Faye cautiously makes her way into the dance hall, suprised to see it completly empty. After making absolutly sure there was no one hiding anywhere, she set down a small stereo and plugged it into the wall. Sighing, she removed her sneakers and slipped into a pair of beat up ballet slippers, faded by time and wear.
Flicking on the stereo, she relaxed for a few moments before the music began.
Good night my angel time to close you eyes
And save these questions for another day
I think I know what you've been asking me
I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you
And you should always know
Where ever you may go
No matter where you are
I never will be far away
She spun around on the floor, releasing her worries and forgetting about everything but herself and the music. It throbbed through her, the quiet lyrics and the soothing piano.. just, everything...
Good night my angel now it's time to sleep
And still so many things I want to say
Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean
I'm rocking you to sleep
The water's dark and deep
Inside this ancient heart
You'll always be a part of me
Tilting her head back, she launched into a series of jump turns, followed by a careful recline into the hard, wooden floor. Arching her back down like a cat, she slenderly bent upwards again, carefully pointing her toes before jumping up.
Goodnight my angel now it's time to dream
And dream how wondeful your life will be
Someday your child will cry and if you sing this lullaby
Then in your heart there will always be a part of me
Someday we'll all be gone
But lullabies go on and on
They never die that's how you and I will be
The music stopped and she did too, spinning to a close and extending one hand heavenward. After holding the pose for a moment, she dropped down to the floor, satisfied.
