the one word she had left out. see "There isn't a day I dont." He replied softly, face tilting slightly to 'address' Mai correctly.

Her hand came up gently to hold his cheek and tilt his face back up straight. She smiled a faint smile; he still knew her well enough.
Her scarlet eyes flashed silver, then back to that deep carmine abyss, she knew he couldn't see this, but the colour change in her eyes was always a hint to her intentions. Silver was sharp, scarlet was warm.
Suddenly her hand dropped from his cheek and she stepped back, raising her chin a little higher. "Why?" She hissed.
{ooc}: By f***ing heavens, that's about the worst post I've written in my life. -growls-

A gentle caress. Warm. Inviting.
His came up, fingers gently curling about hers. "All this time, and you still have to ask why?" He asked softly.
A gentle caress. And all wrong.
He plucked her hand away from his face, as if he was being seared by her touch. "I feel so.... limited." For once, his voice did not carry the strength of the cocksure demon, but that of the boy that still existed as a part of him, the human.
The weakling. The blind weakling.

The blind weakling. The only part of him she adored.
Her orbs burnt into him, daring him to confess more, to confess how he really felt all the time. She raised her hand again, this time brushed the back of her fingers against his lips, testing him, perhaps even trying to make him flinch. He could hit her away, he could push her, he knew where she was, he didn't need eyes to feel her.
Mai's hand moved away from him again and she walked around to stand behind him, studying him further, perhaps intimidating him, probably irritating him. She slid her hands around his temples and let her powder-soft skin rest on the outer lids of his eyes, her touch warm against the flowing blood in those paper-thin veils of flesh that covered his weakness. His blindness.
"I think it's beautiful." She whispered in his ear, her chin suddenly resting on his shoulder while the soft underside of her fingers remained pressed against his always closed eyes.

Beautiful
In an almost desperate frenzy, Isaac broke away from Mai, stumbling a few paces away.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Isaac said quakingly.
I couldn't see her.
"Beauty means nothing to me!" He said, "I held it in my arms, and I couldn't see it." His voice pitched slightly higher, by pain or despair, one couldn't tell.
"When Kalista-" His voice broke, unable to continue. He opened his mouth again, "When you-" His voice broke again, as did the rest of him.
He fell to his knees, body racking with dry sobs.

Mai hissed, swerving away from him as he broke away. He stumbled, and she walked around him once more, like a wolverine would do to her prey, a child would to a spider, a demoness would to a demon. She tucked strands of her cream-silk hair behind her ear and moved closer again, moving in for the kill. "Beauty means nothing to me!""Beauty means everything to you." Came her instant reply, dark and cold. He mentioned Kalista, and Mai's lips raised their edges in a warm smile; oh yes, she indeed loved that demoness too. Kalista made Isaac a demon, she took from him that edge of humanity that tore all others to death, she made him immortal, and she saved him from certain death; Mai. He then spoke of Mai, but cut himself short and fell to his knees. Mai raised her chin once more; a show of catious dominance, and she approached him, this time from the front. Her fingers snaked past his ear, clasping a lock of that devilish hair before her other hand grabbed his throat, and pushed him backward until he was flat to the dirt; his cane several inches from him on the forest floor. "When I what?" She whispered, moving her hand from his hair to his chest where she held him down, straddling him with her thighs and placing her other hand firmly over his eyes. A sickly pale glow radiated from under that hand, even a whispy red smoke began forming around his eye sockets, but she kept her hand there, causing no pain; if anything, she was lifting all pain from him. Her grip with her thighs relaxed slightly, and her hair fell forward as she closed her eyes, fighting the weakness that now consumed her instead. The hand over his eyes began to quiver, and her soft skin grew rougher, but she kept it there. Hold on..."Adaperio tuus oculis.. Adaperio tuus oculis.. Adaperio tuus oculis.. Adaperio tuus oculis." She chanted almost silently, her lips barely moving as she winced, her body beginning to sway slightly and her grasp on him becoming weaker. An incredible burst of neon gold covered Isaac's eyes, and the underneath of Mai's hand, blinding anyone who didn't have their eyes closed. And after that faded, the demoness let out a hardly audible breath and collapsed on the earth beside the demon. He had the gift of sight. For the first time in his life, both mortal and immortal, the boy who'd adjusted to a cane, the man who'd been so flawless without it, could now see everything.
He could now see beauty. {ooc}: Translation: Open your eyes.

A new sensation.
Light.
Weakly, Isaac's eyes fluttered open, unveiling pupils of a pale, emerald green.
"W-wow." That was the only thing that he could think of saying, as he took in the world around him for the first time. For several minutes, he simply gazed about, drinking in his surroundings until he was filled to bursting.
Then, he rolled his head sideways slightly, to thank Mai, and his breath caught in his throat. As he gazed upon Mai, he could only think of one word to describe her, the word he had so easily discarded only moments before.
Beautiful.
"Mai, wake up." He said softly, reaching a hand over to cup her smooth, flawless cheek.
