The rain was penetrating so deep into her clothes, she could feel every breath taking shiver her body would groan out, pushing it's way through her rain washed frame. Freezing, she took a step at a time trying to regain her composure as her legs were too icy to gain leverage.
It hadn't been long since she stepped onto the muddy earth off the satin like image of her carriage. In fact she had barely made it as far as a few feet before the downpour inhaled her body and what was left of her belongings. She hadn't brought much, as she never needed more then her books and her broom; if she was ever needing such a failure.
Lightning cracked above her head shattering the sky into a million shards of light and instantly gluing the remains together. Jumping out of shock Gwendolyn grabbed her clothes and gathered them closer around her body in whatever hopes to keep herself slightly warmer. With the clouds circling like large bundles of darkly washed cotton, the castle was barely but a dot in the distance. She managed to keep a straight face, as she sighed heavily and trudged through the muddy remains of what was once solid. Her toes were but single attachments to her body she was unaware of at the moment. She had thought of her broom, but was it worth getting caught up in torrents and being misdirected by wind, or getting shot off and being dimolished by whatever else could possibly destroy her body. Without a second thought, anything was better then the pinching cold. Reaching behind her, she unfastened the new savior and mounted it, making sure all of everything was still in tact. Kicking off the ground with whatever might she may have had she felt the wind blow through her hair, and pieces of tiny glass shred her eyes. Her face screwed up in unmistakable pain; she was going to have to ride without sight. She brought her arm up to her face and used her fore arm and wrist as main coverage.
A crack, and a shudder of noise and there was Gwendolyn, standing before the castle. Annoyed with the state of her being she didn't care who or what was standing behind the doors. Whipping them open, she found no one, and judging by the quiet and vacant space everyone had probably gone up to their common rooms by now. With her hands, she rung out her sopping hair and proceeded to walk to the grand staircase. If she was anything right now, she was exhausted.
