The library was a very unlikely place to find Ray, especially lately. But there was something she wanted to research, a kind of magic she found very appealing. And that was why she found herself sneaking stealthily through the school, and slipping into the darkened library.
Staring around at the empty room, she walked through the endless aisles of books. The school had the largest supply of books she'd ever come across, most of which were dust covered and smelled like moth balls. Scanning the leather bound pages, she made her way to a shelf in the far corner.
Running a finger over the spines of the books, she searched out one that would suit her purpose. At last she found it, and it surprised her that she hadn't needed to go into the Restricted Section. Grabbing the book of red leather and gold lined pages, she headed to a table she'd noticed in the opposite corner.
Dropping the book on the table, she pulled the wand out of the folds in her cloak and lit the slim candle sitting in the center of the table. Plopping down in a chair, she ran her hand over the book cover which read Telekinesis and Astral Projection for the Ages. Flipping the cover open she pulled her knees to her chest, once comfortable she began skimming the pages idly.

Aridan hadn’t been able to sleep much the pass few nights. He had not seen Rayne much as of late she was always off in the woods or someplace else he didn’t know about. He worried about her all the time and even more then one occasion tried to track her down which proved to be useless. He missed her a lot but he had given up on finding her and figured she would reappear when she felt ready to.
He had read threw the two books he had taken from the library the week before and so just for fun thought it would be good to drop them off before forgetting them again. As he opened the library doors he wondered if the librarian was still in the library or if she was asleep in her own little office as many others were.
The light from the corner caught his eye the instant he lay the two books on the table ‘Transfiguration advanced shape changing’ and “Curses, hexes, and jinxes for the advanced student’. He was sure to be quiet when he headed toward the table. He was unable to see who was in the Library at this late hour or why they had chosen now to read .

Despite his trying to be quiet, her keen senses picked up the sound of light footsteps. Along with his scent. Her lips curved in a smile as she recognized the scent. She hadn't seen him in a while, and that was likely her fault. Most of her time was spent in the forest and he couldn't very well go in there to find her.
Placing the book back on the table she stood silently, lifting her cloak up slightly so the hem wouldn't drag. Sticking to the shadows she creeped around him, taking care not to bump into any shelves. Standing up behind him she leaned up on her toes, one arm snaked around his waist while the other covered his eyes.
"Guess who." she said playfully, lowering her voice so it would come out sounding different from her own.

Aridan smiled briefly before she grabbed him and said “guess who”. He had only just heard her because of the creaky board in the floor. He had not even guessed that she would come around him but he was glad she was not in a mood or anything in fact he was happy that she was in a playful mood.
He asked as if he was surprised so he stood stalk still as he spoke “hmmm Auntie Kate?” he said not able to keep a straight face as he spoke to her. He spun around in her arm and ended face to face with her he smile “Nice to see you love.” his tone showed his happiness as he kisses her softly. He used this moment to pull out of her arms. “awe Rayne I wanted to surprise you.” he said sounding upset with her.
He toke her hand and pulled her to the chair she was in. “So why are you up so late little missy.” he said in a authoritive tone. He was bored and joking around like this was always fun. He looked at the book and wondered what she had it for “Trying to advance your mental powers?” he ask her curiously

Kissing him back she let her arm fall back to her side. Taking on a look of mock-innocence, she batted her lashes and said "I'm sowwy." She bit her lip to keep from grinning, her innocent-little-girl look matching the baby voice she used.
"I couldn't sleep and felt like reading" she answered with a shrug, plopping down in the chair again. She kicked out the chair opposite her, and motioned for him to sit. Raising a brow she said "What about you, why are you up so late? You might get in trouble.."
Pulling the book back towards her, she flipped it open to the page she'd been on. Moving pictures displayed exercises that were supposed to help aid the astral projection journey. Lifting her gaze back to meet his, she smiled and answered "I want to further stretch the limits of my mind's capabilities."

Aridan kissed Rayne again as she used that baby voice “Your to damn cute you know that.” he said with a smile to her. He sat down in the chair across from her putting his foot at the edge of her seat. “can’t sleep huh, well there are old fashion things you can do to get sleepy.” he suggested to her “Warm tea works for me.” he said with a smile
“I know I can get into trouble but I am Quidditch captain so I have the same powers are a prefect or close to.” he told her with a smirk “So I can be here now.” he looked at the book again “Whats it like?”

"Of course I'm too damned cute, I was born for beauty." she replied imitating the conceited 'popular' girls from movies, then mock-gagging she added "Tea.. Yuck. It's too bitter and nasty tasting for my likes."
"Quidditch Captain, eh? Congratulations..." she said with a smile "Is that where you've been, playing on your little broom?"
"It's not easy; I've been practicing for a little over a week now, and my aim is all screw-y. And I still can't astral project yet." she answered, a small frown covering her lips as she added "Watch."
Closing her eyes she took a deep breath, concentrating on a book with lavender binding she'd seen on the shelf. After a few moments she opened her eyes again, fixing her gaze on said book she waved her hand in the air. Almost instantly it went flying, but it was off it's target. Way off; instead of landing on the table it flew straight into Ari, knocking him upside the head.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hit you. Like I said, my aim is screw-y." she muttered, standing and walking to his side of the table. Snatching the book from where it'd fallen on his lap, she tossed it back to the table. Gingerly touching the side of his head, she added "That's going to leave a bump, that is."

Aridan rubbed the side of his head and groaned “Ow that hurt.” he looked at the book “You just couldn’t pick a paper back could you?” he ask a little angry but more in pain. “Yeah a huge bump.” he answered her rubbing his head again but he put on a smile “Remind me not to be in the same room as you when your practicing.” he said with a gentle smile.
He toke the book of Telekinesis off her “Bad girl, hurting me makes you lose this.” he teased her with a head ach and his vision still trying to fully correct itself. He poked her gently in the ribs “Now what have you been up to love other then practicing how to beat me upside the head.”

"But I said I was sowwy, I want my booky-woo (XD)" she said, mock-pout and baby voice back.
Shoving his chair back a few inches she perched herself on the table, swinging her legs lightly. Leaning forward slightly she fingered a strand of his hair, curling the pale lock around her finger as much as possible before releasing it. Shrugging, she said "Nothing much, really."
Her answer was far from the truth, but there was no way she'd admit it. Her eyes were blank, giving nothing away as they shifted from dark purple to a pale- almost white- lilac. The Truth was that she'd been practicing magic. All kinds of magic, but mainly the dark arts. She'd ordered books and a new wand, potion ingredients and other tools. All of which were locked in a trunk hidden beneath her bed.
She was fairly good at the unforgivable curses, and an accomplished occlumens. Her potions were good, but her antidotes still needed more work. She had no idea why she had a sudden obsession with magic, dark magic mainly, all she knew was that she enjoyed learning the spells and curses. Maybe it's the only way to get back at the vampire for what he did to Nessa...
Shaking herself out of her thoughts she fixed her gaze on Ari again, her eyes still blank and asked "So what have you been up to, doll, other than Quidditch?"

Aridan loved the way she baby talked. He loved her greatly but he would not let that get out. He had a bit of practice at Legilimens but he was not the best. He was hoping she would tell him the truth but he was sure she would not her eyes contradicted her words.
He leaned and kissed her softly on the libs gently chewing her bottom lip as he pulled away. "Nothing much studying mostly." he said twirling his hand in his hand "I am sort of bored with this place the DADA is getting dull." he complained a bit "Been hoping to see you, was half tempted to go into the forest."

"Now this is something I can get used to.." she murmured, kissing him back and trailing her tongue over his bottom lip before he pulled away. Though her eyes still remained empty, a glimmer of happiness shone through.
"Don't do that, ever. Never go in the forest unless I'm with you" she said, suddenly serious and stern. A frown tilted her lips down, and her gaze was suddenly worried. He could never go into the forest alone, he could be hurt. Or worse, killed. He was human and his life could be snuffed out as easily as a candle.
"If the DADA is getting boring, you could always forget the defense and learn the actual dark arts" she suggested, faking a smile to try and keep the mood light.

Aridan smiled at his girlfriend as she said she enjoyed his kiss. He smield and played with a strnad of her hair. He kissed her cheek and then sat down in the chair. "Well so could I love." he said with a smirk.
Rayne's sudden sternness actually caught Airdan off gaurd. He looked down and nodded "I know love but I missed you." he said with a little sadness "It is just your never here and I miss you so much." he said sweetly to her.
When Rayne suggested learning the dark arts Aridan gave her a questioning look. "Learn them, Well I guess that could come in handy." he said not sure if she was joking or not "But who could teach me the dark arts properly?"

"I miss you too. I promise to be around more often, just so long as you promise not to go into the forest looking for me.." she replied, a sincere smile lighting up her eyes. Leaning forward again she wrapped him in a tight hug, pulling back she kissed him as she lt go.
"Oh I'm completely serious. The dark arts can be a very entertaining pass-time. If you'd like I could teach you." she said, the smile still in place. She'd gotten the gist of his thoughts, not through telepathy, but because they reflected in his eyes. She was dead serious, because dark magic was a serious matter, and she had to make sure he understood that.

Aridan nodded to her “Alright so long as you promise to be here with me always.” he said taking hold of her hand. “I promise not to go into the forest after you.” he said softly he of course would not go against her trust.
When she suggested she teach him he gave her a confused look. Her stern and serious eyes told him she meant every word of what she had just said “Alright Sure.” he said calmly he had been curious as to the dark arts but he was afraid of what she and his sister would have thought. “Teach me.” his tone was calm and collected his eyes laying firmly on hers as he squeezed her hand.

“Teach me.”
Those two words brought a smile to her lips. But it was different from her usual smile. It was determined and cold, and her eyes were hard as steel. Her very demeanor changed, from casual and familiar to powerful and aloof. Her eyes shifted, two pools of icy magenta. Her response came out in a voice different from her own. Her usual soft and gentle tones gone, replaced by a sultry voice that carried an edge "As you say."
Pulling her hand out from under his she spun her wand over her fingers, thinking of what to teach him first. Common sense said to start with the unforgivable curses. The Cruciatus Curse was as good a start as any in her opinion. But what- or who to use as an example..? she thought, the smile widening revealing teeth that were sharp and wolfish.
But she had to want to cause pain, and she didn't really want to hurt Aridan. Just teach him. The memory of the man Sealla had said was their father danced through the edges of her mind. And that was it. All she had to do was think of him, of how he sold her as a child, and hatred engulfed her. It filled her to boiling point, wrapping her in it's furious embrace.
Aridan's face was gone, replaced by that man. Her father. His arrogant and selfish voice, his physically abusive manner, his greedy intentions. His black heart. Flicking the wand until it pointed straight at Aridan, who in her mind's eye was still her father, she said "Lesson one. Unforgivable curses. Crucio!" The last part was chanted, her wand held tightly, still pointing at Aridan's now-writhing body.
