Samantha had more or less been sulking about, not talking to to many people and trying not to draw attention to herself. She would only go out late at night, she would never eat and she didn't ever dare smile anymore. She didn't know what to make of herself.
She walked into the library in a black dress which reached to her knees. Her snow white hair fell in waves down to her waist. There was an eerie silence about the room and the candles and lanterns were on for the night. She roamed around the shelves looking for one she could get lost in, and for a moment forget about everything.
Nothing had turned up after about an hour and her hopes of a better night were flying out the window, she wished someone would show up and make everything better again, but it probably wouldn't happen.
Where has my life gone ? She asked herself.

OOC: Two places at once in the library, go me.
BiC: Shaun Evans leaned on a bookshelf, textbook open in his arms, though he didn't pay attention to what was before him. His eyes were locked on the girl who had just entered the library, looking depressed and not like the other girls and boys who attended the school with big stupid smiles on their faces. Shaun was intrigued, and he followed her, absently setting his book aside, as he watched her roam past the aisles. He paused and shook his head, waiting until she was least aware.
Shaun returned to his book and armchair and continued reading for about an hour, never hearing the sound of her exit and deciding to confront the sad girl. He stood once more and looked around the bookshleves until his eyes locked on the odd white head of hair.
"Up late, I see," he drawled, leaning against the bookshelf she was walking by, and smirking at her, his white teeth glowing in the dim lighting.

OOC: whoo hoo A voice cut through her thoughts, throwing her all off focus. She spun around, and her emerald eyes found the owner of the voice. She was surprised he was up this late, and talking to her even more. She absent mindedly moved some hair from her face as she looked him over, he looked pretty harmless, but you never really knew at this school. After standing there for a moment, she was sure she looked stupid enough just standing there, she blushed a little and finally spoke. "Oh...Hmm, it's late, I didn't notice." She said, her voice was soft, and sweet, but to her it sounded strange in the quiet of the library.

Shaun stood, watching her with interest and an eyebrow raised as she looked at him, motionless. He smirked as she blushed, apparently noticing her lack of words.
"Well, of course not. It's only about-" he paused, glancing toward the grandfather clock behind him before continuing, "10:58 p.m.."

She looked over at the clock and it indeed was as he said. "Oh hum... right." She said sounding rather, uncomfortable. Her eyes went to his and the rested back onto the floor. She felt judged, she didn't really know what she was supposed to say at the moment.
She looked back up at him, trying to figure out just what he was thinking about her, she hoped he was as easy to read as she knew she was. No such luck.
"Are you planning on introduceing yourself?" She asked. She hoped he would realize, even if she didn't show it very much, that she was glad to have his company. She hadn't talked to many poeple and for one night, she was glad that she had someone who had talked to her.

He smirked at her, watching as she glanced at the clock and looked up at him searchingly. At her question he frowned slightly, and nodded, bowing to her before straightening himself and stating his name.
"I am Shaun Evans, of no house at the current moment. Yourself?"

She gave him what was the closest to a smile she could muster. "Samantha, of Ravenclaw. Pleasure to meet you then Shaun." She said. Samantha stood there, looking at him, waiting for some bright idea to pop into her head, either for something to say or perhaps some other way to keep this guys attention. She really didn't know what to say, after so many weeks of being alone, she seemed to have lost her people skills, she was once so bright and happy and the high light of everyone's day, but now that glint in her eye was gone along with her pretty way with words. She realized where they were and wondered how she might have caught his attention. "I do hope I wasn't interrupting any studying. I wouldn't want to be a bother." She said quickly, hoping he wasn't sitting there wishing he could get away from her. She didn't want him to think she was trying to keep him here against his will.

Shaun shrugged, leaning against the bokshelf in a more relaxed position. "I wasn't doing much, so you didn't bother me at all. I noticed you seemed awfully depressed, if it isn't too rude to ask, may I ask why you're feeling this way?"

"We just met, and your wanting to hear why I am unhappy, for some reason, that makes no sense to me." She said, not sounding harsh, just wondering. She didn't quite see why someone would care about why she was unhappy if she didn't know them.

"You are probably the only person in this school, that I have met, who seems to have given up. It curious, awfully curious," Shaun replied, running his hand through his hair and causing the pale bangs to fall into his ebony eyes.

She smirked at him, not really a happy smirk, but a thoughtful one.
"I have given up eh? Interesting way to put it. I haven't really given up, as much as I would like to I still look for things that may cheer me up....but it seems nothing, I look and look for somthing that may make life look a little less dark, but nothing seems to show. I think life has given up on me then the other way around...but I mean no one cares about my problems anyway."
She said it all with out thinking. When she realized she had just blurted out a lot of things no one really wanted to here she put her head down, as to look at her feet. Causeing hair to fall into her face and hopefully cover up her blush.

He watched her, face serious, as she bowed her head. He wasn't used to this, this sulking that she appeared to be doing. He had always made sure that the people around him were happy for his own pleasure. Shaun supposed his sympathy for her was showing that he was pretty much growing up and that he wasn't going to be selfish forever, after all.
He reached out to her for a moment, then quickly brought his hand back, thinking, 'Wait! I'm not going to become a complete pity party for her, I am still me remember!'
He shook his head and spoke in a cool deep voice, "Well, by the way you were wandering around here, looking less than hopeful, that was all I could actually think. But, alas, I don't know what's going through your head. And, despite my lack of caring towards any other human being on this planet, I do care whether you are sad or not. Originally in vain, but now... I don't know."

Samantha looked up into his eyes, now her hurt eyes were more questioning. He seemed shaken by something, she wasn't sure why. But he seemed as though something had gotten him worked up, even if he kept his tone calm.
"It seems I have found another one then? Of the less then careing people of the school?" She asked, her voice wasn't as though she meant it meanly, but a question, as though she wasn't sure.
"I thought you might be different? Correct me please." She said to him lightly. Tryiong to figure out what he wanted here.

"Less than caring? I do care now, for reasons I am still quite unsure of," Shaun retorted, pushing from the shelf he had been leaning on and walking the few steps toward her, looking down his pointed nose at her in question.
He was a bit offended by her words, that he didn't care. A year ago, he wouldn't have given a damn, but now since his interest had been piqued he was more than vainly concerned.

"Sorry then, it wasn't my place to say something like that, forgive me?" She said, asking quietly. "I guess I just thought maybe, for a second, I thought you were just like the rest of them. I thought wrongly then." She said sweetly.
Samantha looked up at him with her emerald eyes. She hoped he wasn't mad. Even though she had just met him she would have been sad, worse then she already was, if he left.
She stood there looking into his eyes, waiting for what would be said next.
