Konoka stepped in the grate hall to enjoy her first meal, although she was alone she ate her food in big gulps. She had no intention of getting interrupted by anyone. She was happy to not miss her first meal by being late. "Ah now thats food" she said with a big smile and she pulled out Magic Knight Rayearth to read, then she took a look around and continued to read.

Krista settled herself at the Slytherin table, and was about to pull a plate towards her when she noticed a lonely Gryffindor at thier table, with no one to eat with. 'Ugh, why am I doing this?' she asked herself as she got up and wandered across the hall.
She sat down next to the girl, who was deeply imersed in some book. She didn't seem to look up at first.
"Do you need someone to sit with? You're all alone," Krista asked. Some of the Slytherins were giving her odd looks. But, hey, maybe they could get house points for her act of kindness.

Qarrien wondered around looking for a place to sit. She was famished and wanted something to eat quickly. She noticed that there was a space at the Slytherine table next to a girl who was reading a book and another girl who was trying to talk to that girl reading the book. Qarrien headed over. "Is this spot taken?" She asked politely. Though she didn’t mind really, she could always find another place. But it would save her looking.
Her dark brown/black eyes twinkled and her hair colour for the day was black with green and red streaks going through loops of what was normally straightened but today she had loose curls here and there. Her hair sat just below her shoulders. Qarrien tended to wear a lot of dark eye makeup; though that was the only makeup she wore. She had on her school uniform.
Qarrien didn’t wait long for a reply. After a second Qarrien sat down and pulled some food close and dug in.

"You can sit, whatever, I don't care," Krista replied to the girl. She took a closer look at the girl, who reminded her of her friend Cristina, with all the eye make-up and choice of hair style. She sighed.
"My name's Krista, by the way." She smirked at the girl's uniform, which showed she was in Hufflepuff. "I don't usually sit with mudbloods."
she realized that was a bit harsh. "Muggle-borns, I mean." The girl seemed cool anyways.

Qarrien just stared at Krista. Knowing the girl hadn't really meant to be so harsh but still she knew it as in the Slytherin's nature. "It's ok. I'm not even sure really if I'm a muggle-born. I lived in an orphanage most my life and never knew them so for all I know I could be." Qarrien stated.
She looked the girl up and down taking in her features. The blond hair said it all. She had noticed the way the girl had smirked at her when she had found what house she was in. “You know it’s not best to judge a book by its cover. I know that sounds lame but it’s true. To tell you the truth I thought I was probably going to be in Slytherin but I guessed wrong.” Qarrien told her. “Why don’t you like Muggle-born anyway? It’s always made me curious as to what makes them different.”

Krista thought about that for awhile. She had never really known why she had been harsh to muggle-borns, in particular.
"I'm a pureblood," Krista said after awhile. "My family brought me up like this. I guess its like...This is how I knew to live. Muggle-borns are below you. I'm not saying its right, becasue it most certainly isn't, but I don't know..." she trailed off.
"Sorry about before, anyways. Usually I don't slip, especially in front of people. And true, I didn't know whether or not you were muggle-born or not. You could be purebloo,d for all we know. It's just a discrimination for me to think Hufflepuffs are all muggle-borns."

Qarrien pondered as she chewed on a peace of bacon. “That makes sense really. It’s like if you’re brought up rich, you tend to believe the poor are under you, when really there is nothing wrong with them. Humans tend to not like things that are different. They want every one to be the same or they want to think that, like you that they are below you.” Qarrien said as she stared out to space.
At times when she had wondered away from the orphanage she had gone and sat at parks and if other children had seen her they had laughed at her for having no parents. She had sort of wished once that they could go through what she went through so they could know. But she had dismissed that strait away because she should never wish that upon anyone. Most the time she ended up just leaving the orphanage at night when there were less people coming around.
“I didn’t even realize that people thought all hufflepuff’s were from none magick backgrounds. That’s a new one for me. Interesting because most the hufflepuff’s I know come from a magick background. Not that it matters though. I knew though that all Slytherin’s are from all magick backgrounds. That’s what they pride themselves in isn’t it?” Qarrien said.

"Well, yes. Because to be in slytherin you must be at least half-blood, but most of us are pure-bloods anyways," Krista explained.
"And I agree with what you're saying, although my family is rich, well, we're 'better-off' as my dad says, but we give money to the poor. We don't hold it over thier heads or anything."
