Mikayla stalked out to the quidditch grounds, sneaking a look about to make sure no one was looking. In her hand she held a broomstick, one she bought from Diagon Alley not long before. It had been expensive, the very best she could buy, and it was supposed to be quicker than light. Mika would be the judge of that. She snuck another look around, leaning the Firebolt against her as she tied her hair up into a tight bun. Her blue eyes blazed with light as she mounted the broomstick and launched herself into the air.
Panic zinged through Mika's body and mind, making her shake atop her broom as she held on for her life. Air rushed around her, stealing the breath from her lungs and making her squint to see where she was going. The broomstick suddenly twirled, leaving her upside down for a few moments and Mika blanched, nearly loosing her resolve to learn how to fly. She wanted so badly to one day play quidditch, and she needed to perfect flying before that. Learn to crawl before you can learn to walk, Granpa Georgey used to say. Then again, he also used to say that lycans were never meant to fly. Best not to consider that so far above the ground. Mika stopped, right side up, 300 feet above the ground, her black long sleeve shirt and black pants the only things keeping her warm. She looked down at the ground and let out a whoop, hearing it echo through the arena. She imagined being in the game, smelling the crowd even from this distance.
Smell! Mikayla realized it was so cold and so high up that her sense of smell was off. She could barely cant the scent of grass beneath her, smelling only clean air. If that was off...then. Mika realized she couldn't hear the animals below her, as her whoop of joy had only been distant in her ears even so close as the noise was to her, surrounding her strong body in the air. As she listened more closely however, a soft, long sound brushed by her, then away, then back, then away again. Mika reached out her hand, patient, knowing that sound, and smiled when many small feet pressed against her palm. She looked at the beautiful pink butterfly, admiring it, then dropped her hand, watching it fly away. "Now I can fly too," Mika whispered, although she knew it wasn't quite true, knew her control was not nearly as good as those on the team. One last wistful sigh, and Mikayla plummented towards the ground, stopping two feet above and slowly lowering to her feet. She would train hard until maybe one day they'd let her play.

((urgh...no reply...I guess I'll double post...but then someone'd better reply! *looks menacing*))
Mikayla grinned from her position on the ground. This was so much easier than people made it out to be. She hummed quietly to herself, sitting down, still half on her broom, to look at the forest. The trees were dark, looming ominously over spring-green grass. An occasional bird let a soft melody move through the air slowly, sluggishly, barely reaching the ears of unwary creatures away from the forest, but the sound, once it caught attention, was enough to lure one into that dark forest and into possibly trouble.
Mika squinted her bright blue eyes at the trees, wondering if something was watching her at that very moment. It was a frightening thought and a shudder made its way through her body, starting at her shoulders and threading its way down. Her grin was gone, her pleasure vanished. Yes she was dangerous, but was it possible that maybe the grounds were more dangerous than she was? A noise behind her startled the lycan, and she jumped, the broom flying up with her hanging on by a leg. Mikayla screamed, the sound piercing the night, and closed her eyes, flailing her hands frantically towards the wooden grips as the broomstick threw her up high into the air. She wasn't sure how many-too many-stories passed by before the broom whipped her off and she fell rapidly to the approaching ground. She landed on her side and heard a sickening 'CRUNCH' as a bone snapped. "Ahhh..." Mika barely whispered, body curling to cradle the broken arm.

Tori had been in her bed not feeling the best. It twas a long day of nothingness. Breakfast, napping and dinner. But naps alwasy took off time from her regular sleep so she sat on her bed waiting for nothing to happen. As it had happened half the day. Then all of a sudden a piercing scream driffted threw her windows.
Tori didn't know who it was but she got up anyway. The scream came from some where around the quiddich pitch. Tori picked up her comet two-sixty and hopped off the biggest window she sould find. The Gryfinndore Tower had been one of the highest places. And she was terribly afraid of heights. But Tori sped threw the air.
"Don't look down." Tori repeated to herself even if she was looking right at the ground.
There was one figure in the distance. On the quidditch pitch there was a girl. One girl who didn't look so good. Tori flew to the ground and looked back. Had she flown that far and high? But that wasn't the question the question was if the girl was o.k. Tori ran to Mikayla and bent down. She knew something was wrong.
"What happened?" was all she could utter.

Mikayla gasped, trying hard to breath without causing the pain that was just now reaching her brain to flare. Her arm looked bad, even through the small attention she gave it while trying to coddle it. She looked up to see the broomstick floating down and new that the fall would have been fatal to any human. Pondering this further, Mika barely heard a girl approach to ask her what had happened. A funny question as Mikayla herself didn't quite know, but at least the girl hadn't asked if she was alright.
"I heard a noise, jumped and my broomstick took off under me," Mika began, then quickly struggled past her adrenaline high, thinking of what would appropriately keep her secret safe. "It got up about ten feet before I fell off, then just kept going." Mika sat up, wincing at the jolt of pain that followed. "I think I just sprained my arm is all. Shouldn't take more than a week to heal." She shook her head, golden locks whipping around. Looking up at the girl, giving her more attention than the seductive birds song still whispering in her ears, Mikayla smiled as best she could, hoping she wasn't just baring her teeth. "I'm Mikayla Siarra," she introduced herself.

Tori uttered a slight laugh as Makayla introduced herself. "Tori," she said.
She looked at the ground and then put her hands in her pockets and felt for her wand. Tori pulled it out and quickly thought of the spell a teacher put on her at her school in Germany. "Nummanth." Tori hoped she had said it right. If she did then Mikayla's arm was full of nummness. Tori didn't want to touch Mikayla's arm, so all she asked was, "Is your arm numm? And if it is can you stand up?" Tori knew that a sprained an arm wouldn't stop her from standing up. But Tori remember when she fractured her wrist in in three places. The pain had been unbearable, preventing her from moving.

"Pleasure to meet you, Tori," Mikayla stated, polite til the end. Her fire blue gaze looked sharply at the girl who was pulling out her wand. "I don't think that's such a-" Mikayla's quiet voice was cut off by the girl's spell and a tingling feeling tickling its way through her arm. The pain was gone, leaving behind only that odd tickling sensation.
"Thank you," Mikayla said, knowing that her lycan blood would make it wear off faster than normal, yet savoring it for the time. "It is quite numb, and I believe I can stand." She stood easily, muscles moving as if nothing had happened. She smiled then, a true smile at the girl who had no doubt come because of her insane yelling. "I'm a slytherin," Mika said, walking the pick up her broomstick with her good hand, then walking back to the girl. "And I don't think I'm going to be riding this thing for a while."

Tori smiled back as Miakayla stood up.. "Gryfinndore." She said. "I think you should get to the hospital wing. It'll wear off in a little while." Tori looked at Mikayla, waiting for a reply. Tori felt nervous because the pain could come cack in a short while. At any tinme the pain could come back. "We should hurry. But only if you want to go." Tori waited for her reply again.
ooc- what a terrible post.

Mikayla's eyes flashed, an expression come and gone in a second. "I don't think its bad enough to go to the hospital wing with," she murmured, knowing the rush was to get her somewhere with healers before the spell wore off. Didn't matter anyways...it wasn't like the pain wasn't already stinging her arm, just beneath the feeling of numbness. "I'm not sure they can assist me," Mika explained, flashing one of her brilliant smiles and hoping it would get her out of a hospital trip. Only the Headmistress knew what the young lycan was, save for the occasional vampire or lycan she passed in the hall, and Mika wanted to keep it that way.
"How bout we go to the...uhhh..." Mikayla had no idea what to say, not knowing where they could go. The lake would be peaceful, but once the pain returned it would be just short of crippling for at least half an hour. They could go to the Great Hall, but shock nausea was beginning to worm its way into Mika's stomache. She didn't want to return to the dorms for fear of being questioned...Maybe, if she just went to the Hospital Wing to ask for a brace, it wouldn't be so bad.
Resigned, Mika sighed, and smiled weakly at Tori. "Lets go to the Hospital Wing...but only to get an arm brace and be magicked with pain killers." The pain was already back in full force, buckling her legs with the effort not to pay attention to it.
((yeah...I've been having issues with my posts lately...Its like I can't...explain things properly. Blegh))

Tori looked at Mikayla knowing the pain would come back in few moments if it hadn't already happened. Tori realized that Maika was trying to talk out of going to the Hospital Wing. But then she finally said she would go. But only for a brace and pain killers. Is she hiding something? Tori thought. It's not my buisness. Just to make sure's oaky is. "Okay let's go. " she finally said. "We should go before anything else happens." All of a sudden an owl hooted. It made Tori jump up but she quickly recovered from the sudden scare. "What do you think you saw that made you jump?"

Mikayla heard the owl and turned to see it take flight in the distance. The girl was agreeing, rambling on about going before anything happened. Mika almost snorted. If the girl was so worried about things not happening, she shouldn't have gone to MH in the first place. She probably had a good reason though, so Mika began the painful journey back to school, half-dragging her broomstick along the ground.
"Someone was watching me," Mikayla responded, knowing it to be a fact even if she had neither scented nor heard anything. They must have known what she was, approaching in the way they did, upwind and without making so much as a noise. Either that, or whatever-whoever-had been watching her was a natural predator. Not something wonderful to have around a big group of humans, to say the least.
Soon they were upon the great doors, Mikayla having walked in silence and thought, and she turned, smiling at the girl. "I'm sorry, I'm being so wretchedly quiet. Truly, it is just because I have something big on my mind and it wont go away. I don't mean to be rude." She opened the door, listening to it creek as she heaved with her entire shoulder, ignoring any pain in her opposite arm. "Ah, shoot, I don't know where the Hospital Wing is. Can you guide me?"
