The redhead bit back a yawn. “Summoning is easy,” he muttered. He waved his wand lethargically. “Accio Quaffle.” One of the Quaffles made a half-hearted attempt to crawl out of the wheelbarrow and ended up rolling halfway to the boy’s feet.
He frowned. Less sleep had a much bigger effect on him than when he first thought. “Accio!” he said with much more energy. The ball promptly shot up, rapping the Gryffindor’s forehead smartly and landed neatly into his hand. “Ow...” was all he said.

She laughed at Aylen, but stoped. She needed practice as well, after all. "Accio Quaffle." She said clearly. For once a spell she tried almost worked the first time. She ball flew at her face at the speed that it usually would during a rough game. She squeeked in surprise, but caught the ball expertly, a look of shock on her face.

The summoning charm, Tori thought. She had done this quite a few times before but only managed on the first try once. "Accio." she said pointing her wand at one of the closer quaffles. It zoomed right past Ashlle's head and Tori caught it with good reflexes. She sat down the ball and started shaking her hands from the pain the force brought. "Got a work on that." she noted for her self.

Rezna decided to let her classmates answer the teacher's question, for she did not feel very talkative that morning. However, she did let out a suppressed laugh as she watched Aylen getting smacked on the head with a quaffle.
Not feeling like doing homework, she picked up her wand and settled her eyes on one of the remaining quaffles on the Professor's desk.
"Accio Quaffle," Rezna stated clearly but softly aiming her spell in the general direction of the intended object. Noting that the others had a hard time catching the flying object, she almost threw the wand out of her hand as the Quidditch ball flew towards her. It was by pure luck that it did not hit the heads of the two girls sitting in front of her. Setting it down on her desk, she looked up to see what they were to do next.

Persephone looked at the quaffles. She really was excited to see them instead of any other thing that could have been put in their place. She shouldn't have any problems with this spell, even if she was half awake...or less.
She looked at them, and perked up a bit more. She coulddo this.
"Accio Quaffle."
Luckily the ball came towards her and at a speed that she could catch...and not hurt afterward.

Ashlle read the chapter in her book thoroughly. This didn't sound so hard. ~"Accio Quaffle"~ Nothing happened to the quaffle she'd aimed at. Ashlee wondered if perhaps she hadn't pronounced it right and reread the pronunciation. She re read it silently till she was sure she had it. ~"Accio Quaffle"~ Her chosen Quaffle dropped onto the floor and rolled in her direction. Ashlle how ever didn't let it get half way across the floor. ~"Accio Quaffle!"~ She said purposefully. The Quaffle jumped from the middle of the floor into her hands. That was more like it. Satisfied with her progress, she threw the Quaffle back into the wheeled basket beside the teachers desk and got out her parchment, ink and quill to work on the assigned Homework.

The redhead tossed it sulkily back into the wheelbarrow. He had used this spell many times before. Then again, he was usually wide awake. “At least I’m awake now,” he muttered grumpily to himself. He dug through his book bag half-heartedly for parchment and a quill and placed them upon his desk. Aylen read the board, thoughtfully sucking on the end of the quill. “Hmm, I’ve been looking for my sugar quill,” he mumbled around the sugar feather and began writing. Accio is a good charm for summoning things. It should be used when you want something to come to you. But if you want something to move somewhere else from where you are standing, it’s better to use a mobilarus charm. At this point, the Gryffindor had run out of ideas and flipped through his textbook, hoping to gain another example. And if you don’t know where it is exactly, or if it is very far away, you probably should conjure it to where you are instead. Muggles don’t appreciate seeing random things flying through the air, I’ve heard.Er- I take it that your late night quidditch game took more out of you than meets the eye. If you wish i might have a chat with your Quidditch captain so such an instance doesn't happen again. Charm = 7 points Essay = 10 points He looked at it critically. The entire thing barely took up and inch of paper. He shrugged and turned it in, and was soon happily snoring with his head down at his desk.

She tossed her ball with the others with ease, then turned to her assignment. She wished that everthing was as easy as the charm was. She was never very good at writing. Xarian Heart Ravenclaw Charms
The accio charm is highly useful in many situations. Summoning things to you makes things fast and simple, though at times the charm is not in the best intrest ofthe witch or warlock.
When the caster wants to move something a mobilarus charm is the best choice, instead of calling it to you. The same charm is the best option as well if the area around you is crowded.Your Summon was very powerful, and would be very helpful if you were further away form your desired object. you have much untaped potential Charm = 10 Essay = 10

Persephone tossed the quaffle back to the others. She sighed deeply and pulled out a quill and parchment. Hopefully, this wouldn't take to long to do, and she doubted it would. She started to write, her small script flowing and fancy. She wrote: Persephone DeVone Ravenclaw The accio charm is a highly practical and useful charm if you are in need of an object fast. It can be used to find something , as long as you are in the room that you believe the supposed object to be in. THere are times though when the accio charm is best avoided. It should not be used to move an object; a mobilarus charm is better suited for such work for that. It is also best to use a mobilarus when you want to control the object that is coming toward you more. Very nice! I like your Charm work Miss DeVone, It shows skill in that you didn't cause the quaffle to come to you too fast or too slow. I also enjoy seeing the extra effort you put into your essay by giving me one extra example. Charm = 10 points Essay = 10 points Extra Credit = 2 points (two for every extra example) She looked her writing over and decided that, though it wasn't her best essay, it would have to do today. She walked up and turned her paper in. She sat down and started to doodle a little on a piece of parchment.

Seeing that everyone else had started on their homework, Rezna did so as well. Getting up from her seat, she returned the quaffle that she summoned to the basket. Sitting back down, she read their assignment and their assigned pages before answering.Rezna Lardale Charms 1. It is a good idea to use the Accio summoning charm, if you need a lost, misplaced, or forgotten item to come to you. If there is a great distance between the object and the summoner it is especially useful. Should an object be lost, the summoning charm is especially useful for it brings the object through any barrier that may exist, magical or otherwise, to the summoner.
2. Other charms may be more appropriate to use if the summoner does not know the general direction of the object he or she is trying to find. Also, if there is a great distance between the caster of the summing spell and he object, the object may not come to the caster. Ah! another lovely essay! I'm so glad you chose to include those extra examples. Try to be a bit more careful when summoning, though. A good summon will never cause you to loose your grip on your wand. Charm = 10 points Essay = 10 points Extra Credit = 6 points (two for every extra example)

Post by Teagan on Sept 26, 2005 1:59:06 GMT
Teagan stepped out of the ravenclaw common room, and calmly walked to the charm's classroom door before patiently stopping to read the new sign on its front.Charms class has now moved to the Room beside the Orange accented suit of Bartemius Wolfton. Please proceed there at once.
The ravenclaw prefect slightly tilted her head, and her long, scarlet hair flowed a few inches to her right side. No more "Candy land"? Oh, well. Teagan turned, and continued onward through the corridor. Many of the students that passed were yawning and wishing that class could begin a little later that day. Teagan was awake, and didn't mind at all. After waking, one's mind was clearer and not tangled with thoughts of classes, homework, and what you learned that day.
Eventually, she stepped past the suit, and quietly walked inside the new charms room. A few students had taken to snoozing on the desks, many were tired, and only one seemed to be awake. And to think there's not even a lot of students here, yet.... Carefully, Teagan maneuvered herself through the rows of desks, and sat down. She effortlessly read the words on the chalkboard.Today’s charm is: Accio – the Summoning Spell
Homework: Practice! This can be a very hard spell to master. Also a paper on what and when is an appropriate situation to Summon and when another spell would be a better substitute. Please include at least two examples; more will earn you extra credit. Today, they were to learn Accio, the Summoning Charm. This was one Teagan was already skilled with, but she didn't choose the lessons. After class started, their teacher tried to cheer them up, and even offered to let them come back later and preform the spell.
Aylen was one of the first to try, and one of the now revealed quaffles quickly smacked him in the head. After that, it seemed he became more awake. Teagan deftly raised one of her eyebrows at this show, but there was no point in wasting time. She decided to start working with the writing portion of their assignment. She could always preform the spell afterwords.Charms: the Summoning Charm Teagan Monolayre Ravenclaw
An appropriate situation to use the Summoning Charm would be when you need an item that's locked away that someone else has taken, you accidentally forgot something, or you've misplaced an item and are having trouble finding it. This spell may also be used if you need something that this charm can be safely used on, and you're too lazy to physically go and retrieve it.
Another spell would be good to substitute the Summoning Charm if the item you wish to gather is more that simple one object such as if you wished to take a book off of the shelves in a library. If you were to say, "Accio Book," several novels would come your way. If you were dealing with antiquities, Wingardium Leviosa would be more suitable so you weren't to damage them. If you wanted to sneak something out of a room without disrupting people, the Summoning Charm would most likely be too hasty and rash for you desires. If the object you were summoning was in another room and was partially glass or able of breaking, you would also want to be more delicate in your work. If you also simply wanted to move an object and not make it fly toward yourself, another charm should be chosen. Wow! That was Ten examples in all! I'm very impressed. I am also impressed with the way you handle your summoning charm. That was superbly controlled. Charm = 10 points Essay = 10 points Extra Credit = 16 points (two for every extra example) If this keeps up you'll win the House Cup all by yourself! Teagan silently finished scrawling on the parchment with her miniature letters. She quietly set down her quill, and thought about the fact that she might as well use the Summoning Charm, now. Faintly, she brushed some unconfined locks of hair back over her shoulder, and pulled out her wand.
The ravenclaw flicked her wand, and quietly muttered, "Accio quaffle." She controlled the flow of magic into her wand, so that not all of the balls would come at her at once. One of the red orbs flew toward her in the most direct path, and the slender fingers of Teagan's left hand daintily grasped it before it had a chance to reach her palm.
Inwardly, she sighed and preformed yet another charm. "Wingardium Leviosa," she softly whispered and levitated the ball over the students' heads and set it back down in the basket of similar items.
So far, less than half of class had passed, and Teagan had already began to get bored. Her red eyes flicked around the room once more, and they turned the pages of her unopened book. She silently moved her fingers over to it and turned the pages to their lessons. She read through the charms they had learned this year before moving on to lessons they would be taking later... Next week, perhaps?

Tori stood up to put the quaffle back. After she did she dug for a few moments looking for a quill and parchment. Once she found one she wrote. Victoria Wilcox Gryfinndore.
'Accio' is a great spell to know because its fast. It can save you from so many situations. But if you use it in the wrong pronunciation or call the wrong object it will lead to some unfortunate events.
The Summoning charm can be very useful in so many ways. You could say it with a commanding tone and the object will come faster. If you get lazy it will only come into the air and drop.If you were in the classroom and you forgot a book you could bring it with the flick of a wand. As long as your teacher doesn't know you forgot it. If you were in the middle of a forest you should think of the place where a map is so it will lead you out. If you were going to a wedding and you forgot your gift, this would also be a useful time to know The Summoning Charm. Nice work Miss Wilcox! It is true that without enough concentration your desired object will not come to you, though if one is too stern in the command they will find the summoned object come at them a bit too fast . . . as you did. Charm = 10 points Essay = 10 points Extra Credit = 2 points (two for every extra example)
Tori finsished her paper and looked around at all the finished and unfinished students.

Fae knocked shyly at the new Charms classroom's door. She was very late and she knew it, but, being new, she had a lot of trouble finding the old classroom and even lots more finding the new one. Luck with that polite portrait that told her where to find it, or she wouldn't have made it to class at all. She entered the class, and looked around. It was a very pleasantly decorated classroom, and Fae found herself smiling at the Professor's taste. She sat down near Sephe, for she was the only one she knew. She said a shaky 'hi', then looked at the blackboard to see today's assignment. She sighed. The Accio Charm. It wasn't that difficult. She looked at the Quaffles, and got her wand out. Unicorn Blood, Oak, 22'8 inches. Swishy and powerful, when used with skill. Excellent for Transfiguration. She smiled. 'Now let's try and move those Quaffles... She took a deep breath, then closed her eyes. She opened them, then fixed them upon the red Quaffles. She closed them again, then said clearly, "Accio Quaffle!" All of a sudden, all the Quaffles in the basket flew upon her lithe form! She screeched, and raised her hands to protect herself, but it was kind of useless, for they all came at the same time.

"Interesting, Aylen...very interesting," Hayzie giggled, watching his attempts at bringing the quaffle to him. All nighters never were good, and the Prefect hadn't missed the male twin stumbling in to the common room earlier, either. The blonde girl wasn't sure if she was more amused at the fact that he had been out all night, that the Professor still hadn't undone the charm on her classroom, or imagining Laura's face when she was told about Aylen. She'd be overjoyed. Raising her hand, Hayz said: "Excuse me, Professor. As his Assistant Captain, I'll pass the message on to Laura. I'm sure she'll sort it out so it doesn't happen again." Grinning, she set to work on a charm she had mastered long ago. Flicking her wand expertly and saying aloud: "Accio Quaffle!", one of the balls that another student had conjoured towards her flew over and Hayz caught it one handedly. "And that's how it's done," she smiled to herself, picking out a sugar quill and sucking on the end while she tried to decide how to word her essay. Hayzie Roberts Gryffindor
The Summoning Charm is possibly one of the most important in the wizarding world, and one which witches and wizards are taught at a young age. By casting the spell Accio and then adding the item you wish to summon on the end, it works!
It is useful when an item is too high or too low to reach, if you're not feeling well but want a book to study from (of course!) or even if you wish to get something done quicker, you can save heaps of time by using the summoning spell. Lovely Miss Roberts! You obviously have much skill at this. Maybe you'd like to help me try and undo my Candied Room later today? I'm afraid so far all I've been able to do is melt it a little. Charm = 10 points, Essay = 10, points, Extra Credit = 2

"Ow..." Fae emerged from the pile of Quaffles, soft hair ruffled and brows furrowed in a frown. She never did anything right! Sighing, she Wingardium Leviosaed the balls back into the basket and tried again. Closed eyes, opened eyes. Looks at object, close eyes. Deep Breath. Say it! " Accio Quaffle!" Fae shouted, and to her amazement, the maroonish Quaffle soared toward her, hitting her outstretched hand a tad harder than she thought it would. Ah, well... Can't get everything right all the time. After putting the Quaffle back into the basket, Fae pulled out of her bag a piece of parchment and one of her black and white feather quills, and started writing the essay that was due. Amaya Oros Slytherin
The Summoning Charm is used by wizards to draw a certain object in their direction and/or their reach. The object Summoned will come flying toward the wizard, regardless the barriers or obstacles that will meet. That, of course, depends of the force with which the wizard Summons the object and the concentration of said wizard. The word you pronounce (or think about, in case of unspoken and more advanced magic), is Accio, the Latin of 'Summon'. The correct pronunciation of the Latin word would be 'AK-see-oh', but it's safer to pronounce it 'AS-ee-oh'. Also, you may add to the Accio word the name of the object you want to Summon, for example "Accio Quill!". In this case, the quill Summoned will came soaring trough the sky toward the caster. Also, if you concentrate on said quill and say 'Accio" without adding 'quill' you will probably have the same result. But that takes practice and a lot of concentration. The Summoning Charm can be very useful to retrieve lost objects, and such, but it can also be used in life threatening situations. For example, you can Accio your books before each class instead of carrying them around all the time, or you could Summon parchment and a quill when you go to the Owlry to check on your owl and suddenly want to write a letter, and so on. But be careful, concentrate on only one object at the time, for you could end up buried in a mountain of sugar quills or be hit by the brooms of all the Quidditch players in the school! Very good Miss Oros! You see, the more you work ay a charm the easier it becomes! Nicely done. Charm = 10 points, Essay = 10, points, Extra Credit = 6 points (two for every extra example) Putting the essay down, she brandished her wand one more time, and tried again. " Accio Quaffle!" The Quaffle flew toward her one more time, this time landing in her hand without practically breaking it. Fae smiled, satisfied with herself.
