With his boredom renewed, Yamaroshi walked into the Dueling hall hoping to watch a duel, but not planning to do any dueling himself. He sat down and watched all the people, hoping that two of them would start a duel.
He would have challenged somebody to a duel himself, but he didn't feel up to it. "Somebody duel," he muttered quietly to himself.

"I'm Yamaroshi Riel," he replied. "But I'm just here to watch actually. I don't feel up to dueling. Never done it before."

The appearance of an enemy can sometimes cast a shadow over one's mood, 'and' change their plans.
"Hello Yamaroshi..." Came a calm and collected voice, somewhere behind Yamaroshi. Leaning against the wall behind the boy, Mai rested with her arms crossed lazily over her chest, perhaps he would recognise the voice, before he saw the features. Moments would tell.
The demoness hardly intended to start a fight inside the school, whether it be in a Dueling Hall or not, it just wasn't proper. Afterall, she wasn't permitted to hurt any of the students on their own turf, and she didn't intend to, unless in self defence. Yamaroshi still had quite a score to settle with this demoness, for she had taken the life of one of his, no doubt, best friends.
She smirked, gazing at his turned back through cunning eyes. She'd observed the conversation with the other boy moments before, but for now it was just Yamaroshi and Mai. Showdown. He was alone in a sense, though she still had no intentions to fight him, yet...

A quiver went up Yamaroshi's spine. He could have sworn he heard Mai's voice, but what would she enter the castle for. He wasn't positive he actually heard her voice, but he needed to know.
He reached into his pocket quickly and pulled out the first thing his hand touched which happened to be his wand. He turned around quickly and sure enough, he saw Mai.
Yamaroshi threw up his wand and flipped it over so that his wand was pointing towards Mai and not him.
Although he had so wanted revenge, he wasn't ready yet. He couldn't fight her now. An idea entered Yamaroshi's head suddenly. "Serpansortia!" he shouted as a long, black snake appeared between them with an explosion.
Before the snake could attack Mai, he told it to come to him, and unless Mai had parselmouth, she could only hear hissing. The snake slithered over to Yamaroshi, then turned around a opened it's mouth, exposing it's fangs.
Yamaroshi hoped that as long as he didn't attack first, Mai wouldn't attack back, although it was hard since he so craved revenge. "Why are you here?" he asked angrily as he tried to think of other spells he could use.

Mai frowned as Yamaroshi brought out his wand. If there was one thing she disliked, it was those things, she never quite knew what would come out their end. Within moments of the boy's surprise, he'd performed a quick spell and evoked a snake by his side.
The snake's eyes caught Mai's and she frowned hard at it. In return it opened it's mouth and hissed venomously, exposing a dangerous set of fangs. She fought off her concern and shifted her gaze to Yamaroshi instead. His two beautifully different eyes had always intrigued her.
"Oh, I simply wanted to watch a duel..." She said with sardonic innocence in her plain voice. Her arms remained crossed, as did her legs and she smirked, her trademark smirk. One that held her onlooker undecisive about whether she was planning to attack them, or simply walk off.

Yamaroshi very scarcely believed Mai was here simply to watch a duel, but he couldn't think of any other reason why Mai would enter the castle. It didn't really matter anyway. A mere snake would not be enough to fight off a demon.
He remembered the encounter with Mai in the forbidden forest. He used only one spell on Mai which didn't work too well, so he'd need something better. He left both his shuriken and his invisibility cloak in his dorm, so they couldn't help him either.
"Is that really why you're here?" he asked while trying to contimplate a spell. "Why would a demoness like yourself want to watch two mortals duke it out?"

A small and obviously lost 1st year walks into the hall, darts his eyes around the nearly empty room, and notices the engagement taking place.
Knowing well that high-powered wizard duels can be very dangerous to bystanders, he quickly turns on his heel and quietly makes for the doorway.

{ooc}: Eeek! Sorry Yamaroshi! I completely forgot about this thread...You've probably moved on but I'll continue just for the sake of it.
{bic}: Mai could sense the mortals need to protect himself, her mere presence appeared to be making him uncomfortable. She didn't blame him, for he was dangerously vulnerable, even though she had no intention of touching him. "Pure entertainment..." She muttered, answering his second question in a cold tone.
The demoness eyed Yamaroshi carefully, his body movement, his breathing, his expressions and most of all, his wand. A smirk slowly slid across her face, then disappeared as a sincere expression took over. "You want your revenge do you not?" She said, taunting him. She knew he'd have every intention of striking at her, and it was his place, for she was on his territory.
Mai lingered only a few more moments before she dove forward off the wall, heading straight for him. A loud flap resounded off the dueling hall walls as two massive black wings stretched from her shoulder blades. She was a meter away from him when she slipped a shiny object from her boot and sliced the head of the snake off cleanly, watching it dissolve into nothing as it writhed in magical pain.
Laughing in a cruel tone she slid the dagger back into her boot and turned for a moment, blowing a kiss at Yamaroshi before gliding out of the hall and scooping up the body of the youngster as he tried to exit silently. The demoness felt the body tense in fright and she flew forward, dropping him and watching him skid helplessly along the polished floors of the castle.
With another heartless laugh she called back to Yamaroshi. "Come and kill me when you figure out how too!" She shrieked evily as students scattered out of her way, screaming at the demonic sight inside what was their home. Mai flashed horrific grins in their directions before bursting out of an open window at the top of one of the towers. Her laugh echoed through the heavens as she slowly disappeared, heading straight for the forbidden forest.

Yamaroshi watched Mai jump through the window and let out a sigh of relief for not having to fight.
Now his thirst for revenge was stronger, as was his hate towards Mai, but he wasn't ready to fight her and proboably wouldn't be for some time.
Along with all of the hate, Yamaroshi felt confused as to why Mai had blown him a kiss. After thinking on it for a moment, he decided it was probably just Mai's way of tormenting him.
After that small conflict, he was no longer in any mood to watch a duel. He put his wand away and walked out of the dueling hall.
