(ooc) Alright, to let me make the point that these aren't real trials. You'll all be able to participate in the game. That being said however, the way in which you perform now will dictate what position you are allocated, so please try your best.
(bic)
"Would all Gryffindors wishing to participate in the trials please line up with your broomstick in center stadium!" bellowed the all-too-familiar voice of Laura Black, the infamous Quidditch captain of the lions.
"I will require all those that wish to be a part of the team to announce their position of preference, and perform a basic flying routine that they have prepared. This must of course, reflect their predilection, must show skill, focus, and the ability to perform in front of a large crowd." She gestured to the watching Gryffindors, their faces turned to her, bright eyes fixed upon her.
"Will the first candidate please step into the circle," she finished, gesturing to the ring in the middle of the pitch.
"Begin!"
(ooc) Crap roleplaying, but have a cry! I'm doing homework! Anyway...who ever wants a position, have a go! I'd like to be able to judge your skill. Try to make it as interesting and creative as possible.

Athena took a deep breath and step forward and said, clearly in a loud clear tone, "Chaser." Athena mounted her broom and pushed off the ground lightly until she was even with the Poles. She had been holding onto a quaffle and once she was leveled she began to do a series of manuevers around imaginary opponents including one of her favorite moves, a twistie spin around and a toss of the quaffle through the middle hoop."
ooc:I hope that this is alright. I've never rped a quidditch routine by myself.

Skarlet was second in line. After seeing Athena, she gulped. She stepped up, "Chaser" she said with confidence. She mounted her broom, and quickly flew into the middle of the feild. With her wand she bewitched a bludger to attack her. From their on she dodge the bludger with a couple fancy moves, finally throwing the quaffle into the air , swinging around and sending the quaffle through the middle hoop. She floated down, and mumbled a couple words, and the bludger fell to the ground.
ooc: neither have i, so you and i, athena are in the same boat lol

third was Morgan. She stepped up with a big smile on her face and said loud and clear "Beater." she mounted her broom and bewitched a bludger to follow her. She hit it with the bat and flyed around waiting. Not long after it zoomed towards the back of her head. She swung around and hit it into the ground. She muttered the counter for the charm and the bludger stopped moving. She dived to the ground. She pulled up an inch to the ground and stepped off.
ooc: Me either.

Mary stepped forward forth, she smiled to the captain and said loudly "Chaser" she mounted her broom and took off the ground.
Mary bewitched a bludger to attack her, she got away from it with a deep dive, the bludger went after her but Mary was to fast for it. She raised up just a few Metter of the ground while the bludger crushed into it. She flew up and threw the Quaffle up, with a fancy rotation she hit the ball and scored into the middle hoop.
With a big grin spreading on her face Mary landed on the ground' she quickly muttered the counter charm and the bludger stopped moving.
ooc: I'm really new here so I'm still trying to get the point of role playing…<br>

Genevieve hasitated and slowly stumbled forward, trying not to trip on her robes. "Seeker?" she said meekly. Then climbed on her broom and zoomed off with grace unlike her normal clumsy nature. Once she had the whole field in view of her brownish-black eyes, she waited for instructions.
OOC: new here too... working on the rping

ooc: oh I see... show what you can do...hehe... duh
IC: Genevieve bewitched the snitch to zoom around the pitch diving, twisting, and teasing her to catch it. she let it play for awhile loving to watch it. She reached out for it and it zoomed off... she speed along behind it then followed it into a dive... catching it eight feet from the ground then pulling out the dive with grace and style... then she landed on the ground and stepped off her broom slowly hoping not to trip after such a graceful flight.

Laura waved for a pause in the trials, stepping forward once more.
"Alright people, that was good, but I didn't see anything brilliant. I'd like you all to have another go if that's alright with you, and try making your routines a little longer, alright?"
(ooc) In all counts, it was quite short. I'm not asking you to write a novel, just more than one paragraph?

Skarlet decide that this time she wouldn’t bewitch anything. She once again swung her foot over her broom and kicked off the ground. Her Firebolt took her 40 feet in the air in seconds. Skarlet was the very antithesis of an ambivalence person. She would act as if other team members were there. Skarlet flew around the pitch a few times creating the Woollongong Shimmy or in other words, she would act as if she was dodging a few opponents, zigzagging through them. She then threw in a Porskoff Ploy. To finish it all of, she flew up high and took out her wand. “Accio Quaffle” she quickly stuck her wand in her robe again and caught the flying Quaffle. She threw it into the air and after 5 to 10 seconds of letting it fall, she went after it, Wronski Feint style. She caught it in perfect time before it hit the ground; zoomed up, and then went up and down, zigzagging motion for imaginary challengers, and hit the Quaffle into the ring with her broom tail. She glided to the ground and got in the back of the line.

"Now, that was some flying, ladies and gents," called Laura from where she was now sitting at the edge of the pitch, giving a short round of applauds. "Very nice work, Skarlet."

Mary kicked off the ground after her, she took off and flew around the pitch...the Quafell was under her arm, she threw it up and caught it again as if someone passed to her. She flew around the pitch once just to gain speed. Mary tried to imagine the bludger was after her, she dived, another flight around the pitch...she turned suddenly and flew to the opposite way as if someone was casing her. She threw the Quafell forwards and flew to catch, it started falling down but Mary caught it again and headed to the hoops. She flew around them, like she was trying to confuse the invisible keeper. With a rotation she threw the quafell up and hit it with her arm, the quafell flew to the hoops and passed threw the middle one. Mary got to the ground and stood behind Skarlet in the line.

Genevieve smiled and jumped on her broom again. Tossed the snitch in the air giving it a head start. Then she flew into action. Noting that the snitch was no where to be found on the pitch she decided to do a fake dive for the snitch( in a game that would help distract the other seeker she thought to herself then she reminded herself to concentrate) She pulled out of the dive just in time to see the snitch flying around the poles on the far side of the pitch. She speed after it following it as it twisted and turned in and out of the pitch the final it began to dive. She followed it down and reached for it ( just a little further she thought). As soon as Ginny had thought that she felt the snitch fighting in her hand... she pulled out of the dive and flew down to the ground still holding the snitch she hopped off her broom and smiled.

"Good, Mary...but I think your first display was a little better to be blunt," Laura informed the younger girl, nodding to her before turning to Ginny.
"That was better than your previous Ginny, but as we already have a seeker, would you consider the part of perhaps a keeper? I see your ball handling skills are up to scratch, what do you think?"

OOC: Sorry for the slight god-RPing, and really, I'll be a Gryffindor when WR changes my status.
BIC: "Sorry I'm late," came a voice from the pitch. The boy who walked onto the grass stood at six feet, with broad shoulders and the willowy torso that were the trademarks of the strength and grace required to be a Chaser.
"I just arrived and was told to come here for tryouts. I hope you don't mind." He flashed a grin at Laura. "I'm Garrett Grey. I'd like to be a Chaser." When he received a nod from the Captain, Garrett mounted his Firebolt, picked up a Quaffle from the ground, and was off in a blur to the sky.
He hadn't prepared a routine, but he figured he could just wing it. It had been only a few weeks into his seventh year at his other school when he had been kicked out, and he sure wasn't going to give up his chances at playing pro Quidditch. It was imperative that Garrett make the team here at his new school.
His style was flashy, but the flashiness came from his solid grasp of the techniques, from his natural speed, and from his concentration. Unlike his behavior on the ground, there were no affected airs when he was flying. He was simply part of the team, part of his broom, part of the Quaffle.
He warmed up a bit by leaning forward and accelerating quickly from one end to the other of the pitch. Then, at the end, he executed a risky hairpin turn-around and sped back to the other end. On his way over, he performed a few barrel rolls in both directions, holding the Quaffle under his right arm the whole way. When he got to the goal posts this time, he performed an incredibly fast turn-around that he and his teammates at his old school had perfected, one that he knew would impress - he leaned forward, pushed down on the front of his broom, and in an instant flipped forward and executed a half barrel roll so that he was facing the opposite direction in mere moments and hadn't lost any speed.
Grinning, Garrett pulled back in the middle of the pitch, stopping sharply. He was beginning to feel the rush of adrenaline, the exhilaration that came from doing well on the Quidditch pitch. Now it was time to really show off. He started towards one end, performing tight banked zig-zags as he went, holding and guarding the Quaffle the entire time. As he banked into his turns, he switched the Quaffle from one arm to the other so that it would be shielded from above by his body. By putting the Quaffle on the lower side of the banked turn, Garrett knew that no other Chaser would be likely to reach in and steal it.
After another turn, he performed several dives, exhibiting his abilities to change direction quickly, which was helpful in dodging Bludgers. Once in a while he threw in another barrel roll. Another dodge that he performed was the backwards dodge, where in the middle of a sprint he pulled upwards on his broom into a backflip, then came smoothly out of the backflip flying in the same direction at nearly the same speed. This was always helpful when a Bludger or another Chaser was coming at him quickly - his sudden stop would cause the Bludger or Chaser to zoom past him and then lose speed turning back around.
He had been flying for a few minutes, and he decided that it was about time to stop. He didn't want the Captain to think that he was a show-off. So he clinched it by exhibiting his near-perfect aim - in the middle of the pitch, he suddenly extended his arm while executing a hairpin turn-around and threw the Quaffle with all his might so that his follow-through coincided with the moment when his broom pointed at the hoops on the other end. It was a blind shot, and yet it flew with great force directly through the middle hoop.
Garrett grinned, elated, and descended back to the ground, awaiting Laura's comments.
