Despite Adia's badly bruised and beaten appearance, she still seemed able to smile as Danawi's powers were flexed before his followers' eyes, in the form of torturing a loose cannon among their ranks - Ark. Her dark eyes, almost the same shade of black as Danawi's, glittered with delicious anticipation as Danawi proposed a ritual that would allow them to have a slice of his powers.
Of course, Adia could see the problems. If anyone did kill Danawi (if it was even possible to kill someone with such power within), the game would be over for the lot of them. But, it was unlikely that anyone on the good side would be able to figure out what had been done to bestow the followers with powers unlimited until it was too late. It would involve a lot of strategy and teamwork... and, looking around at the discontent within the group, Adia foresaw problems in that already.
However, she bowed her head as willingly as the others around the circle - Danawi needed her, and she desperately wanted to make up for her mistake in the Lair. "I agree, my Lord... this is an enormous sacrifice for you to make. But if you are sure, then I accept your decision."

Loki said nothing to Danawi's words, wondering vaguely if Danawi was ignoring his questions on purpose. Still, this was interesting news indeed, to be part of Danawi's own power... Of course there were weaknesses with the plan; if Danawi himself were to be killed then everything in them would fail, at least, their power would, and they would be defeated. But the benefits it offered! Danawi was powerful, very powerful, and if each student had even a small part of that...
He heeded not Ark's torture, though he filed the information away for future reference. He looked keenly at Alex, noting her similarity to Lily. Was this the sister she had spoken of? If she was here with Danawi, then very likely it was.
Still remaining silent, Loki bowed his head towards Danawi in acceptance and appreciation of the plan. He would not argue, but he wished his questions had been answered. Chailyn would be getting restless.

Isaac let out a quiet, almost inaudible hiss of annoyance as the children bickered, not two feet away from him.
Drawing one arm back, he struck both Alex and Ark across the top of the head, hard enough for it to hurt, but not enough to cause anything beyond a dull headache. "If you children," Isaac stressed the word carefully, "Do not see the wisdom in keeping your mouths shut, I will kill you, regardless of if Danawi is here or not."
Unlike the others, Isaac had his own ample reservoir of power to draw upon, and although having Danawi's power to use would be nice, he did not require it.

Post by Arvath Micail on Jun 15, 2005 17:40:07 GMT
It was late at night and the moon shone brightly on the forest. Arvath Micial had been told that there was a meeting tonight, a meeting that he had yearned to go to. Silently he ventured into the Forest, trying to find this meeting. Morgan had told him that Lord Danawi would be there, and he had important information for all his followers. This was what he wanted most of all, to serve Lord Danawi. It was the only way he could redeem his exiled family. By joining the dark side, the side which from now on would weild more power.
In the distance he could see a circle of people, standing there surrounding a dark mysterious figure. All of them seemed to have vials of pearly translucent liquid, and some of them were drinking it. Unicorn blood...Magical healing properties, at the risk of eternal curse.... Lord Danawi must be very powerful indeed to give his followers such powers. No one folled around with the killing of unicorns. Now the lord seemed to be making a proclomation. He held up an old piece of parchment, but Arvath couldn't hear what he was saying. The Lord was looking around for an answer from his followers. It was Arvath's time to show himself.
He lightly stepped out of the protection of the towering trees, and made his way into the center of the circle. Arvath could feel the eyes of all the followers glaring at him, probably wishing him death for inturrupting such an important meeting. He stopped in front of his Lord, and kneeled.
" My Lord, I am Arvath Micail of the North. Morgan may have said that I wish to serve you," he said tentatively. There was no way of knowing how such a powerful Lord would take such an entrance. Slowly, Arvath took out a sai that he had hidden in his robes, and held it in his right hand.
" I have already made a blood oath to her, and I wish to made a vow to you," he said, looking down at the ground. All of a sudden, there was a deep stillness in the air.
"I give my heart and I give my soul, I give my will and I give my strength, I swear to give my spirit and my life, To serve and to honor, My one true Master, And so on my death, I swear "
As he said this, he held out his left arm. A long jagged scar ran down his forearm, still healing from the previous cut. At the end of the oath, Arvath raised the sai in his right hand, and reopened the wound making ruby red blood gush out. He let the blood trickle down the blade, making it glow a deep red. He looked up into his Lord's face, and offered him the blade.
" Do you accept my vows, Master? Do you accept my protection, and my service for as long as I live?" he whispered fiercely.

"May have said?" Isaac said bluntly, a cruel smile spreading over his lips.
He stepped over to the boy, "So just because Morgan 'may have said' that you wish to serve Danawi? How do you expect us to trust you....someone who has no sense of background whatsoever."
He smoothly disarmed Arvath, tossing the sai aside, "So you cut yourself and claim fealty.....not much different than a drugged up dregger." He said disdainfully, and cast Arvath aside without so much as a second thought.

[glow=maroon,2,300]Alex's eyes flared red; had this insolent brat of a demon not heard what she'd just said!? Of course not; demons, excluding the panther, paid no heed to people and had no honor. Alex's mouth twitched and pursed as if she wished to spit at him, but she just narrowed her eyes at him and kept her mouth shut. He'd get his later, oh he would get his later. Right now, her duty was to Lord Danawi, and she held upmost loyalty to the Dark Lord. "Leave the child be," Alex whispered. "He has his morals and thoughts, and you have your own. The more we gather, the more we can distract the growing number of students wishing to kill us long enough to carry out our destinies. Morgan is faithful, loyal, and honorable to Lord Danawi. She would not steer him wrong." Alex stopped, having kept her eyes forward the entire time, and looked just to the side of her Lord (knowing it rude to lock eyes, and rude not to pay him his due attention).[/glow]

Evie agreed with Isaac. All of the followers here had gone through the trial of meeting Danawi on their own time, not during a private meeting. She glared at this newcomer that had interupted them. What nerve to ask to join on the eve of battle. He didn't know anything about what was going on. Evie didn't trust him. He was a fool, besides the fact. Stumbling into a circle of powerful beings with evil in their hearts. Did he really expect to be welcomed so easily?

Ark rubbed his head and glared at the demon. He turned as the newcomer entered and stifled a laugh. "The fool has no idea." he thought, smirking. He looked at Evie, examining her reaction to the kid.

Arvath looked up as a cruel voice spoke to him. This must be the Isaac, whom he had heard about. Danawi's right hand, and a very powerful demon. Isaac disarmed him, and Arvath was left kneeling unarmed. He could feel the loathing that was being thrown upon him from all the Followers, but one voice spoke out. He turned to see a brown-haired girl stand up for him. He nodded to her, thanking her. Then he faced Isaac.
" What do you want me to do then to prove myself?" he asked, standing up. " I am willing to give my life for the Lord in battle, and how do you expect me to back that up? From what I can see, you could always use more followers. Why push me away!"

"Tis' a pretty poem he quotes for you, My lord. Perhaps if he is so willing to join us, you could show him what it is like for evil to be in his soul." Evie turned to the boy standing in the circle of followers. "Would you like that? To feel what it is like to have darkness course through your body? To hate everything in the world and wish for the end?" Evie stepped closer to him, until she was inches infront of him. "Do you want your 'morals' as Alexandria put it, ripped from your body and replaced by an overwhelming desire to kill and hurt?"

Arvath's deep emerald eyes looked steadily at the girl. She seemed to despise him more than everybody else. She thought that he needed to be taught what true evil was? Morals?
" Do you think they had any morals when they exiled my family?" he spat.
" Did you think I came here on a whim? I came here to get revenge! Revenge from people like them!" he said, gesturing vaguely towards the castle. " Those goody smiling people who think they know what's best for the world. They have too much power themselves, and I came here to help take it away. True hatred towards the world and darkness? If that's what you say then yes. That's exactly what I want!"

"Do you want to see the world through blackened eyes? Do you want to lose everything you had to serve your lord? Are you willing to sacrifice yourself without a moments hestation for him? If not then you have no right to join." Ark said, standing next to Evie over the boy. "Do you want to become the darkness of which you speak?" he whispered, looking down at the boy, narrowing his eyes. "Are you ready to lose anything and everything you ever loved for the sake of this war?" he grew quiet, examining the boy.

Arvath rised his eyebrow at this new boy who had spoken. This was the same boy that had just taken a beating by Isaac. He eyed the filled vial of Unicorn's Blood in the boy's hand.
" I don't think you can tell me that," Arvath said cooly. " I believe that you didn't know where your loyalties lay a few minutes ago. And that unicorn's blood is going to waste, as is that spot in the Follower's Circle."

Post by Danawi Dassous on Jun 16, 2005 20:06:25 GMT
Danawi watched his followers squabble like the human children they inevitably were until he could take it no more.
He raised a hand, and the entire group froze in fear. Danawi smiled - he had no intention of overusing his power. Not just yet.
"I do not mind whether you join my cause at the very beginning," he said, his black eyes darting to the four figures of Adana, Morgan, Adia and Abrena, "... or the very end, so long as I have loyalty and strength from you all. What I will not tolerate is lack of unity in the ranks. You must work as a united force or we will never achieve what I have been promised. If I hear one more word of discontent between you, any of you, I will remove you from our group. Permanantly. Human weakness has foiled every evil plan since the dawn of time... but it will not foil mine. Understood?"
Without waiting for an answer, and clearly anxious to get on with what needed to be done, Danawi waved his hand once again, and an array of interspersed black and green candles surrounded the gathering of robed figures. The flames grew as Danawi's foreign tongue rolled out words that were strangely painful for the humans of the gathered group to hear. Within moments, the flames were creeping up the branches of trees surrounding them and setting alight to the dead leaves that hung limply from blackened limbs. Still, Danawi carried on, paying no heed to the burning surroundings or the terrible earache he was causing the majority of his followers - his eyes, crazed, rolled over the parchment with desperate eagerness, showing a passion from within that he had not ever revealed or perhaps even felt before in his life.
Suddenly, everything stopped. Danawi's voice cut off, abruptly, and the towering flames reduced to dying embers all in a moment's notice.
"It is done," said Danawi, his voice rasp and unforgiving, very much unlike his usual slow lulling accent. "You now contain all the powers I possess... but you must not use them until the sun rises the day after next. We cannot risk being revealed until then. Until we are all ready. I will walk you through each of my powers in a moment... but first, we must decide our plan of attack. We need three teams - one to remain in the Forest as my defence barrier, another to attack the school in general, and another to make sure a clear passageway to the Headmistress is available while the rest of the school is distracted."

Loki had remained silent and unmoving throughout the little dispute over the boy who wanted to follow Danawi. Personally, he saw no reason why Avarth should not join, and the others' immediate hatred of him seemed most out of place. Then again, with so many people all vying for power, perhaps it wasn't that surprising that any new arrival was treated as such a threat. It meant another slice of power gone. Still, much to Loki's relief, Danawi stepped in and stopped the argument. Strange how he could hold so many bickering children quiet with one wave of his hand.
However, the rapt attention he got then was nothing compared to what Danawi achieved from them all next, with his foreign tongue rolling off words that were, quite frankly, like ice picks driving through Loki's eardrums. The trees around them all caught fire and died, surrounding them in a frightful blaze, but Loki scarcely noticed, so intent was he upon the words that Danawi spoke.
When it was done, Loki removed his hands from his ears, though he had no recollection of putting them there, and looked at the hooded figure. He didn't feel any different, but then, perhaps Danawi had to instruct them first. Right now, however, he was more interested in the battle plan. That's what he had come for, after all. Despite his interest though, his face and mind remained unreadable and expressionless as ever, even when he finally spoke again.
"My Lord," he said, his voice as soft and courteous as ever. "May I ask to be in the team responsible for securing the path to the headmistress at the school? I would consider it an honor, and my talents may prove more useful in the field than here. If you wish I could speak with the Forest Clan, ask them to be your bodyguards here in the forest. What better protection could you wish for than the mistress of the forest herself?"
