Fae Van Vorst crept silently into the library, sneaking into a section of dusty books that no one seemed interested enough to actually spend more than a minute in. She took a seat in an old armchair, dust springing up and making her cough as the seat creaked in protest.
She blindly reached for a book, finger trailing along the spines until she mentally told herself to stop. She grabbed the random book and pulled it onto her lap, letting it fall open and release even more dust into her open mouth and down her lungs. She coughed even harder.

Shaun shuffled through the books on his table, seeking the one that he believed held the correct information on human transfiguration. His breath caught in his throat as the sound of hacking came from the next aisle. He got up from his chair and silently sneaked over to the shelf that was nearest to the noise. He parted the books carefully and found his gaze falling upon white blonde hair.
Making his mind up, he ignored the dozen books on his table and walked over to the girl, stopping when he was just before her, dark eyes looking down upon the blonde who continued to lean over in her seat.

Fae continued to cough for a few more seconds before sitting back upright and finding herself looking into black. Her gaze lifted and she found that a young man was in those folds of onyx, looking down upon her.
She smiled at him widely, trying to appear pleasant as she introduced herself. "Hello! My name is Fae Van Vorst! And you are?"

He continued to look down upon her mockingly, eyebrow raised, smirk on his face.
"Good day, I am Shaun Evans. Nice to meet you, Fae," he replied, taking her hand and clasping it between both of his, her small hand disappearing between his two large ones.

Fae frowned at his expression, glancing down at his and her hands, before looking back up at him. She was quite tall herself, but she had to look up to see him. She smiled hesitantly and released her hands from his.
"Are you in a house? I'm in Slytherin," she said, voice soft.

"No, I'm not in a house," he replied, then smirked. "Aren't you a bit soft and kind and pleasant to be a Slytherin?"
He placed his hands in his pockets as he awaited her answer, black eyes glowing in amusement.

Fae's eyes narrowed as she said, "No, I don't think I am. Thank you very much."
She sat down in the armchair and turned away from him, arms folded across her chest.

Shaun's smirk grew and he chuckled in amusement, shaking his head.
"Don't get so indignant," he drawled, light brown hair falling in his ebony eyes as he looked down at Fae. He kneeled down in front of her, robes billowing out as he took a seat and falling around his body.

Fae didn't look at him, she grabbed the book she had set aside and began to read, though she couldn't resist glancing at him as he sat in front of her. He was serving as quite a distraction and she was not happy about that.

"What are you reading?" he queried, dark eyes roving over her fair features with amusement and curiosity.
His long fingers tapped the text, which she had been staring at for quite some time, and his smirk grew. He apparently was developing into a distraction for her and he could see her frown getting firmer on her face.
