Rose opened the door hesitantly to the large chamber she and Claire shared, and her large swirling eyes peered around the edge, sweeping the room.
Seeing that Claire wasn't in there, she entered the room and started humming to herself - something she had been doing a lot of lately. She opened the gauzy purple netting that hung in front of the stone arched window, letting the sunlight pour into the room before doing a twirl back to the centre of the room, a smile wreathed on her face.
Summertime always brought about this sudden change in Rose's disposition - usually insightful, thoughtful and overtly philosophical, she would keep to darkened rooms with candles, and avoid company of anyone but Claire. But the moment that the sun came out from behind the clouds, Rose's personality would change almost instantly. This cheerful and optimistic Rose was definitely more preferrable to the other, but it was probably more applicable for a Headmistress to be more reserved.
Taking off her heavy purple robes, Rose stood in front of her marbled armoire, debating what nice new summery robes she would wear for the first real summer day.

Claire walked up the stairs to the tower, she was tired from a trip to Hogsmeade to get a few supplies. Her feet dragged as she reached the door. Hearing a noise behind ut, she knew Rose must be in there.
Pushing the door slowly open, hoping it wouldn't creak, Claire stepped in and drew close to Rose, who was standing looking into her open closet.
Closer, and closer still, Claire drew up to Rose. Slowly, trying not to breathe too loudly, she quickly wrapped her arms around Rose's waist and pulled her back a little, so that they were pressed together.
Claire's head went to Rose's neck and she nuzzled. The smell of Rose's hair and the scent of her skin, breathed life back into Claire and she swayed with Rose, taking in her scent, her skin, everything about her.

Goosebumps spread quickly over Rose's skin as Claire's arms sneaked their way around her slender waist. Smiling, she leaned her head backwards on Claire's shoulder, feeling content to be in her partner's arms.
"Mmmm..." she sighed, before carefully taking Claire's arms from around her and turning, to look Claire in the eyes. Rose's rainbow ones were sparkling playfully, reflected in Claire's loving gaze. "And what do you think you're doing, young lady?" teased Rose with a smile before flipping her curls at Claire as she went to examine her wardrobe once more - what should she go for, the deep pink silk or the purple floatiness?

Claire smiled as Rose stood in front of the wardrobe contemplating her options. "I like the purple one!" Claire said. She had known what Roses' options were as she knew what sort of day it was and what Rose would have opted for on a day like today.
"It'll match the blue dress that I'm going to change into," Claire added. It was such a nice day and though she was very weary from being up early and her trip to town, she thought that Rose deserved a nice relaxing day. They both did.
"Fancy a day out?" Claire asked cheerily. "Once you've dressed, of course!"

Rose turned around to Claire, hands clasped together and eyes wide in the very picture of childish delight.
"A - a day out? You mean it?" she smiled, all the colours in her eyes seeming to shine more vividly, dancing in merriment as she rushed back to Claire and threw her arms around Claire's neck jubilantly. "Oh, wow! Where were you thinking of?" she asked inquisitively.

"Oh, I don't know...." Claire said teasingly, "maybe we could go down to the lake and get on a boat, sail around a little and soak up some sun."
Claire turned around and glided over to the bed. She picked up the dress she was going to change into. "That could be either before or after a small picnic under the shade of a large tree, with the leaves growing green above us, shielding the harsh sun from your light, soft skin..." Claire swept back over to Rose and held her in a way as if she was going to dance with her.
Clicking her fingers behind Rose's back, music surrounded them, as Claire led their way around the room, dancing around the room, in and out of the shadows.
"Sound OK?"

Rose gazed up at Claire, her eyes full of warmth for her amazing partner. "It sounds absolutely perfect," whispered Rose with a tiny smile, as she twirled round and around the room, in and out of the sunlight that streamed in through the Towers' tall windows.
Rose finally pushed herself away from Claire, and, doing a final twirl until she reached the middle of the room, face flushed, she smiled. "Right. Let's get ready to go!"

Claire smiled at Rose's twirl and then went back to the bed, where her blue dress was. She undid her gown and let it slip to the floor. She stepped into the light blue velvet fabric and did up the zip.
Moving to the dresser mirror, Claire let her hair down, brushed it until it shone. Then, bringing out her wand she flicked it at her hair. Her golden locks started curling up and, in a moment, she had created a neat style, that kept all of her hair out of her way. (Except of course a small section on either side that framed her face. Rose liked that!)
Swivelling around on the stool, Claire looked to Rose.

Pretending to have continued deliberating over her robes, Rose watched Claire out of the corner of her eye, feeling warm tingles of love when Claire finally turned around, her hair done up just the way Rose loved it.
"You didn't have to do that for me, my love," Rose smiled. "You can wear your hair any which way you like. You could have in a mohawk and I think I'd still adore you."
Winking, she turned back to her armoire and, with a flourish, took the purple floaty robes from where they had been hanging. She slipped the clouds of viole and gauze over her head, and zipped up the back of her dress in one smooth move. The dress accentuated her curves perfectly, and whenever she walked, the skirt of her dress flew as if caught in the breeze of a light wind.
Rose giggled - a very rare thing indeed - and took her wand from the polished bedside table. Giving it a flick, a picnic basket appeared on the four-poster she shared with Claire. It was going to be a wonderful day.

"Picnic first then?" Claire asked. "So is it to be the lake or elsewhere?" she continued as she walked over to the basket and had a peek inside.
Raising her eyebrows and pulling an agreeable face she moved a few items around so that she could see most of the yummy items.

"Oh, my love - whichever tickles your fancy. I'm just so happy to finally be able to spend a whole day with you... and in the sunshine too!" Rose grinned, and began dancing around the room again, humming to herself in a dreamy fashion until she came up behind Claire and wrapped her arms around the girls' waist.
"What do you wish, then, hon?"

Claire smiled as Rose wrapped herself around her and kissed her hair.
"Let's go to the lake, yeah?" Claire suggested. "Though there may be alot of students down there... Hopefully we won't get bothered too much!" Claire laughed as she spun out of Rose's arms.
She stopped by the door and pulled it open. "After you, my lady," Claire said as she toopk her leg back and gave a small bow.

"Thank you, kind... lady," laughed Rose, and she swept down the warm stone staircase with a sunny feeling in her heart and a lightness in her step...

Claire watched Rose move down the staircase. Turning back to the room, she flicked her wand and the picnic basket floated up off of the bed and began to move towards her.
Motioning her hand out of the door, the picnic basket slid out of it, followed by Claire, closing the door swiftly behind her.
At the bottom of the stairs, Claire found Rose waiting expectantly. Stepping over ot her, Claire held out her arm for Rose to take.

Rose took her arm, beaming at Claire.
"Why, thankyou kindly, madame," she said happily, and let Claire lead the way to the clear waters of the Lake.
