I have seen other, elitist roleplaying sites, full of over-inflated egos and ten-foot long posts, and I don't ever want this site to become like that. That is exactly how that other site became. It's not any fun any more, even to the good RPers. It's just one big competition. Sites like that just become popularity contests, which is never fun. Everyone should have a level ground to start from at this site, and provided that we take some efforts into helping out these new RPers. My own personal style is lengthier posts, for the most part. I enjoy writing details, because I'd hope that my posts draw pictures, like the books of my favorite authors. I've closed my eyes before and pictured what's going on in a thread. If you can't do that to some extent, then there's a problem.

I completely understand, and I guess I do agree, in a way. The apps seem to mostly be a way to get rid of the "I'm the daughter of voldemort..." etc charas, that are weird and unrealistic...
oh well. -shrug- it was just a suggestion - I kinda knew that it would get shot down, but I figured that it wouldn't hurt to say it.

'The Valkerie Family'!? THE VALKERIE FAMILY!? I believe that Kaiser is a member of the Valkerie family, and I DO believe I have long posts. ...sometimes I wonder if I'm disowned from the Valkerie family....
...am I disowned from the Valkerie Family?
Anyway, yes, I think I'm a bit late on this subject, but when I read Kelly's first post, I just said 'No', believe it or not. ...I like bad RP-ers, to a certain extent, as Jade said, they're sick entertainment.
I don't want to be a snob. But I AM a good RP-er. I do make long posts. I'm beautifully sexy. I have a trenchcoat. I like crumpets. Never tried Caviar. But I agree completely with Michaela about how they just RP with each other and feed off their own stupidity.
I don't want the newbies to go away completely. I just want the flow to be lessened in some way. After all, if the newbies go away, who will we laugh at and call stupid? Think about that.

I don't want to be a snob...I'm beautifully sexy. That just made me laugh when I saw that...sorry, that just seemed contradictory to me...-grin- But anyway, yeah, that's all it would do, just stem the flow a bit, or at least that's how I think it would be. as for being disowned, I dunno... and Jade, sure, why not? ^^

I really don't like the idea of applications, or getting rid of all bad RPers - if either or both of these were in effect I wouldn't be here talking about it right now! My philosophy (or one of them at least) is that, if a bad RPer screws up real badly when he or she starts off, if you react badly to it, they will change (if you look at my first posts you will see a big difference in the way I go about it now). I don't really like the idea of a completely set in stone character either. Because then my character would be boring as hell, and really bad - I'm still developing him. And I kinda like newbs anyway.
And what is a crumpet?

For one thing, as I said, it wouldn't get rid of all newbs, just some. And the character isn't set it stone, it just gives you an idea of who you are, so you don't make mistakes; like, one day you say they're from france, and the next you say they're from canada, or something. Just things like that - got it?
and:
crum·pet ( P ) Pronunciation Key (krmpt) n. A small flat round of bread, baked on a griddle and usually served toasted.

Hey, you know...I remember 'Whatever floats your chickens'. Rose M used to say it a lot at Fortressians. Plus I know Agiel on MSN, and he says it all the time. *shrugs*
*feels left out of the party for not being at HF*
