Oh hey! I remember you as September! We never roleplayed together unfortunately Heheheh, I know, time really does fly. I remember when I first found out about this site, or rather the one before, the one before the original. I wanna say that this is my.... 4th year...? Maybe? I'm horrible with time -_-'

hmmmm
good tips on role-playing.
-reads remarks about resurrecting dead characters-
-feels guilty-
sorry to have peeved people off! Its just I made Amelia to escape the real world for reasons I would not like to discuss, then after a year I thought I didn't need her anymore so let her die. But then a month or so after I realized that I did still need her...and no before anyone thinks "well make another character"....I needed Amelia she is me...so sorry...but that is my excuse.
EDIT: -corrects speeling (SP!!!) mistakes-

Amy - you've been here as long as meeee! I vaguely remember September, I think o.o Angelique - He's right, we like people who ask questions -nods- Aylen - Very well done ;D wow... alphabetical ordered names, too ;D D'you think it'd be useful to put a thread somewhere with like... references for all these threads? Like a 'further reading' thing in the back of a book? Then if people wanted to look, they could? -scoots-

That's a good idea, but finding threads like that would be hard...and Aylen is lazy. XD

Well, Hawkins, unlazyfying yourself would be good practise ^_~ Laura doesn't allow lazyness on her Quidditch team

Just give her something else to think of instead. Something along the lines of... -thinks- ... Pygmypuffs being enchanted to float around the pitch... or... ooh how about putting a water gun on the end of your broom that squirts anyone who comes within 10 feet of you ;D Never got the chance to try that one out... or... or just generally mess around ;D trust me, it's worth it

yes... yes they do. So therefore the walls can go tell people to come here and ask any questions on RPing hints and tips, right?

Oh well. My tips:
- Always make your posts a minimum of 4 paragraphs long, with 5-7 lines in each. People say 'quality over quantity,' but RP is all about practicing, and the more writing you do the better you'll get.
- Never start each paragraph with the same thing. ie. Chailyn said/looked around... Or: She ... etc. Try and vary it. Use the passive voice. It's not that hard, and makes for a much more elegant read!
- Along with everything said, make an active effort to give your fellow players something to "work off." For example, what can they do if you spend the first four out of five paragraphs entirely based on internal thought. Inner emotion is only one half of the grande picture, interaction is just as vital!
Just my two cents.

Chailyn, your 'minimum' is way too high. I am far in the idea of 'quality over quantity'. If a person has the ability to write his entire, heart-wrenching post in one sentence, then good on them. But four paragrapsh long and five to seven sentences in each?
You're bonkers. My minimum when I was Talon (not Trajan, for his posts can go from one paragraph with five sentences in it to Talon's minimum) was about three paragraphs with five-seven sentences in it.
Four paragraphs...my goodness.
But I agree with the idea of the 'no bringing back characters'. Now I admit, I do that alot, and I guess I agree, but there is one thing that I really, really hate.
When a person commits suicide and then comes back.
It's just...my God. If it was murder, I'd understand, but if you purposely KILLED your character, why in God's name would you bring them back? I must admit, if Kaiser ever killed himself, he'd stay dead. Why? Because, well, only a Valkerie can kill a Valkerie, and Kaiser is a Valkerie. So therefore if he killed himself, the 'coming back all the time' rule would be registered invalid.
I'll be back later for more. *runs off at bell*
