Hikalyn strode out onto the pitch with her Firebolt slung across her shoulders. She wanted to get some practice in before the game tomorrow, obviously, but more than that she needed to burn off some pent-up energy. The pitch was still empty of any other Slytherins, but they'd trickle in. They all wanted to win just as badly as she did.
Hikalyn removed her broom from her shoulders and swung one leg over it. Her leg muscles tensed, and she pushed lightly against the ground, which was springy from a recent shower, and she was off.
She rose easily into the air, flying at a leisurely pace at first. She was about as weightless as a feather here, and as the wind whipped her face, stinging her eyes and making them water, she felt that weight being lifted from her mind as well. All the stresses of the last little while had vanished, and there was nothing between her and the rich sapphire sky.
She leaned forward on the Firebolt, tucking her limbs in close and leaning forward, giving her an almost streamlined appearance. Her robes flapped uncontrollably in the wind, almost comically. But she had accelerated, and it wouldn't be visible to anyone watching except for a dark smudge against the sky. She willed her broom to go faster, faster, as she flew a lap around the pitch, making turns so sharp at the corners that if she had been on any broom other than the magnificent Firebolt, or if her flying skills had been any less, she would have fallen some fifty feet to the spongy ground.
Finally completing her circle, the Slytherin Prefect and Seeker paused, hovering far above the ground, wiping the water that the stinging wind had created from her eyes.

ooc; dunno if the time's [whether, right now, we are playing in day or night] been decided yet, but it is sunset. also, is my avatar a white haired girl?
Sharade looked out to the Quidditch Pitch to see a lone figure there. Hikalyn, she thought.
[glow=green,2,300]"Accio broom."[/glow]
She grabbed it as it flew to her hands, and stepped off the window ledge where she had previously been sitting. Heavy lidded eyes scanned the ground, waiting until the right moment. She guided the broom under her, her entire body straddling it. The dewy grass twinkled as she came down to it. She lifted her broom, and changed positions until she was standing on her vertical broom, where the twigs started. She floated on, rising higher, so that when she had reached the Quidditch Pitch she was about as tall as the second highest hoop.
She alighted so that she was standing on the hoop. Poised, she jumped, somersaulted and landed on her broom. She waved to Hikalyn, and looked for the Quaffle. Some one had obviously forgotten to put it back in, because it was lying on the grass.
Sharade threw up her head cockily and smirked. Standing, she turned the broom, the bright purples and reds from the setting sun racing down her broom. Her eyes widened; there was the boy who had insulted her after she had left. Amends must be made, I suppose, she said to herself. She made a few more moves on her broom, and jumped off it. Her robes flying around her, she rushed parallel to the ground. Grabbing her cloak, Sharade held it in her hands, transforming the downwards fall into a glide. Heading to where the Quaffle was, she twisted her arms to avoid the posts.
[glow=green,2,300]"Baniscia broom,"[/glow] she mumurmed, sending her broom next the Quaffle using her eyes. Quirking an eyebrow, Sharade angled her arms up, now in a vampire like position, and fell once again, this time standing. Raising her arms, she flipped herself, rushing down to the ground.
3...
She looked for her broom: it was hovering next to the Quaffle.
2...
1...
She extended her arms, grabbed the Quaffle, all the while arching her back so that her feet would land on the front of the broom. Her feet pushed against the broom, going away from her hands holding the Quaffle. Her broom veered in the requested direction. Sharade twisted her body, so that now one hand held on to the back of the broom, the other holding the Quaffle. Her hand holding the broom was somewhere between halfway up the broom.
Her eyes heavy lidded, she lifted her feet, lower body and waist over her hand holding on. The broom was still moving, but straight, and parallel to the ground. Flipping herself up, she extended her back to avoid the after shock. She was, yet again, standing on her feet, for the second time. Sharade sat back down on the broom, and put the Quaffle in both her hands, urging the broom upwards with her thighs. She flew higher than the higghest player, and heaved the ball into the air.
ooc: Right, I loved this post so much that I copied it. Hehe... and changed it, don't worry.

Pippin walked onto the pitch looking to sharpen his flying abilities. He was a bit rusty from not flying in months. He had a hard time just trying to find his real broom from fakes in his house.
It was a custom-made broom made by Agiel Firefox. It was very very fast but didnt had much manueverablilty. He liked the broom and it was the only thing he had left from his friend.
He hopped on and started to rise. He shook a bit and regained his composure, but fell off on his shoulder. "Ouch, that hurt. WHY?" Pippin shouted to no one. He really had to improve fast if he wanted to tryout.
He hopped on his broom again ready to brace himself but kept his balance. He rose higher and higher and started to fly around. It felt great just to fly around being carefree and just plain having fun. Pippin started to fly laps around the pitch. In and out of the rings swerving through the stands. It was awesome. The he made a mistake, he flew too fast and rammed into the ravenclaw stands. He was jolted off his broom and hit the wood and concrete. He fell back and grabbed his back of his broom. He stood there hanging for a while. Then stared to get tired. "Aw, this is embarassing" Pippin said wavering in the air.

A small echo of laughter came from behind Pippin as a white haird girl watched from a distance, perched precariously on her Nova. A few strands of hair fell in front of her face as her smile widened, her black eyes fixed on the boy.
"It happens to the best of us, I'm sure."
Gripping her broom handle tightly, Amiri flew across the Quittich pitch, nodding to Kalyn, and stopping right beside Pippin. Her broom hovered in place effortlessly as she sat up straight, keeping her balance.
Amiri tossed a long lock of satin white hair from her face, lacing her fingers through it in a quick motion as she observed the horrid predicament Pippin was in. It probably hurt a great deal, but she could help but smile. He hadn't changed since she last saw him.
"Need a hand, by any chance?"

ooc: bit late, heh. Sorry. Well, this was started before the game, so I guess we'll just...pretend...?
bic:
Hikalyn had been so busy watching Sharade's stunt, half convinced that the Chaser was either insane or suicidal, that she hardly even noticed the red blur that Sharade had lobbed into the air until it was almost on top of her. She reached up over her head to catch it at the last minute--it was either that or get hit in the head--and returned her gaze to Sharade.
Hikalyn raised her eyebrows at the other girl, impressed despite herself. "Impressive," she commented with a grin that turned a touch wry, a touch teasing as she countinued. "But I think that, on the whole, it's more helpful to stay on your broom."
That was when she saw a boy that she wasn't familiar with walk onto the pitch. She watched him mount his broom and launch into the air, was about to call out to him when she saw him slam into the stands. With a sympathetic wince, she jetted over to him. "Are you alright?" she asked, concern and amusement battling in her tone. "Hiya, 'Miri," she added, noticing her fellow Prefect.

Amiri closed her eyes and held out one hand towards Pippin. Slowly, Pippin was lifted a few inches higher, then slowly descended to the spongy grass. He landed softly on his feet, his robes un ruffled, and his broom right beside him. She opened her eyes once again and smiled, then landing on the ground.
Out of habit, Amiri dusted her robe off with a flick of her left hand and held her broomstick in the other. "That's correct. Nice to see you as well, Pippin." She made her broom hover a few inches off the ground and gingerly sat down, twirrling a few strands of hair between her fingers.
"How have you been?" Amiri asked politely, crossing her legs. She looked at Hikalyn and waved, then turned her attention back to Pippin.
OOC: Yes, pretending is good. ^^

"Likewise," Hikalyn agreed with a smile, seated comfortably on her own broom, which was still hovering a few feet above the ground. She slid off it, landing easily on her feet and grasping the smooth wooden handle of the Firebolt. "I'm Hikalyn, by the way," she added. She glanced up again, squinting into the red-gold light of the setting sun, and spotted Sharade, still airborne, silhouetted against the fading light.

ooc: LOL, am I the Quidditch team? Oh, and Sharade, I can't see your av, sorry. bic: Hikalyn nodded. "Yeah, I'm the Seeker. I've played both Chaser and Keeper before, as well," she added. She swiped at a lock of black hair which had come to dangle irritatingly in front of her eyes, and shifted her weight on the damp ground so that she was standing more comfortably. "So do you play at all?" she asked, her face cracking into a smile again as she watched the boy rub at his injured shoulder. If he flew like that all the time, probably not. Maybe he was just one of those accident-prone people that mishaps seemed to follow whereever they went.

"I used to play, I would probaly be a beater. I wouldnt need a bat, I'd just use myself." Pippin said sarcasticaly. "I'm not that good now, am I?"

OOC: lol. I can't see your av either, Sharade.
IC: Amiri watched contently, taking interest in Kalyn's and Pippin's conversation. "Using yourself as the bat? That'd hurt a lot." She chuckled at Pippin's statement. "I play a Beater and a Chaser really well. I usually don't use a bat though," A rock levitated into her hand, making her smile as she tossed it in the air and caught it repeatedly. "I make a better Chaser, though."

Pippin watched Amiri toss the rock up and catch it. "I could probaly be a fairly good chaser if I could remember how to fly. Might take a while though. But its no problem. I could learn again pretty quick. Just have to practice hard. I always wanted to be a chaser. And I think I was one too. But I cant remember." Pippin said scatching his head trying to remember."I think that hit did a lot more than hurt my shoulder. I will remember. Also, I'm gonna' join the quiditch team and bring the cup to Slytherin next season. I have a lot of time to start havent I?"
Pippin started to sit on the grass and pluck the worn out grass with his hands. He pulled out a rather long one and started to blow The Tempest .
