Adia appeared from the shadows, her clothes torn and the side of her face looking like it had encountered a near miss with some powerful flames. Her black eyes flashing, she looked around, knowing that her fellow followers were hiding somewhere. However, she knew that there may be more than just Danawi's followers hiding in the undergrowth. She may even have been followed here.
The attack on the school was still underway, but felt she should return to inform those left behind of how it was progressing - they had encountered a little trouble with a demonic being, but so far nobody had been severely hurt, and some had escaped to start distractions in other parts of the school. She had no idea how well Isaac and the others were getting along in encapturing Headmistress Claire, but had heard no warning to suggest it was going badly.
"Come on, show yourselves," she muttered under her breath, waiting for someone, either friend or foe, to appear.

Ace lay waiting. He wasn't even sure what he was waiting for, but he had been waiting for almost an hour. The absence of life in this area of the Forest had come to his attention several days before, and he was certain that this was where he could begin to undo whatever plot needed undoing - but he had never in his life expected to once again be confronting the only person he knew had anything to do with the darkness that was intruding upon Magic Horizons.
"Hello Adia," said Ace calmly, walking out of the thicket of trees. He was well aware that after their last confrontation, this could be the last time he ever said anything to anyone, let alone Adia, but he wasn't going to change his style now just because he might be taking his final steps. Being the lurking, creeping, whispering, slightly insane Vampire was never his cup of tea, although it was the preferred state of mind of the majority of Vampires at Magic Horizons.
Ace fixed his gaze upon the war-grazed girl. He made no move to attack, but waited for her response.

Sensing a strange prickling beneath her skin, the flames came far too easily from Adia's pale hands. Her hand aflame, she whirled around as she heard his voice, her solid black gaze locking with his irritatingly calm stance.
"Hello, Ace," hissed Adia, filling with a hatred unlike any she had ever felt before. Why did he plague her so? Everywhere she went, this cursed Vampire was there to ruin her plans, to damn her spirit - but this was one time she would not let him foil her. This night wasn't about her, it was about Danawi and the future of Magic Horizons, and not even Ace could spoil it. She wouldn't let him.
Throwing out both her hands, a torrent of flames flew towards the still figure of the Vampire, engulfing his entire body with the red-hot frustration streaming from her outstretched palms.

As Ace saw Adia's hands flare up, he took in a breath... of relief.
Her flames washed over him, licking uneffectively at his pale skin. Surrounded by raging oranges, reds and yellows, he merely looked past them as they tried desperately to engulf him, and looked into the anger-filled orbs of Adia's eyes. There was something so deep, dark and desperate inside her, and couldn't for the life of him figure out what it was.
As the flames died away, the Vampire was left standing there, every last inch of him unharmed.
"If you'd given me more than a second, I could have told you that your power won't work on me anymore," said Ace, his expression unreadable. "I found an interesting little Potion in one of my books that protects against the power of the Elements... I believe that means you." He smiled.

Adia's hollow black eyes widened - it was clear to see the fury etched all over her youthful, too-pale face. She lowered her arm, shaking with suppressed rage. Although she couldn't use her elemental power on the Vampire, every inch of her crackled with flaming reds sparks - she couldn't control it.
"Fine then," she hissed, her thin lips curving into a smile. "You think that's all I've got? Our Master has given us powers you can hardly concieve of..."
Without a word, she shimmered into the darkness, disappearing before the Vampire's very eyes. In less than a second she was stood behind Ace. She surveyed his figure, and noted with some interest that he carried no weapon that she could see - his fangs were useless against an Elemental Being, so how exactly was he planning on stopping her?
"So what's the big plan, Ace-y?" she mocked from behind him, flicking her long plait over her shoulder and placing her delicate hands on her hips. "No weapons... you think you can stop me, stop us, without anything to defend yourself? I could kill you right here if I wanted to. And even if you did manage to kill me - there are more of us than you can imagine. They are on their way to the school now, killing and destroying anything in their path. I should be the least of your worries."
With another laugh, she threw out her hands - from them, long black vines shot out and wrapped themselves around Ace. The vine leaves were sharp and jagged and cut into his flesh. She wrenched the vines forward, causing the Vampire to fall over.

A black panther shimmered unfocused behind the fallen Ace. Adia! She purred into the follower's head. Save this nonsense for another time. The troops are regathering. You are needed.
The panther disappeared as quickly as it had come.

Adia's black eyes flashed angrily at the intrusion, and her entire body was aglow with a fiery light as she heard what the panther had to say.
She turned to Ace, who was on the ground, unable to move as the vines ripped into his flesh. "Stay, Vampire - you may be safe for a few hours, but I can promise you that I will return. I'm not done with you yet."
With a twisted smile, she stepped back into the shadows and followed the panther, melting into darkness, leaving Ace alone.

Ace growled and cursed loudly as the black vines knocked him down and cut into his skin. Looking down, he could see the razor edge of the leaves caught in the sinews of his flesh. With a ragged breath, he tried to burst the vines by exerting all his strength against them, but they barely moved, the bladed leaves pushing even further into his pale skin, trickles of blood running freely and soaking into his shirt, dying it red.
Ace allowed a moment to wonder how many times he had lost a shirt to his own blood, before casting a glance around the Forest. But he knew it was no use... he would just have to wait for Adia to return, and he knew, without a trace of feeling, that he would not live the night through.

The student rustled through the underbrush, frantically searching. “Rezzie,” he moaned to the blonde girl behind him. “How could you do this to me? My beautiful new broomstick....”
The two were already deep into the forest, and there had been no sign of the unintentionally bewitched broom. He had already tried summoning it with an accio spell without result. One of two things must have happened. Either it was stuck somewhere in the underbrush, or something was keeping it from its owner. Neither possibility was very appealing. He muttered something similar to “This is all your fault” and continued his fruitless search.

Rezna's intense green eyes scanned the depths of the forest for any danger. She honestly did not care about Aylen's broom and would rather have just bought him a new one than go searching for it in the woods. Still, it had been her fault that her friend's prized possession landed there and felt inclined to help him find it.
A rustling to her right caused her hand to fly down for her wand. Identifying the source of the sound to be a bird, her body relaxed. She felt odd, unnerved, by the dead trees around them and could not wait to get out of there.
As her eyes swung forward again, movement ahead of them caused her left arm to dart out and grab at Aylen causing him to stop. Tilting her head, the Hufflepuff tried to pick out what was moving on the ground among the underbrush.
"Aylen," she finally gasped out, "there's someone there." With her wand still in her right hand, she pointed in the direction of the now unmoving figure. She couldn't tell what it was, but deadly curiosity lead her to let go of Aylen and walk a few steps forward to get a better view.
"My god," she gasped out and hurried toward the shape on the ground with silent footsteps. As she neared the body, she could tell that the person was bleeding from the vines that entwined his body. Not sure who it was, the girl only knew that he needed help. In the back of her mind, a small voice told her that she was putting herself and her friend in great danger by doing that. For she did not know if the back of the figure before her was friend or foe. Still, the stains of blood on the man's shirt and puddles of it on the ground below him erased all such thoughts in the girl's mind.

The redhead had been about to open his mouth to complain some more, when the blonde suddenly clutched at his right arm. Something in the urgency of the grip caused him to remain silent. His green gaze watched his friend's face closely, then followed her pointed wand. Those same eyes widened as they registered what the girl had been pointing to.
"Good merlin," he gaped. He stepped forward, less cautiously than the Hufflepuff. "Is he--are you alright?" The Gryffindor had the sense of mind to have his hand at his wand. The forest was forbidden for a very good reason, and that reason was lying right in front of them both.
Had the victim been less humanoid, Aylen knew he would have run. However, appearances were decieving. He would have freed him right away had they been anywhere but here.

Ace had been lying still, unmoving, slipping in and out of uneasy consciousness. It was easier to slip away - when Adia returned, bringing death with her, he might not even have to witness it. Though, knowing her, she would ensure he was awake for it.
As he was drifting somewhere between two realities, he heard footsteps. For a moment he assumed it was a hallucination, a hopeful creation of his imagination, and remained still. But as voices reached his ears, he managed to jerk himself awake and suddenly rolled over, his bloodshot eyes landing upon two figures standing over him. He could not make out their form properly, and closed his eyes again.
"Help me..." he rasped, breathing raggedly. He knew they might not help him, he knew they could be, for all he knew, acquaintances of Adia's sent here to finish the job for her. But either way, he had to try...
"Please help - they're going to destroy everything..." Ace tried to move again, but the leaves pressed once more into his raw flesh, and he roared in pain, baring his fangs unwittingly to his visitors.

Rezna watched in horror as the figure on the ground rolled to face Aylen and herself. The girl's breath caught in her throat as she took in the pained expression on his face as well at the dreadful feeling of recognition that came with it.
Jumping around Aylen, she fell to the ground before the man gasping out only one word, "Professor!" The Hufflepuff pointed her wand toward the murderous vines and directed all her strength and will into the only spell she knew that could set her teacher free.
"Diffindo!" she cried out violently. She kept her eyes off the man trying to avoid looking into the pained face of her Professor and his bared fangs. Before, she did not pay the slightest attention to the fact that he was not entirely human. Now as he roared in pain, there was a subconscious nagging in her mind, one that she forced her mind to ignore.
"Diffindo!" she cried again as the first attempt seemed to do no good. The second time yielded a small amount of results. The vines loosed their deadly grip on the Professor but did not let him go completely.
Turning, Rezna gave Aylen a look filled with urge, command, and helplessness all at once. "Help me!" she said more quietly this time for now she was more on edge then before when she was simply walking in the forest. Her Professor's pained words ran through her mind as if they were on a broken record.
"Please help - they're going to destroy everything..." [/i]
Apparently there were others in danger besides the Professor.

Ondrea was going for a stroll, a fair distance away from the forest, when out of the corner of her eye, she saw people entering the forest. Turning around to see who they were, instantly she remembered them, Rezna and Aylen. She couldn't let them go in there... remembering her last experience in that forest, it gave Ondrea the chills. Running as fast as possible, letting out the odd, "Rezna! Aylen!" she chased after them, but obviously they couldn't hear her, she was too far away.
By the time she had reached the out-skirts of the forest, she knew they probably were quite far into the depths, but she wasn't just going to stop there. Taking a deep breath, she dug into her pocket and took out her wand. Flipping her black hood over her head as she cautiously entered the forest, I won't be as visible this way... lucky I wore all black Ondrea thought, feeling around in her hoodie pocket, for her pocket-knife.
Branches snapped as she walked, giving Ondrea an un-easy feeling, it was an easy give-away to her presence. Ondrea listened for any sound, but none was heard, it was a bit of an eerie silence, which made Ondrea even more worried.
Getting more and more tempted to call out for Aylen and Rezna, as she walked deeper into the dark forest, she finally heard some voices. Repeating the words in her head she found the voice oddly familiar Help me...
Ondrea was unsure of what to do next, what would she do if it was a follower of Danawi? Stopping to think, she heard yet another voice, undeniably, Reznas' voice, it was etched with worry.
Hurrying towards the voices, her heart skipping, they had already been found by the creatures that lived inside these forests, what was she going to do now?
Ondrea gave out a sigh of relief when she saw the two figures of Aylen and Rezna standing up, but the thing was, they were standing up around something.
Coming up from behind them, she slowly took off her hood, revealing who she was, "What the hell are you two doing her-" Ondrea stopped as she saw Ace, on the ground, vines covering him, making him bleed heavily.
Ondreas' mouth dropped open, did they (Rezna and Aylen) do this? Taking a quick glance at both of them, and then bending down on her knees, she murmured, "Did you-" but she answered herself, for one thing, they wouldn't have done this to someone, and even if they wanted to, they wouldn't be powerful enough... the only people powerful enough would be the Danawi followers.
Franticly she took out her razor-like pocketknife, and started to saw at the vine wrapped around Ace's neck, those were where the main arteries were, so she thought it would be best to stop the bleeding there first. Usually she wouldn't go doing things without others giving her the OK, but this was a matter of life and death, so she had to act as quick as possible. However, the vine was so strong, she hardly made a dent in it, but she kept on trying. After a while she had gotten half-way through it, she knew it wouldn't work in time.
She stood up frustrated, and then realized, that the places that had cuts and were bleeding, were where there were leaves, they must be the things breaking his flesh, "The leaves." she whispered under her breath.
Carefully cutting at one of the leaves, it fell to the ground, "That is the key. Do any of you have another knife, if we cut off the leaves, I think they will stop digging into him." Ondrea said, looking from Rezna to Aylen, when suddenly she remembered, "Where are the people who did this?" she asked, she hadn't even thought, they could be close by, and ready to kill them all.

Aylen involuntarily took a step backwards as the figure before him suddenly moved. The twisted expression of pain shocked him the core. Those green eyes so similar to his own sent an awful feeling down his spine. "Professor!" he began. The vampire roared, baring his fangs, but Aylen didn't notice. Even if he had, he wouldn't have cared. There was no way he would become a professor if he meant harm to any student. Help me...Please help - they're going to destroy everything... There was no way he could refuse.
His companion beat him to it, shooting spell after spell into the vicious bladed vines. Aylen took a more direct approach, grabbing the vines with his bare hands. A rather foolish mistake, but Gryffindors aren't known for their intelligence. "@$%*!" the Gryffindor swore as he sucked at his bleeding hands.
The redhead heard cracking branches and froze, his bloodied hand feeling for his wand. Ondrea appeared through the shadows, and Aylen had half a mind to strangle her for giving him such a fright. He watched as Rezna and Ondrea worked at the vines to no avail. Cutting it wasn't doing much good, and only cutting the leaves would not free him, not to mention take too much time.
He scanned the surroundings desparately. There had to be something... Aylen gritted his teeth in frustration. There was nothing but black and brown char marks...Hang on! An abrupt revelation came to the boy. There had been fire, yet Ace was not burned. "Out of the way!" he snapped, shoving both girls away unceremoniously. He pointed his wand at the vampire. "Sorry, professor," he muttered. "Inciendo!" A jet of flame roared out of his wand, surrounding the trapped man.
(ooc: We're in trouble if your potion doesn't protect against normal flame, aren't we?)
