The doors to the Hospital Wing slowly opened with a loud creak, and two forms flew in on a broom. One a Hufflepuff student, her skin pale and her breath coming out in a fog, jaw chattering from the cold. The other a Gryffindor Prefect, attacked by the Lycan Fenris Fenrir. Roan drifted over to an empty bed, her charge Hayzie behind her. Neither could walk, the Puff from a blown out knee, and Hayzie for her own reasons known to many. Gently the brunette slid off the broom, using one hand to stabalize herself, and then using her wand and other hand to help Hayzie onto the bed. The Gryffindor's arm was bleeding, but other than that Roan wasnt sure of the extent of her injuries.
"Here we are Miss, Ill just leave you here for a nurse to take care of you. I hope that Fenris Fenrir didnt injure you too badly. Whatever it is, Im sure they can help you." Roan said kindly to the girl, sitting down on an empty bed next to her. She had no intentions of staying so the nurses could coo over her again. The chill that was clinging to her body would fade with time, and with a brace and a couple spells of her own she would mend her seriously injured knee. The burns, well, she would figure that out later. Roan didnt want to be cooped up in the Wing, and was just resting on the bed for a moment.
"Im glad I was able to help you. Im Roan from Hufflepuff if you ever need help again. Ill be around, Fenris and I seem to have grown attatched to each other, it seems we fight more and more lately. Good Luck to you Miss." She said quietly, flashing the Gryffindor a small smile and patting her on the shoulder a bit. Then with a pained look on her face she stood using her broom as an aide, and looked around the peaceful Hospital Wing, a calm look on her pale face.
This isnt for me, my body will get stronger if I just live this out. She thought, getting ready to leave. Using the broom as a walking stick she headed towards the door, flying wasnt permitted inside, and she only did it before because she couldnt carry Hayzie. With small clacks each time the wood hit the ground, she made her way slowly to the door, turning around to look at the Gryffindor with a calming smile, and then opened it with one hand, taking a few steps out into the hall, leaving the door to the Hospital Wing open.

"Roan, wait!" Hayzie called out, knowing the stubborn resilliance the Hufflepuff was showing too well. It was similar to her own. It was the reason Hayz hated coming to the Hospital Wing herself, and if Roan didn't stop to get healed properly, her knee would only get worse."If you can't walk without help from the broom, you're not okay," the Prefect explained seriously while holding the cloth against the bite. Why it wasn't hurting as much as it had when Rikka bit her was beyond the blonde.
The calming smile hadn't done it for Hayz at all. Nowhere near. Hayzie hated being in the hospital wing, but knew that she wasn't going anywhere until Kasey could, hopefully provide her with a new wheelchair. A trip to Diagon Ally was going to be needed too. Mr. Ollivander knew Hayz by sight now.
Shaking her head, and becoming more authoratitve, Hayz turned a steely gaze onto the girl. "Listen, I'm very grateful for how you've helped me today, really... but now it's my turn to help you. I promise Kasey and Shae aren't that bad.... heck they give you cocoa if you're in here overnight," she smiled weakly. "Please, Roan... I'm Hayzie, by the way... I don't think I introduced myself earlier."

Roan stopped at the sound of Hayzie's voice, turning around as quickly as her body would allow her. She took note of the girl's words and cast her eyes towards the ground. The stubborn girl couldnt admit to herself she would only be injuring her body more if she was to leave and tend to things herself. But she had an encounter in here a while ago, with the ghost, Shae. It had been after Fenris attacked her the first time, fracturing ribs and knocking her out cold. After that frightening time with the ghost, Roan had stayed away from the Wing every time she was injured. Including the time at the lake when the lycan cut her back with his claws, for which she still had scars.
"I know they are kind Miss Hayzie, I just dont like it here. Not to say Im scared, but I think my body will heal itself, even this darned knee." She tapped it with one hand and let out a hiss when it twinged. Without the adreniline of the battle to keep her mind off the pain, it was all coming back to her. Even the cold had lost its hold on the burns, so they were stinging on her skin. A look of pain crossed her face and she quickly turned her face away from Hayzie so the Gryffindor couldnt see. Her knuckles were white on her broom. Da***it She thought angrily.
You have to stay, you have to stay. Her conscious told her as she stood there, her eyes wide. With an angry sigh she stood there, thinking about what to do. If she left she could go to the Library and read, get her mind off the pain. Then when the night got really late she could sneak back into the Common Room so nobody could hassle her back to the Hospital Wing. Then in her room she could heal herself as best she knew how. But the cold, she didnt know how to remove that from herself.
Turning back towards Hayzie, there was a cold and annoyed look on her face as she slowly, very slowly made her way back to that bed next to the Prefect. When she reached it she sat down, hissing again at the pain on her knee. Giving the girl a small smile, she put the broom on the ground with a pale and shaky hand. "Im not staying, Im not even sure what Im doing. Im just thinking and it hurts to stand. I just think my body will get stronger if I deal with this without potions and spells..." She was cut off by a twinge from her knee, which she glared at. "I should just cut the stupid thing off...." She muttered darkly. Roan had no intentions of staying yet, just waiting for an answer to come to her. "And by the way, I hate hot cocoa." She said with a small smile at the Gryffindor.

"Please stay, Roan.." Hayzie whispered, reaching over and placing a hand on the girl's arm. "Please. Honestly, you'll do yourself more harm than good," the blonde carried on, hoping for the best. At the mention that she should just cut the thing off, Hayz gave a wry smile. Her legs were as good as cut off, she couldn't feel them, or the rest of her legs. She hadn't had that pleasure in over six months.
Giving one final shake of the head to try and get rid of the thoughts. Negativity wouldn't help either of them. "If you won't stay for you... will you stay here with me? I hate the Hospital Wing... seriously.. I hate it. I'd feel much better if I had some company..."

Roan looked up at Hayzie, desperatley trying to mask the pain in her eyes. Since she had gotten into this war, she was getting better, but with every battle worse was done to her. She couldnt keep the Prefect's gaze, but looked out a window. With a small nod she uttered in a quiet voice. "Alright, Ill stay. But its not for my sake, its for yours. Though they arent to touch my injuries until they heal you. I didnt leave that battle so I could come here and have to rest in the Hospital Wing." She said quietly with a sigh. This was not how she wanted to spend the night, though it may very well end up that way.
The girl was not a big fan of the magical healings. She grew up a muggle, a splint and a brace were enough for her. But she knew as soon as a nurse came in, someone would be pouring potions down her throat. Well, at least after they were done with Hayzie. Roan wasnt going to let a nurse touch her until the Gryffindor was healed of her own injuries. Any life was more important than her own.
Her body gave a shudder as she remembered the chill in her body. Wrapping her trembling arms around her torso, she contined to stare out a window. If she had any strength left in her by the end of this war, she would make Xailyn pay for that pain. It had taken many hours to rid herself of thoughts of weakness, now she had to do that work again. Not only that, but the cold was haunting her. Oh yes, she wanted to fight that demoness before this was all over and Roan was in her grave. Just one more to add to that list.
Right now all the two could do was wait for a nurse to come and ease their pain, before peace could finally be found. Before Roan could re enter the battlefield and continue the job she had set her heart to when this war had started.

A door opened, and remained quite open for a while as three bottles, two rolls of bandages, a strange jar that contained a balm to treat burns, and two smoothed pieces of wood floated out. Followed by the phantomess who worked as a nurse in the Wing, and two hot water bottles.
Of course, the dead girl hadn't heard all of the conversation - she didn't really care to - but she had surreptitiously stuck her head through the wall as she had grown into the habit of doing. Her eyes worked perfectly well, and she could see most of the damage that had been done to the two girls on the beds that were now before her.
One of the bottles and the jar of balm landed on the bed-side table next to Roan, the other two bottles next to Hayzie.
"That's a local anesthetic, Roan, a muggle drug, and let me tell you it took a lot of finding. I know there are some students who dislike magic potions for healing, so I accommodate. I've even been known to use a drip for slowly giving students blood they need," honestly the ghost's memory was really quite good.
"The bandages and splints are for you as well, but I'll apply them to your knee please, I know a little better how," her tone was stern, but her eyes were kind upon the Hufflepuff before she turned to Hayzie.
"Can you apply that to yourself, or would you like me to set them doing it for you, so that you needn't move?" she asked the Gryffindoor prefect, motioning to the potion bottles beside her. They had already up-ended themselves to soak a couple of cotton balls so that their contents could easily be applied to the wound on Hayzie's arm.
"And I've brought you both a hot-water bottle, it's a cool night, I thought you might be glad of these as well as the blankets you are resting on," she said, sitting down on a hard, wooden chair - much like the older seats in the classrooms - at the end of Hayzie's bed.
"Is there anything else I've missed that hurts? The view from the wall-" here she waved her hand vaguely at the wall immediately next to the door she had come out from, "-isn't really very brilliant. And I promise you Roan that burn-balm has only been magicked to work faster than it would normally, it's just a regular balm."

Dammit. From what Shae was saying it looked like the two would be in there overnight. Glancing to the cotton wool which was already damp with some sort of potion, the Prefect's green eyes widened a little. Boy how she hated this bit. In a way, she wished Shae could find a way of borrowing a wheelchair from somewhere and leave the wounds to heal themselves.
Looking between the cotton wool balls and the ghost, Hayzie replied: "I'll do it..." before taking the cloth off her wound and reaching over for the balls with her hand on her uninjured arm. Taking a deep breath, and biting her lip, remembering how much the potion hurt, Hayz dabbed it gently, so it was hardly touching the surface of the wound. How she hated potions (the subject and the bottled ones).
As Shae asked if there was anything else that hurt, Hayz shook her head. "Nothing with me..." she whispered, seriously hoping to be out in half an hour or so... and that there was a spare wheelchair around somewhere...

Roan gave a small cry of shock when Shae entered the room. She had met the ghost before, but it was still a surprise. Her hazel eyes lit up though when she saw the splint, and then heard what was in one of the bottles. The girl never thought she would be able to get the muggle treatment of things here, instead of the magical quick heal. "Thank You Miss." She said quietly, taking the balm and the anesthetic with shaky hands. Now she could heal her way, and it would make her body stronger for it to take care of its own wounds, with a little bit of help. The Hufflepuff would need all the strength she could get in the coming days.
Calmly she took the top off the bottle and took a few of the small pills inside. The girl was used to dry-swallowing these things, and downed them quickly. Then unscrewing the top of the balm, she proceeded to place it on all the burns she could see, cringing each time it touched the sensitive skin. While she did this she looked at Shae. "Thank you for this. There is no point in showing my body it can be healed in a second with a potion. Ill grow more resistant to the pain if I just wait it out. I never knew I could get muggle treatments here though..."
The last part was at a whisper as she finished with the balm, putting the top back on. The anesthetic was kicking in and the twinge in her knee wasnt so bad, nor the ache from the cold in her body. Though a look of annoyance crossed her face when Shae seemed to hint at the fact they would be staying overnight, and it wasnt like Roan needed to after her knee was splinted, so the girl hoped she was mistaken in her guess. For it would be a pain to have to sneak out of here.
When the ghost asked if they had anymore injuries, Roan shook her head. There was no point in telling her what the demoness had done to her. Her skin had turned a half-way normal color by now, all that was left was the chill in her throat and bones. Nothing that couldnt be beaten out by a warm blanket. Roan shifted herself on the bed so that her legs were out straight, and she was propped up by her palms. That was Shae could easily get to her injured knee. The lycan had put a great deal of force in the blow, so it was easy to see which knee had been harmed.

The ghost nodded her appreciation of Roan's thanks, and that the Hufflepuff was willing to let her help. While she hoped Roan wouldn't jump at the splint seeming to be attatching itself to her leg, she thought of where there might be a spare wheelchair for Hayzie.
It was very clear to her that niether of the girls really wanted to stay overnight, and while the phantomess knew other nurses might insist, she wouldn't. She would only make sure they got back to their own beds safely.
Soon Roan's knee was securely splinted, and might even support a little of the girl's weight, though of course, there was no way the spectre would reccommend it just yet.
"I'd advise you to keep off it as much as you can, but I'm half sure you want to be moving again as soon as possible," she said, getting up from the hard wooden chair she had been appearing to sit in.
Floating back to what was almost considered her office, the ghost found what she was looking for behind a door that went off behind the room in which the potions were kept and made.
Returning to Hayzie and Roan, the ghost suspected that what she brought might just be a welcome sight. A wheelchair and a pair of walking sticks, (no-one liked to need crutches beyond a certain age, and the common ones were bad for the nerve endings in a person's armpits anyway.) She knew that there would be times when some of the students who came in wouldn't want to lie down and rest as they needed to, so she had found these in much the same way she had found the muggle medicines.
"I daresay you two can use these," looking at Roan as the walking sticks went to her she added "At least for now," before collecting up the potion bottles and burn-balm and returning to her little office-of-sorts.
