[glow=purple,2,300]At least not until the very dead end of your search and you find what you were looking for, but weren't... Dovie thought as she ambled her way up the circular stairwell and into the cool night air of the top of the astronomy tower. Her right hand covered her delicate mouth, and her eyes stared determinedly at the stone ground.
Broken Nose, Broken nose, Broken Nose, Broken Nose repeated itself over and over in her mind to the point where she couldn't think of anything else. She'd been Dreaming again that night, and the name had come to her in the dream, like a long-forgotten soul had reimmerged in her subconscious. She'd heard about him before, she knew it, she just knew it.. but where!?
Dovie huffed out a loud, dissatisfied growl and threw her right arm out into the air, completely displeased with the fact that she, for some reason, could not remember who Broken Nose was.
"Dammit!" she hissed into the glowing night. That stars shimmered above her and she finally realized she'd reached her destination. Her head snapped up to stare at the sky, as f the stars would reveal to her in an instant who, or what, she was supposed to be looking for. She watched as Big Bear and Little Bear clung to each other. "Must be tired.." she mumbled to herself. "After all, it's..what..? Four in the morning..?" Her right hand resumed its position at the tip of her chin as she ogled at the vastness of the sky.
"So bright out here... If only... Ugh, if only I could talk to Uncle! Then I'd know what's going on!" Dovie stamped her foot in slight disgust. How can I not know? What's wrong with me? I've gone soft...I haven't been paying attention! The tan-skinned, dark-haired girl beraded herself, her emerald eyes as glowing fire in the dark morning.
"I mean, I know who Roman Nose...was Cheyenne....." Dovie's eyes slowly moved over the stones on the ground as if she were starting to remember. "Chief Roman Nose, Cheyenne. Uncle, Cheynne.. So then...Uncle has to know... Then again, it could be Broken Nose for the NorthEast... But it shouldn't be..because it's got to be a human... And if that's the case..." Dovie's voice trailed off into nothingness, though her mind was moving a million miles per minute.
He's old, Sweety... That's an old name, a very old name... her mother's voice echoed in her mind.
"I know that..Otherwise, it wouldn't have been in the dream, and I wouldn't be looking into it so much...." Dovie spoke aloud as if to someone there, her right hand still hovering in front of her mouth.
"But who..." She almost hissed, "...and from where?" She blurted the last part in an almost normal speaking voice, as if the thought of finding out where Broken Nose was from would tell her who he was.
"Just because I saw it in bamboo doesn't mean a thing, he could be anywhere...!" The vision stuck in her mind. Moist soil, dark, almost black, and in forested hills...
"NO WAY!" Dovie half-shouted as she realized..
"Of course...He's in the North... just like She was in the South... I have to go talk to Uncle, now..." Dovie made purposefully for the door but, as she went to reach for the handle, rammed straight into something very hard and fell flat on her back.
"...Oh, ow..." Dovie gasped after regaining her breath. Her nose throbbed with pain, and the surrounding area was echoing the same horrible feeling. "Ugh, maybe it meant I was going to break my nose... Dang... What the heck did I..." Dovie slowly stood and looked at the door...only... Was someone standing there..?[/glow]
