Well, after doing some thinking, I figure out something. People, on this site, only really have on way of advertising on this site, which is through PMs. Some already showed how much they despise that, most recipients.
So, why not give them a choice to look at it or not, I am not talking about a Spam blocker, but a separate Sub-board. I know I probably have bothered people with my past PMs, but I don't mean to. People have multiple accounts, and I don't know who is who.
Why agree? Well if you own a site, it will be easier for you to post it and get it around. If you are looking for a site, you can just go to the sub-board and read the down the list, until you find one that catches you eyed, and looked at the details that the owner posted inside. Also, you can view the person's name, and notice it is one of your friends site, and that you want to check it out. But if you are a person who hates advertisements, that is great for you. You now have the option to view a site advertisement. If you don't want to, just don't enter on the sub-board.
So, with all that said, should it be passed? Yay, or nay?

I think that does sound like a good idea... some way of listing all the sites. I hate getting PMs for sites... so perhaps this will be better.

You're quite welcome. I think a nice addition to this would be if Claire were to be the only one allowed to post on this board, to prevent flooding and annoying people. Your ad could be approved by her, and then posted on the board.

Well, thing is, if you want to put it in a sub board, we (Magic Horizons) Will be liable for punishment. When you click I agree on the registration page, you agree not to advertise other sites in boards.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I'm all for it, it's just if the Proboards people found out we'd be in trouble. Or something.

Actully that is a good idea and trust me lots of sites are going to be doing that now...Trust me there are 3 that have a advertising sub-board.

Actually, I'm don't think proboards would have a problem with people advertising their own sites. I'm thinking that thing about advertisement is more of a larger scale. After all, *points to near the top of the board*, my guess is that proboards functions on money they get from large corporations that pay them to have those advertisements at the top. Either that, or the user is paying proboards not to have them up at the top XD. Something as minor as one user advertising their site to another would more likely than not be completely passed over, also considering that most sites they advertise are also proboards sites.

I think when they said no advertising, they mean like companies advertising their stuff. I don't think they mind it when people advertise non profit sites, that they made for fun, mostly when most of the sites advertised is another proboard site.
Thank you Carmen, and eh Zeion.

Nah, I doubt we'd get in trouble over it. As Zeion said, a ton of sites have 'em. Plus, how many sites are hosted by Proboards? Thousands upon thousands. I doubt they have the time to check that every single board follows every single rule. ^_^

No, as Az said, it's mostly pyramid schemes and such that they're discouraging from advertisement. They don't care about the non-profit sites.

That is true Carmen, but what is the difference about advertising on a board made for advertising, that is if Claire agrees with it, or advertising through PMs.
I will tell you. Advertising through PMs causes problems, it makes people mad. Thats a negative, but the sub-board probably won't make people mad. What I think about what she said, was that don't advertise on the boards that don't have anything to do with it. Like the Forbidden Forest, or any where else for that matter. But if they were to make a board for the purpose of advertising it would be different.
So you have PMs, which makes some people mad.
Or you could have a sub-board, that I think everyone could agree with.

Eh, enterpret how you will. It's just best to bring it to the attention of Claire, your idea, that is. See what she says.
