The morning was not going well in any way, shape or form. The night before was similar. Lottie hadn't slept well due to coughing all night long, and attempting unsuccessfully to get rid of a sore throat by drinking endless glasses of water. The next morning, it still hadn't gone.
However, her voice had.
Waking Faye up hadn't happened, and the brunette Hufflepuff hadn't got the energy to climb the stairs to the Hospital Wing. She blamed the First Years.. bringing their colds into the castle. How was it her fault if they weren't used to the cold.
Grumbling silently to herself, Lott sat down at the Hufflepuff table grumpily and poured out some orange juice, which promptly burnt her throat, and buttered some toast, which she realised quickly she didn't want at all.
Succumbing to water, Lottie sat silently, listening to the conversation about a party in Gryffindor the night before, and about the front page news that day.
Every time she tried to join in a conversation, nothing but a slight breath of air was put forward.
Boy was she in for a long day.

Bryan had been looking absentmindedly around the hall, thinking about the irony in the first spell he had truly perfected from the beat up book he carried with him. So many times had his own spells backfired on him that he had learned to cast iyashi no kaze perfectly before anything else. He had had to use it at least twenty times, and that was just AFTER he had perfected it. He quickly took notice of a an older girl who seemed to be shy at first glance, but thought twice as she traded a perfectly full glass of orange juice for water after just one sip. He got up from the Gryffindor table, and walked over to her. Tapping her on the shoulder, he said, "Hello..."
