It seemed the faerie found himself going to the Hospital Wing more often than not these days. The student sleeping fitfully in his arms would not be the first he had delivered to the sick bay. Lately, more and more students ended up there. More and more students were attacked. The faerie’s brow furrowed in thought. Why hadn’t he been aware of it? He lived almost right next to the Forbidden Forest, but he hadn’t felt anything different. Something strange was happening, and he didn’t like it one bit.
His dragonfly wings sent a quiet hum throughout the area as they carried him and his charge up the stairway towards their destination. Landing softly in front of the doors, he shifted his hold on her to free on hand carefully, so as not to jolt the injured girl. The door opened silently on its well-oiled hinges and the faerie slipped in before it closed with a slight sound.
The faerie’s violet eyes quickly scanned the room for an available bed, his light steps making no noise as he moved toward it. Gently laying the brown-haired child on the white sheets, brushing a piece of hair out of her face as he did so. It didn’t look good. It looked as if she had a few fractured ribs, at least; perhaps even a concussion. Deciding the nurses wouldn’t mind if he administered an anesthetic, he left the girl and headed towards the potions cabinet.

"You won't touch that cabinate," came the slightly hollow and resonant voice of the phantom nurse.
A trail of potions had followed her out of the large cold room that held the bulk of the potions.
"You tell me what happened while I tend to her," she added, as the potions floated around, doing what they were meant to do.
Potions for ribs, mending flesh, and easy rest were dripped carefully down the girl's throat while others were applied to skin by a cloth.

Pain. Confusion. Anger. All washed over Roan as she made her way up to the Hospital Wing in the faerie's arms. For the moment she slept lightly, aware of the throbbing pain in her chest, and the dizziness of her head. The young girl was grateful Luka carried her lightly, making the journey void of unwanted movement. She grimaced lightly in her sleep as he landed in front of the Wing, and opened the door. That was when sleep had loosened its grip, and her eyes softly opened.
Her sore body welcomed the softness of the bed, and Roan closed her eyes for a moment, thankful for her rescue. The pain in her chest was dull, and her breathing was shallow and ragged, a result of a collision with an 8 foot lycan. The young girl's eyes turned to follow Luka, the one who had retrieved her from the library, walking over to the medicine cabinet. She was still confused on the whole situation, why he had decided to help her, but right now she had to trust him.
Then a voice that cut through her ears entered the room, and she turned to see a ghost entering, cold in her wake. Fear entered her eyes as the ghost, and apparently the nurse, came near to her. She wished to pull away, and tried, but pain and fear kept her in her place. She spoke again and Roan closed her eyes and let a tear fall out of her eye, afraid to do anything. How was she expected to trust anyone after what had happened this night.
The potion that went down her throat went down unwillingly, and Roan watched as the ghost turned to Luka. She herself shot him a pleading look, wanting an explination for what was going on, she didnt trust the ghost, not one bit.

The fae’s slender fingers just brushed the wood of the forbidden cupboard as the ghost girl’s command echoed through the wing. You won’t touch that cabinet. Too late, Luka thought, feeling a smile creep onto his face as he recognized the specter’s voice. “Hello, Miss Shae,” he greeted quietly, turning from the shelves of medicines. He had met the spirit before, but the encounter was brief and she had to depart soon after. Luka wasn’t sure if she remembered him, but her pale face had not yet left his memory.
Catching the frightened look on the girls face, the faerie was soon by the bedside, his movements silent and swift. Noting the tear streak on her face, he lightly traced it with a finger. “Now, that can’t do,” he said in a soft voice, offering her a reassuring smile. “Miss Shae is very capable of healing your wounds. Now please calm yourself.” The most striking thing about this fae other than the unusual violet color of his eyes was most likely his composure. He seemed to have an aura of serenity about him, even in the most stressful of situations, and now was no exception. “I am not certain what happened, for this was the way I found her,” he said, directing attention back to the transparent figure across from him. “Though I did find her in the company of two demons, I do not believe it is safe to assume it was they who inflicted this damage. There was evidence of a conflict earlier, and both demons were unharmed. It seems clear that she was caught in the crossfire.”

Demons.
"I don't suppose you got their names, did you?" She asked, grim.
Under her careful bright green eyes, the potions worked. Flesh mended, bone set, and hopefully the girl would rest easy.
"Will you stay with her for a while, Luka?" She asked, remembering the name that went with the face she knew she had seen before.
"She seems to draw comfort from your presence, and stress and worry aren't good for the healing process."
The phantomess smiled softly at the girl, worry seeded in her own eyes, but buried deeply, so that no one saw.
"I meet too many people on this job," she decided. "And they all seem too fond of coming again," she murmured, her smile drawing back at the thought, and she turned from the girl so that she would not see how tired the phantom nurse was.

“One of them, I believe, goes by the name of Kailyn. The other, white-winged one I was not acquainted with.” The dark-haired fae stood by, quietly watching the potions do their work.
"Will you stay with her for a while, Luka?" the phantom asked suddenly. So she did remember his name. He nodded once in agreement and pulled up a chair. Unlike what most would do, Luka did not lean on the hard wooden back of the chair. He sat upright, to avoid crushing his gossamer wings, but the faerie still somehow gave off a relaxed, calm feeling.
However, the faerie’s composure didn’t seem to be rubbing off on the others much. The quiet fear emanating from the patient on the bed and the weariness coming from Shae was all too obvious to Luka. Being somewhat sensitive to others’ emotions, the faerie would still have been able to tell the ghost’s mood to some degree had he not seen her expression as she turned away. His violet gaze watched her back for a moment, then moved to the student. If she did not want to reveal herself to anyone, he could not do it for her. “If you ever find that you require assistance here, you are welcome to find me,” he said. There was little he could do but offer his aid.

The phantomess smiled gratefully at the faerie.
"Thank you Luka," she said, smiling her relief and thanks.
One semi-transparent hand ran through hair that was the same colour as Luka's hair.
"I'm afraid I don't know Kaylin, but white wings sounds familiar. Not really on speaking terms with him though, if it's the demon I'm thinking of. Ah well, it's your well-being I'm concerned with first, rather than finding who did this to you and serving them up," she said, to herself at first, then turning to Roan.
She checked all the injuries she had seen on the girl again, making sure that everything was healing properly. It did appear to be.
"Now you've got to rest, I can't do anything more for you right now."
The dead girl rubbed her eyes tiredly, this was almost getting too much.
"If either of you get hungry there's some warm soup through there," she said, pointing to a door. "Feel free to help yourselves, now, if you'll excuse me, I need to rest."
No, strictly speaking she couldn't sleep, but she could rest. Close her eyes and just let some peace seep through her, preferably where there was a nice atmosphere, under the stars or by the fire in the common room.
Just resting.

Well this is going well... she thought to herself, keeping her peace about what really happened. Right now it didnt matter to the Hufflepuff that they thought it was the two demons that attacked her. She wasnt quite ready to speak of Fenris, that enormous lycan. The girl just focused with interest on how the potions the ghost had adminstered were working. Pain dulled in her chest, until she knew the bones would be fine, nothing remained but an ache. Well, it was better than waiting it out for weeks. Weariness hit her like a car though, and that was something she didnt wish for. She forced her eyes to stay open, and her mind to stay focused.
When Luka spoke to her, she couldnt think of something to say back to him. Roan was so confused with what was going on, she really didnt understand exactly what the faerie was saying to her. She was just glad he wasnt going anywhere for the moment. His presense was calming, even if it didnt show on the outside. Right now her mind would be racing about everything if she didnt have something else to focus on. But while the faerie stayed, it seemd the ghost wished to take her leave.
This didnt really upset Roan. Even though she didnt distrust the ghost anymore, after what she had done for her, the presence still unnerved her. She felt she should say something though, because even if she was bothered, the Hufflepuff was grateful. "Thank you Miss..." she managed to say quietly before the ghost left the Hospital Wing. Mentally she knew she would pay her back for the kindness, and apologize for her fear. Besides, she couldnt help but pity her. Even though she had tried to hide it, Roan could sense some weariness as Shae floated away, the way she ran her fingers through her hair. It was sad that someone so good was tired like that.
With Shae gone, she closed her eyes for only a moment before breathing deeply. Roan still fought sleep, she didnt want to yet. Even though it would be a magically induced sleep, nightmares were sure to come. She knew it down in her heart, that even though her physical suffering was over, the young girl would still pay for her big mouth in her dreams. "I have been foolish..."she said quietly again, not managing to bring her voice above a whisper, not really caring if Luka heard or not. She turned her gaze to look at him. "Thank you for getting me out of there sir. Im grateful. Please, if you do not wish to stay, I wont be offended. You have done more for me than I would have expected of anyone."
And this she meant. If she owed a debt to Shae for the healing, the debt she owed to Luka was greater. If it wasnt for him, Roan would still be in the clutches of demons. And that could have been worse than Fenris's torture.

Though he did wonder what the phantom meant exactly by resting, Luka refrained from commenting as she made her departure. “I apologize for taking up your time. Thank you for your help. You have done more than enough,” he said to her as she disappeared into the wall. There was peaceful silence for a few moments after the ghost left. There was nothing but the soft sound of quiet breathing in the wing. It was strange how peaceful this wing was, despite all of the patients it held. It was almost as if it were a false blanket concealing the fear or pain.
The dark-haired fae’s thoughts broke off when the student on the bed spoke. He had thought she had fallen asleep already, but apparently, that wasn’t the case. Her whisper did not quite reach his ears, but the rest of her words he heard clearly. He looked out the window, waiting before responding. “I gave my word I would stay. Please do not feel as if you are keeping me here.” It wasn’t truly because he was concerned about her health. It was as much for his own sanity as it was for her. Perhaps the girl may have felt she owed a debt to him. However, by bringing her here, he was paying a greater debt of his own.

Roan watched the faerie's gaze out the window, the moment's pause a bit awkward. Then he spoke again and she blushed a little, embarassed of her question. He seemed so much more mature than her than anything she said made the girl feel a bit childish. But right now she had neither the will nor the energy to care much more. "Well thank you anyways sir, I am glad you are here." She said loud enough for someone to catch her words.
Closing her eyes, Roan stopped fighting the potion in her system, and let it drag her down into sleep. She knew that when she woke up, the faerie would most likely would be gone, but she had not the strength to speak, and she sensed he didnt wish to. The nightmares would come, the Hufflepuff was sure, but there was no more fighting what was going to happen. In her mind, Roan knew nothing would be the same anymore. That things wouldnt be so bright and simple. Her entire being would be changed, and so would her views on life. Locking that name in her mind, Fenris Fenrir, so she would not forget it, she drited down into a restless sleep plagued by nightmares.
