Red watched with a slight throb of longing at the ease in which Adia cast a careless shield to cover the both of them. It was undeniable that Red missed her magic, her power. Although in a small consolation she had retained slight weavings of it in her blood, but nothing incredibly powerful and killing. She did that with her bare hands now.
Red observed every movement that Adia made as she stalked over to the fallen tree branch and leant against that, then slipped up onto the branch to sit. She met the unpassioned glance with firm eyes and only moved to brush a lock of her freshly red hair from her deeper red eyes.
"I want to know what you've entangled yourself in. You can tell me, you realise? Perhaps I may be able to give some sort of aid," Red added the last two sentences more out of courtesy than for any other reason. She knew that if Adia wanted her help, it would be asked, or subtlely implied in conversation. Adia didn't need to ask Red directly. They understood one another.

The longing glance did not escape Adia's notice, nor did the insistency with which Red asked to know Adia's business. She needn't have pressed so hard upon the girl; Adia had been longing to share her new destiny with someone for a long time.
"A creature of incredible power came to the school some time ago. Nobody knew of his arrival until it was too late - he attacked the Headmistresses in their sleep and managed to steal Wilting Rose's memory. He meant to steal both of them, but a Valkerie prevented him from doing so. About a week later from this incident, he prepared a ritual to call those inclined to darkness. Naturally, I answered." A ghost of a smile flickered across Adia's strained features. "He told us all a story of prophecies and promised glories, a world without good, that would begin here, with us."
Adia shook her head slowly. "I'm not sure why we believed him, or why I submitted myself so easily to his will - but I was right to. He gifted me with superperception, enhancing all my senses, and adding the sixth. He gave the others other powers. We used them to gain more followers, until we had an army. We prepared for battle, under his harsh hand. A few days ago he gave us the greatest gift of all - access to his own powers. He trained us well, and divided us into three teams - an attack team, a defence team, and an undercover team. I was in the attack team. Tonight he gave us our orders - and we began to fight for our right to the school. We intended to take it over, getting rid of Claire's power over it, and turn it into a school of darkness that would eventually bleed into the entire world. It is his destiny; and now it is mine."
Adia's black eyes shone with dark passion. She cared not what her friend thought of her destiny; she had suffered too long and too hard to get here, she was going to see it through. And then kill that Vampire once she was done.
