Take a deep breath Roan, take a deep breath. You have to do this. The Hufflepuff girl was standing at the entrance of the library, struggling to go in. The scholar of a girl hadn’t entered since the day Fenris attacked her in the narrow confines of the bookshelves. She was too frightened to be caught in such a space again. Now she voice her thoughts aloud. “You aren’t afraid of him anymore, you have faced him 3 times to this day, why should you be afraid of this place anymore. You have to enter, you have to do your work.” With a sigh and a deep breath, Roan put one foot in and took a step, and another, and another, until she was inside the library. Exhaling, she looked around with happiness, glad to be back in her favorite place. But now was not the time to be pouring over books of lore and history, now it was time to do the job she had come to do.
It only took a few moments to find the shelf she wanted, and only a few minutes to grab the books. Each one was full of spells, and most of them useful in combat. And that was exactly what Roan needed them for. She was going to research things the students in school resisting Angelus Morti could use in combat. For combat was coming. The tension in the school could be felt, even when walking through the halls. It grew everyday. More and more encounters with minions were occurring, more and more students being injured. They had a limited amount of time before all hell broke loose. Walking over to a table, the Hufflepuff lit the candles placed there with her wand, and got to work.
Dipping her hand into a bag at her side, the girl drew out a fresh journal and a quill, ready to take notes on anything useful. Opening the first book, she began. Over about an hour she came up with many good spells to use. Such as Protego, Reducio, Relashio, Confundus, Diffindo, Stupefy, Evanesco, Expelliarmus, Ferula, Flagrate, Immobulus, Incendio, Incarcerous, and Aquamenti. All good spells to use, and a few more common sense than others. Some people would know, others people wouldn’t. She copied down each spell and how they were used into the notebook, before turning the page. Then she saw something that made her eyes go wide, and gave Roan an idea. Staring up at her on that page was a spell that could possibly change the course of this battle. In nice swirling print, the spell Obliviate was standing out to the Hufflepuff.
"A memory erasing charm." She muttered to herself, chuckling for a moment. Roan read it again, and again, and again, until she was sure that was what it was. The thought in her mind was making her shake with shock and happiness. "Fenris. If I were to use this on Fenris, or even anyone in Angelus Morti, I could make them forget...forget any duty they have to that fiend. Make them forget about fighting the school. Make them return to regular lives without him. One small charm..." She wanted to cry out with glee that she had found this, because it was perfect. If she could get close enough to Fenris to cast it, and have it pulled off correctly, them everything could change. Dipping her quill in the ink, Roan wrote the spell down on a blank page in the notebook, copying the text word for word on how to use the charm. If I could pull this off...
With shaking hands she closed the book and left it sitting on the table. Then she swung her bag back onto her shoulder. The notebook was out in front of her, and hazel eyes scanned the spell again and again. I have to make a plan, I need to tell Aylen and Sylph and Faerlain, and the rest of them. This war is coming whether we want it or not, and one charm can change the course of the future. In her excitment, Roan began to walk out of the library, notebook in hand, ready to report to a resistance member as soon as she could find one.
