Aether walked threw the rows of books looking for something new to read. He was curious how the Europeans kept their books and what they had. He slide his finger over the spines of the books as he went a few of the books shaking a little as he touched their spines. He sighed finding nothing so far that peeked his interest.
He reached the restricted section of the library and he began to wonder what was so restricted by it. Honestly he thought if the books are dangerous keep them locked up in a professor's office till the professor gives permission to use them not leave then open for all to get to. He gave a smirk and pulled out his wand trying to summon a book but the book only shook and remained still. He then tried to levitate the book but it never moved. "Well they have them pretty well guarded with magic.
He knew better then to try to sneak over the rope because surely if they had blocked spells they would have it set up to alert when someone crossed the rope into the Restricted section. He sighed trying to think of a way to either find a good book in the normal section or get a book from the restricted section of the library.

Kalista sat atop the rows of cases in the restricted section, her leathery wings tucked behind her as she watched this silly little student try as he would, to gain access to something he should not have and a small smile begin to etch it sway onto the demons lips.
So, it is a restricted book this one wants, is it She thought to herself, in the quiet of the shadows, blocking her from his view. Well, who am I to keep him from his wants and desires.. Her smile broadened.
Kalista held her hand out and a black, iron bound tomb appeared in her grasp, etched in its cover, were literally burning flames that moved about as though they were alive, and, it was just as well, because real they were. This was her book, the book of hellish fire, the one copy that told of the secrets of hell fire, her secrets and any mortal would have been cast out as an idiot, if they were to gain access to its powers, and not at least, have tried to understand them; she floated it across the distance between herself and the boy, knocking him in the head with it, and then letting the book fall, face up to look at him, the flames burning in the cover spelling out his name. Aether Animus in their ghostly, hypnotizing manner.
Kalista had remembered the boy from the entrance hall, and now she chuckled slightly, quietly. The last time, she had no choice but to play nice, this time, however, she had no such restraints.

Aether rubbed his head where the book had his him. He looked around to see how the book had hit him curious as he was to find out he looked down to be kind enough to pick up the book. At first he didn't see the title or at least had not paid attention to it till he raised to stand again after lifting it off of the floor. "What the.." He uttered softly in a whisper as he read his name on the cover. The flames on the cover seemed to be burning the book yet unharming it or so his mind read the scene.
He held the book in his left hand while using his thumb to flip the cover open. He ran his hand over the inside of the cover to see if there was indeed some sort of magical flame held inside the cover. The cover seemed warm but not hot as it would have been in that case. He looked around again to see how it had hit his head. He had not cast any spells to call a book to him, at least not then the books he had targeted had not moved at all.
He moved away from the Restricted Section to find a seat in a empty part of the Library. The chair he found was only a dozen feet from the Restricted section. He sat down in the chair holding the book on his lap touching the cover "Where did you come from?" he ask the book of course not expecting to any a answer of course but the situation was curious to say the least.

Kalista watched him closely as he turned the book in his hand, and, as she figured, the curious nature that is human, got the better of him and he took the book to a place more suitable to study. He seemed a bit confused by it all, and that, once again, brought a smile to the demons face. Oh how she loved these human creatures. Loved how easily they confused and how easily it was she always seemed to get her way with them, each like a new toy she whispered into the shadows as she moved in perfect silence from one shelf top to the next, until she was now, residing just to the left of him, her white eyes peering down as he held her book in his hand.
As if in answer to his question, the book flew open to the first page, where there was what seemed to be senseless symbols that was perhaps a sort of scripture he couldn’t have known, but the words all the same, seemed to move and rotate, changing from the ancient ruins, to actual words.
Welcome reader, Aether Animus, to hell was what came out of the thick page to be read by his human eyes.
By the time he had made out what the top most words said on the page, the remainder of the ruins had finished forming so that he could read them, and they began to tell a bit about what it was he was about to learn, how it was, that he, a simply student at a simple magic school, had some how, just stumbled upon the darkest secrets of fire, and how it is controlled, he would delight in the knowledge of hell fire, and how to wield its force against even the mightiest of enemies, or friends but never, would this book tell him how much danger there was in simply reading it, it would never tell him that to continue to look into the pages of this hellish book, he would become enslaved by the powers of the fire lord who created it, by the very demon he had met on his first day in the castle. All he need do, was turn a simple page, a simple, warm, smooth page in his hand to begin to learn of the secrets many men and women have died for trying to simply get a peek at.

Aether touched the page as the senseless symbols changed into English words. He had the feeling that if he could only read Spanish the book would have shifted into that as well. He stroked the letters feeling the warmth of the pages in his fingers. His eyes read over his name and the first words the words 'to hell '. His eyes widened as the words changed into those words.
He was aware of the presence of another person being so close to him. He could not bring himself to remove his eyes from those horrifying words. But something else caused his eyes to star their desire that suddenly flooded him to read to find out everything there was to know about this book to suck it in and become one with it.
Something in the back of his mind screamed for him to stop to not read further that it was to dangerous. but shortly after the voice in his mind was washed away int he firestorm. His eyes moved over the page skimming it but not really understanding what it said he turned the page to see if the words there to had changed and they had.
He flipped back to the first page and closed his eyes for a moment his hands clutching the book tightly in his grip. The desire overwhelming as he opened his violet red eyes to gaze down onto the page reading the words slowly trying to understand everything he had undergone in the past few moments from the book hitting him to the pages themselves and the sudden desire and sense of loss that filled him now. His eyes glazing over just slightly.

humans, they never will learn I don’t think Kalista thought to herself as she watched the boy begin to read, as she felt the boy, begin to read and she smiled again.
Kalista could feel him pouring his soul into his studies, as he, like a good little student would do, and he would learn, though the cost was great, he would learn and perhaps, when, by the time he had possessed himself so totally, she would let him go, perhaps not. She would come to that point, when and if it came to it, at the moment, it all depended on him, his will and his desires to learn that which countless souls had learned, and died for.
SHE decided, at that point to slide from the top of the shelves, leaving the shadows of the darkened heights, to join the humans and, like many of them, she now let her finger trace across the spines of many books until one seemed to catch her attention. A tale of two witches was what was written on the spine and she nearly laughed, took the book form its resting place and headed for the table to sit quietly across from Aether and begin to read the little adventure, her leathery wings slipping about her form to take on the look of a cloak, her white eyes slipping to that of the emerald ones the boy had looked into upon his first day here, and slowly, return to her human form, all the while, she watched him, and with each word he read, she felt him grow ever more intrigued by her secrets.

The book seemed to draw from him but his eyes flew across the words. His mind drew in the words and the knowledge. He felt himself being draw into the book but something inside him stood up and closed his eyes. He sighed and rubbed his nose with his thumb and forefinger. "This book is so odd." He said softly trying to get his mind around something aside from the book he could not let himself be drawn in like that.
He saw the girl reading the book and his memory of her filled his head perhaps it was due to the fact she was the owner of the book and sense he had seen her before he was able to think of her clearly thus weakening the pull of the book. "Hi." He said softly the book still lay open in his lap his eyes wanting to be pulled there but the book could not hold sway over it's maker.

His ability to draw himself away from the pages intrigued Kalista all the more. So, there are still a few humans with wills of their own left in the world today she thought as he spoke to her, though she could feel his desire to return his eyes to the words that lay before him in his lap.
“Hello again, Aether.” She said, looking up from her own amusing tale of the two crazy little witches.
Her emerald stare once again, didn’t seem to look at him, but through, or otherwise into him. Her long raven tresses this time were pulled back into a low tail, leaving her face open to see and she now wore a much friendlier smile there, even than their first meeting, perhaps this one was genuine, instead of practiced, either way, suddenly, Kalista would seem to him as indeed, openly friendly.
Indeed, she was pleased with him, very pleased, and she was not discouraged that he was able to pull himself from the lessons in the book, her secrets, no, she knew he would go back to them, in his own time, and that was just as well, she didn’t think she would want this one falling into darkness and destruction so quickly, slow was just as satisfying as fast, perhaps even more so.

Aether smiled at her "Hi Kalista." he said kindly as he remembered her from the Entrance Hall his first day at school. There was a difference in her smile it was subtle but there she was giddy almost but why. Her eyes seemed to be out of focus not looking at him in the normal manner but she was focusing to small as if something on him or inside him.
The tomb in his lab seemed to heat up as if eager of attention. Normal people would have tossed the book aside on feeling the heat of the book but of course that was if they had not begun to read the book.
His eyes waved for a moment glancing at the page then back up again. "Kalista I am surprised to see you around again, is that book any good?" He ask her simply trying to focus on the mundane he had to to keep from becoming ensnared so completely by the book.

Kalista continued to smile, and as he glanced at the page, her eyes glistened with the very flames of her making, only to settle back to the perfect emeralds as his own gaze rose once more to meet with hers.
“Why so surprised to see me, I often spend many an hour simply ready, and wandering the halls here. I used to be a student too you know, but that was a very long time ago. As for the book I am currently passing my time away with, it will do for now.” She answered all his questions with ease, all the while her gazes never leaving him, just as before, steady, unwavering, so inhuman in its strength. “That one in her lap, it seems to be nearly begging your attention, I do apologize if I am interrupting something…it looks important.” She added, as almost an after thought.
Kalista was in the mind to take it from his hands, stop him from reading further, but then, that was the human training in her from so many years ago; she lost that thought near as soon as it came upon her. It didn’t, however matter to her as to rather he decided to continue reading now, or later, she was actually quite impressed he was able to stave off the effects as long as he had already, not many made it so far, without going insane, needing to finish the many pages all in one sitting, perhaps this one just might make it through the entire book before doing as much, if he was able to pace himself, she would wait, study and watch him, feel him as he proceeded, as she knew he eventually would.

"I guess I am not really surprised to see you just i didn't expect to." He said softly smiling to show he hadn't meant to offend her if he had. He was happy to see someone he knew but that didn't mean he expected to see her suddenly looking up from a book. She seemed bored with the book but she was attempting to make it sound interesting at least.
"This book is interesting but odd, it seems to draw my attention and hold it there with force." he explained to her not knowing it was her book but that did make him wonder how her presence had helped him dispel the books spell on him. He looked at her again then to the book briefly he toke the long slender crimson string attached to the book and marked his page before closing the book.
In that instant his mind felt more free but more full as well. Kalista has a small grip but he would need to read a good deal more before she had enough to draw him into insanity and that was only if he read non stop without control. He would not allow that to happen he refused to let himself fall prey to a book. "I think this book is pure magic, inside of it the book speaks of hell and fire, I think I will read the rest slowly, bits at a time."

Kalista watched him, her desires to have his soul would come about slowly and that was all the more sweet. That, and the fact that by the time he had indeed finished with her secrets, he would still be whole, this was just plus and nowhere near a negative. Indeed, he intrigued her quite a bit more now, than ever before. What started out to be a simple trick on one unsuspecting human, had now become more of a mind game between the two of them, though, there was only one player who knew who her opponent was.
“And, so, you will take it back to your room no doubt, what if another picks it up and begins to learn what ever it is that book contains and gains the knowledge before you?” She whispered, her voice coming out in a near hypnotic way, her emerald eyes studying him once again. She just had to know what his answer to this one simple question would be, to know how obsessed he would be with the book in itself. Of course, the book wouldn’t allow another to begin reading it, once he had started it, not unless of course, Kalista desired it to.

"It is not likely the book bares my name Gryffindors will not read it if they think it is personal." He assured her "Thats one thing I know about my house and thats that their honorable." He said patting the book cover "I will read more later, though I have to admit that I would be angry if they did." He suddenly looked at her for a moment.
"Who said there was knowledge in this book how do you know it is not a journal." He ask her though he assumed much "Learned the knowledge before me? Not possible." He said simply "The book is in a weird wording it changes for the reader." He said with a smile "But I bet you knew that Kalista." He stuffed the book into his bag and sat looking at her "Kalista can I ask who you are?"

Kalista listened to his words and let the corners of her lips turn up further in a full smile now. Her emerald eyes glinted slightly as he spoke, he had such faith in his fellow housemates, that was good, though she had detected a bit of that obsession in his later statement of becoming vexed, should anyone try.
“I would assume that there was something to be learned in that volume, as I can’t think of anything recreational to be quite so thick.” She replied to his first question. “Your name on it, you say, interesting…” She let the words trail off and then looked about the library before answering his final question, her emerald gaze coming full turn to gaze on him once more before doing so.
“Oh, I used to be a student here, and still, from time to time, enjoy walking the halls, and visiting places such as the library, as this school seems to have one of th best I have seen in my time.” She answered, truthfully enough, as she had at one time, been a student, and, the library did indeed hold a vast amount of information, should one wish to seek it out.
