I saw this on another site. On some boards, you can write post, but it won't be counted in the number of posts you have submitted. I think we should make it so that your only posts that are counted are from role playing, or one of the main role playing boards.
There are some boards that carry little or no role playing at all. Many people go to these boards, and have their total number of posts added onto for no reason. I believe a person's post total is something that should be respected, and shows how often they role play.
Posting OOC (out of character) so often causes some people to be thought to be more active people than others just because the other people only role play or role play most of the time. Usually, the other role players are actually the more active ones, and I think they should be more respected with a fairer amount of posts that are counted.
I know quality isn't quality, but, if you don't write IC (in character), no quality is known. Hopefully, this may also convince more people to role play rather than chat all of the time.
These are the boards that I think should be affected by this: The Student Council The Muggle World (It's mostly used for OOC) Fanfiction and Fanart Obsessives Anonymous Links and Advertising

I agree. ^_^ I mean... I don't post OOC that much, but I'd like for my IC posts to count. It shows how truely active a person is.

Same here. I think that if you're rp posts could count becuase we all look at the post count and see how many that person has. I personally think that the people with a lot of posts are better rpers and have spent more time on the site. So I'm whole-heartdly with you guys on this one.

Nice idea. I agree. We want to motivate the new RPers to start RPing IC more and that maybe a way to do so.

I think I've got a fairly high IC post count.... I know I don't post IC as much anymore, but I was absolutely insane over the summer. ^_^
Anyway, excellent idea.

Sounds good to me, it would put some people in their place as it were. OOC is good for finding out a spot of information, but an RP board should have a slightly larger focus on the actual RPing... Sadly yet comically enough I'm the one who gave birth to the largest (most pages) thread. A bit ironic I'd say.

I completely agree. When Magic Horizons goes down for maintenance tomorrow, I will set that in action also. Thankyou very much for raising such a wonderful point.
