Stacey had knuckled down to herwork almost as soon as she had arrived at Magic Horizons, and the library staff knew her only too well. That afternoon, Stacey shot a bright smile to the young librarian at the desk and headed over to a desk near a window so she could see outside. Unfortunately, though, the only window seat free looked out over the Quidditch Pitch. Taking it, and praying her will-power would kick in some time during the course of the afternoon, Stacey glanced out of the window while pulling out her Charms paper due in three days time. Admittedly, she only had six inches left to go, but the Gryffindor wanted to get it out of the way sooner rather than later.
An hour later, however, the paper was no further than it was when Stacey first entered, the only evidence of an attempt proven by the cap being off her ink bottle. The Quidditch practise going on outside was much more interesting, watching other students whizz around on brooms ranging from top range to bottom with players from the first through to the seventh year practising. Quidditch really was the one thing that brought the world together.
Snapping back to reality and wiping the smile off her face, Stacey looked back down at her paper, based on one of the most complex charms she had ever seen. Surely if they knew how to do the spell, they didn't need to do the theory behind it, did they?
Pulling her hair back into a haphazard ponytail, the tall girl picked up her quill and began to set to work. Maybe she could have it finished before dinner so long as she didn't get distracted again.
