ooc: Sorry, guys.. really, I am... I'll be much better from now on, I promise >.<
bic: Carrie, having returned after temping for a wizarding school in Germany, felt bad. In fact, she felt worse than bad. A whole lot worse. In fact, she thought she felt ill. Apart from the fact nurses didn’t get ill.
Kasey had been in contact with her loads while she had been in Europe, but it still wasn’t quite the same, and when apparating into Hogsmeade, Carrie had almost instantly heard news of the bad goings on in the school. While she had been almost relaxing on her job in Germany, and becoming the tiniest little bit more organised while she had been at it, Carrie felt even worse than she had before. The flu had gone around a lot in Germany, and she couldn’t help but wonder if she had picked it up off one of the students.
Shaking her head, and trying to get rid of the sudden hot flush, the brown haired nurse fled up to the school as fast as she could.
Reaching the Hospital Wing in record time, looking a little clammy and flustered, her brown eyes looked round. She wasn’t due to take Kasey off from her shift for another hour and a half, thank goodness, so Carrie had time to shower and change, but she felt she should at least let someone know she was there.
“Kasey? Shae? Anyone around? I’m home!” Carrie called out, loudly enough for them to hear, but not loud enough to wake up any sleeping patients, or so she hoped. Her ears were so blocked, she couldn’t quite tell.

Kasey had been not quite sleeping as well as she would have liked lately, after the 'wonderful' visit from the Demoness, Maí Lé Rosá. She still sported a faint scar on her left cheek from the halberd, that had been sent hurtling towards Lottie. But now nightmares of that night now plagued her once peaceful sleep.
Dark circles rimmed her bright blue eyes, that despite the lack of sleep, still held their trademark twinkle. Finally there had been a break in people coming in and out of the Wing, so the blonde nurse had slipped into her office to try to get some much needed sleep. But no sooner had she closed her eyes it seemed, that scenes from the deadly night flashed before her eyes.
Watching for what seemed like the fiftieth time, as the halberd flew past gashing her left once more, the pain felt real, and as it slammed into the wall it jolted her from her sleep at the same time hearing her name being called. Getting off the couch, quickly wiping a hand across her scar as if to expect blood to be flowing from it, but of course it was still dry.
Stepping out of the office as her hand dropped back to her side, Kasey looked around for the person who had called out to her. Soon she found her. "Carrie!" the blonde Hufflepuff exclaimed running over to her friend and fellow nurse, grabbing her in a hug "How did it go? What was it like?" she asked starting to reel off questions like Lottie would.

The ghost heard someone calling, and while she thought she recognised the voice, she hadn't heard it for a while and wasn't quite sure. Looking out to see who it was, a smile grew on the phantomess' face.
"Welcome back Carrie, learn anything from the Germans?" she asked leaving her book open on her desk and going to greet the nurse.
Looking the brunett up and down, another question occurred to her.
"Did you catch anything from the Germans? You don't look crash hot you know," she added, summoning a cup of fresh, hot - ordinary - tea for the returned nurse.
"Nothing but tea in that one, promise," she said as the cup passed her, putting one hand over her chest and holding up the other one in the old "I do solemnly swear it" way she had done when she was a child - she suspected everyone had done something like it.

Carrie almost fell backwards as KAsey tackled her in a hug. "Hey!" she laughed, taking in the questions. "It went fine, and it wasn't really much different from here, apart from the language..." Carrie mused with a small smile on her face, "but for the first few days, the old temp nurse sat me in the office with an english to german dictionary so I knew the basics," and with a grin, she added, "But most of the time, the students had to play Charades so I knew what was wrong."
Before she could comment on Kasey, Shae joined the two. She should have known the ghost nurse would know something was wrong. Accepting the cup of tea with a mock-weary look, her face lightened up as soon as the hot liquid began going down her throat. "That's great, Shae! Thanks!" Drinking a little more, the brunette nodded. "I think it's just a cold, nothing to worry about... it'll be gone by the end of the day," she explained with a nod, trying to remember what she had learnt.
"Well..." she began, "Believe it or not, I've learnt how to be that tiny bit more organised..not much more, mind, just a little... and... oh! You have to go over there at Christmas one year! Their markets are amazing! So colourful and friendly and amazing! They do the best lollipops ever! I brought some back, too! A...A....A..." Carrie said, trying to explain something else, but a small sneeze took its place.
"Bless me," she sniffed a little, drinking her tea slowly. "So what's been happening here? Kasey you look so tired....I'm so sorry I had to go, really... I should have stayed..."

Ashlle popped out of the Closet that she was constantly re-arranging and smiled at Carrie. "Welcome back Carrie!" she said Happily "Guess what, when you left so did everyone else and i was made Head Nurse! It was fun but then people kept getting hurt, then it was scary."
She grinned as if that had been the must interesting time in her life so far and giggled. "Are you back for good now?" she asked.

Carrie grinned as Ashlle told of her few weeks as Head Nurse. "And I bet you still did great!" she replied, finishing her tea and digging around in her bag, tossing Ashlle a pack of candies from one of the Christmas markets.
When the youngest nurse asked if Carrie was back for good, the brunette's grin grew. "So long as they don't send me anywhere else, I'm back for good."

Kasey shook her head as Carrie suggested that her leaving was the reason for the blonde nurses exhaustion. "The lack of sleep has nothing to do with you leaving Carrie, trust me" she said giving a small sigh and tilting he head to the side.
Looking up she smiled as Shae and Ashlle appeared, "Hello guys, how are you both?". She held her smile as she listened to Carrie tell them all about her trip to Germany, then heard Shae mention the brunette didn't look all that crash hot. "Hmmm...yeah you do look rather flushed Carrie, are you ok?" she asked leaning forward a little to study her fellow nurses face a bit closer.

As Kasey did this, Carrie's eyebrows raised. "Will you quit fussing already?" she laughed, using her wand to send her travel bag into her small bedroom just off the office. Taking a step backwards and running her eyes over the blonde nurse's face, the brunette shook her head. "This just won't do."
Walking over to the potions cupboard, it took Carrie a few tries to remember where they were kept, but eventually pulled out two bottles. "Aha!" Removing two plastic cups from beside the cupboard, Carrie put a small amount of liquid from each bottle into seperate cups before looking at Shae. "Do we have any Cammomile tea around?"
Turning her attention back to Kasey, soft brown eyes were filled with concern as she spoke. "Kase, drink these and get yourself some rest. I'll take you off early... Shae and Ashlle are here too, so no worries, okay?" Looking down at the potions in her hands, Carrie held them out one at a time. "Sleeping potion and dreamless sleep potion. Looks like you could use some," she smiled gently, wondering if her friend would accept them.

Kasey's eyebrow's rose too as Carrie stepped back from her and proceeded to examine her face. Eyes wide she righted herself and watched as the brunette gathered up some potions.
"Sleeping potion and dreamless sleep potion. Looks like you could use some,"
The blonde nurse lowered her brow's but kept one raised and a smirk found her lips, as she eyed the two cups and her friend. "Hmmm.....fine" she said taking the two cup and downing the contents, "But I'm sleeping in the office" she said turning in its direction.

"Too right you are," Carrie muttered, placing her hands on her friend's shoulders and guiding her through to the still made bed in the little room next to the office where there was still a spare bed. Kasey had moved back into the Hufflepuff dorms not long after Carrie had taken up her post, but her bed was still there.
Pulling back the covers, Carrie smiled and gestured for her to lie down. "Don't worry, just get some shut eye, okay?" the brunette nurse smiled. "And if you're not asleep in five, one I'll be very surprised, and two, I send Shae through with some tea for you." With a small wink, Carrie headed back out of the room, turned off the light and shut the door to, so there was still a small gap.
Though the curiosity was still there.
Returning to the wing with her labcoat on, Carrie smiled at Ashlle and Shae. "So... what've I missed?"

The blonde nurse smiled at Carrie as she placed her hands on her shoulders and let her into the spare room beside the office. "Wow...its still here" she exclaimed seeing her bed still standing against the wall, "Maybe I should move back in here....it may prevent further nightmares" Kasey added just before a yawn slipped from her lips. "Thanks Carrie" she said hugging the brunette nurse. Kasey never thought she would be so happy to have her back.
She crawled under the covers and rested her head on the soft pillow, her eyes fluttered shut and within minutes she was asleep.

"Do I have camomile tea?" the ghost repeated, hands on hips.
"I've got every kind of flipping tea this planet has to offer, I've even dug up a few extra combinations the world had forgotten about completely for the last couple of millenia," she said, almost raving about her collection of teas.
Then Carrie asked about what she had missed, and the dead girl calmed down again, almost impossibly quickly.
"You've missed one war and arrived almost smack in the middle of another best guess, but I just treat the casualties, Ashlle's the one who tries to help the wars be won by decent people as quickly as possible," she said, mildly mournful over this truth.
"People just don't seem to be getting along so well any more," she sighed to herself before smiling up at the returned nurse.
"I might have known you'd find some new kind of lolly pop Carrie," the phantomess said between restrained giggles.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry," Carrie squealed, hiding a smile as Shae made her returning comment on the request for camomile tea. "I'll never doubt it again, I promise," the brunette laughed, shaking her head. "But have you got a list of some sort anywhere? It may come in useful..." Luckily it didn't take the phantomess long to calm down and fill Carrie in on current events.
Wars and casualities from war were one thing the brunette nurse was not overly confident on. It wasn't that she didn't know how to deal with the injuries, it was more about trying to get her head around exactly what had happened. After all, people tended to give such long winded stories, when sometimes it was only needing one or two sentences. "Great," the brunette answered as cheerily as she could muster. Sometimes after experiences at war, all people needed was a cheerful smiling face to be there, especially after they woke up. But treatments, Carrie managed to stumble her way through usually, even if she needed the tiniest bit of help.
"But why can't people just get along, Shae?" Carrie asked, reaching for a tissue from the box on the desk and blowing her nose. Feeling another hot flush coming on, her labcoat came off and she sat down on the chair behind the desk as her cheeks grew redder. "I mean is it so difficult?"
But a small smile came back onto her lips as Shae began laughing, even if she was trying to hold them back. "Oh you know me so well!" Carrie laughed a little, quietly summoning the bag of sweets from her bag in the bedroom and taking one out as it reached her. "See these? They taste like strawberry to begin with, but as the lolly goes on, the flavours change. It's so cool," she smiled, blowing her nose again.
"Has someone lit a few more fires around this place?"

The ghost smiled almost wickedly.
"It's alright, but I don't have a list, just shelf upon shelf," she said gesturing vaguely to the room that had become her office at some point.
"Don't ask me why they can't get along, but I try very hard to make them get along when they end up in here," the phantomess said gravely as she fixed her long floating tresses back in place.
"Fires? Possibly, we have to do something in here to balance me out," she answered, allowing a falsely cheeky smile to spread across her face.

ooc: It made me laugh ;D
bic: "It's the best thing to do," Carrie agreed. Wars and squabbles were to be kept outside an area meant for healing and rest. The last thing the nurses in the wing needed was a war taking place in their very own place.
As Shae answered her question, the brunette nurse smiled and shook her head. "I guess so," she laughed as the faint pricklings of a headache began to make themselves apparent between her eyebrows.
The eyes underneath those brows showed concern almost immediately, however, as chocolate brown eyes strayed towards the room Kasey was in. "Any idea why Kase is so tired?" she asked, glancing around the ward to make sure all the patients were okay. "I don't think I've ever seen her quite so out of it."
