There are children standing here, Arms outstretched into the sky, Tears drying on their face. He has been here. Or rather he was coming. Hayzie knew it. The darkness that had settled over the school for so long was going to break… to either bring back the light and good to Magic Horizons… or to make way for more darkness. Hayzie had promised to try and help the younger students, the ones who couldn’t fight against Danawi and his army, or the ones who were physically unable to. Brothers lie in shallow graves. Fathers lost without a trace. A nation blind to their disgrace, Since he's been here. How she hoped none of her friends would get hurt in this battle, the long prophesied battle between good and evil, the battle which could possibly mean the end for all good kind, or… no. It wouldn’t end up like that. There was no way. During the previous weeks, Hayz had sent round messages urging the younger students to watch the portraits, waiting for the message which the people in the portrait would hold up. A picture of a simply black cross. The single letter indicating they should make their way down to the Great Hall, the single mark to say that they were under attack, or very soon would be. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. The sadness was well and truly there behind green eyes. All traces of bravery that Gryffindors should have according to the house descriptions had seemingly vanished into thin air. Yet behind that sadness which was somewhat overpowering was a kind of hope. A hope that if everything did go wrong, then maybe there was something that Hayzie and the younger students could do. Maybe they could out number them, maybe they wouldn’t be needed at all. Maybe the forest group and the Entrance Hall defence would be able to hold them off… and if not… Houses burnt beyond repair. The smell of death is in the air. A woman weeping in despair says, He has been here. If not, then the blonde didn’t think that Danawi’s group would stop at the Entrance Hall. They would destroy all the common rooms if need be to find what they were looking for. The houses could be set on fire like the Gryffindor common room had with thanks to Jade Starr. During that siege, Hayzie and Adhara had gone to see if the Ravenclaws were alright… luckily they had a way out of their common room… this time they might not be so lucky. Echoes of the younger student’s cries went through her mind as she reached the Great Hall and pushed open the doors, wheeling herself inside. The portraits had been given their orders and each was holding up their own black cross. Now all she could do was wait… Tracer lighting up the sky. It's another families‚ turn to die. A child afraid to even cry out says, He has been here. Hayzie in all honesty was dreading the looks of fear which would likely be on the faces of some of the younger students as they arrived into the Great Hall and it would hurt her to see them. Their eyes wide with the emotion of not knowing what the night would hold, when they would get out… if Magic Horizons would ever be the same again…. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. Thinking this made the bravery sink even deeper, desperation beginning to take over. She had to help the younger students of the school, especially the first to third years. Fourth and above knew of many defensive spells which could hopefully help in the overall battle. Hayzie had given directions to one of the older Gryffindors about what to do if worst came to worse. Hopefully Addie would help with the invisibility charm to get them all on the Knight Bus again if anything did happen which meant they were trapped and in full sight. There are children standing here, Arms outstretched into the sky, But no one asks the question why, He has been here. They were only children, all of them. Many of the students were underage, weren’t supposed to do magic outside of lessons, and yet here they all were, their wands the only hope towards survival, and their minds the key. If only they didn’t lose it… if they did then… well… they were all doomed. Old men kneel and accept their fate. Wives and daughters cut and raped. A generation drenched in hate. Yes, he has been here. Hayzie shivered as she put the breaks on her wheelchair, glancing around the room where she had eaten and laughed, hid from Professors and argued with other friends. Maybe in a few hours time it wouldn’t be there at all. Who knew? Danawi may have different ideas to the group who had named themselves the Cabal Resistance. All they could do was hope, and fight if need be. And I see no bravery, No bravery in your eyes anymore. Only sadness. If only that bravery would return… It had to... Danawi was coming.

The hour grew late as Forgoil left the Hufflepuff common room and made for the Entrance Hall. His all black attire; save the badge that bore his house crest, blended in with the darkening hallways. He cradled his fencing mask in his hands; his sword and wand were in his scabbard.
He took a route the lead him past the Great Hall. As the boy passed by the great doors; a small beamed of light shined through the opening. He stopped and lingered at the doors because he heard muted sobs and whimpers.
Opening the doors, the light reflected off of Forgoil's grey hair and his eyes were temporarily blinded. However, as his eyes adjusted to the change in light; Forgoil's green-grey eyes was widened in shock and surprise. The Great Hall was filled with children; some crying to themselves or calling out to those who may never be able to reply again.
In the middle of the children was a girl who was seated. Only when he was closer did Forgoil realize that she was handicapped in a wheel chair. The girl was older than he was and seemed in charge of the younger children. Quietly, Forgoil stood behind the girl and could only gaze at all the other children. Who knew what friends and family they would lose; and how sad this day would be if from one fatal host, all these children become ghosts.
Pushing those thoughts from his mind, Forgoil asked the girl in a wheelchair in a whisper, "Are all these children in your charge?"

"It'll be fine, you'll see," Hayzie had been whispering to a first year Ravenclaw girl who was ashen faced and had been in tears since arriving in the Great Hall five minutes before. The blonde Prefect had sat her down quickly and tried to comfort her, to tell her that everything would be fine. "Trust me. You're going to be safe here... and your family will be waiting for you at home in the holidays. Are you going away anywhere nice?"
However before her words could be answered, a question was directed at herself from a calm voice, one that sounded more sincere than her own attempts at remaining calm. "Are all these children in your charge?" he had asked from behind. To begin with, Hayz had panicked and reached for her wand whilst looking round, only to see the Hufflepuff badge on his robes.
"Tell you what," Hayz whispered to the little girl again, gesturing to the Hufflepuff that she would only be a second. Conjouring up a glass of water, she handed it to the girl. "You just sit there and drink this slowly, okay? I'll be back in a few minutes. I just need to go and talk to someone."
As she took the glass, Hayz gave her a comforting smile, removed the breaks from her wheelchair and indicated silently for the boy to follow her, eventually stopping at the entrance to the Great Hall. Turning to face him, and putting the breaks on again, sorrow could easily be seen behind green eyes. He was younger than she, and yet by the looks of things was going out to fight... how had it all come to this? How come children were going out to fight against Danawi?
Nodding silently, her eyes swept the room again. Some of the younger children were trying to stop the tears from falling, others were comforting their friends, and some of the others were too scared to show any emotion at all. "Yes, they are," Hayzie explained, some of her own fear beginning to show as she looked back at him. Although she couldn't let any of the younger children see, she too was scared. "It would be better to keep them all together until all this is over... and if he tries to come in here... hopefully they'll be outnumbered," the blonde tried to explain. As her words finished four more Slytherins appeared. Hayzie took their names and year, before directing them over to their house table. "What about you? It looks like you're heading out to face them all?"

As he followed the older girl to the doors that he had just recently came through, Forgoil's eyes searched the Great Hall only to find that more children were still coming in. He had no idea to how many children there were in Magical Horizons, but with so many innocents crowded into the Great Hall...it became quite a target.
Stopping next to the older girl, Forgoil became stiff when she talked about if the followers were to get this far. How could a bunch of first years, as many of them as there were, even hope to stand up against Danawi's followers? He still had some doubts that he would even make it through the night, but the doubts he had for the children certainly out weighed his own.
"We can only hope that he doesn't make it this far; if these children are forced to fight; it could become a slaughter.", said Forgoil sagely, "Besides, there is always the chance that the followers will head somewhere else before coming here or that they will be beaten in the Entrance Hall". Forgoil tried to smile, but it died the moment he looked into the girl's eyes.
Sitting down on the cold floor next to the girl's wheel chair; Forgoil softly answered her question about him. "Yes. I am heading to the Entrance Hall to help where I can, but Professor Windwaltz doesn't know. I think that he would frown if a first year fought, but I'm 15 and I feel that the school has become my home and I don't plan to let anyone harm it."
Looking into the girl's green eyes, Forgoil said, "But I don't believe that we have met before this. Its shame really; seeing that we may never get to see each other again. I'm Forgoil Halifirien and you are?"

Hayzie nodded at Forgoil's words. If they made it this far, then no one knew what would happen. Outnumbered Danawi's followers would be, but when it came to skill, the opposition were undoubtedly stronger. "I won't let it become a slaugter," the Gryffindor promise confidently. One or two may find themselves at the wrong end of a spell meant for the opposition, but so long as the children were in her care, there was no way she would allow any of them to come to harm that she knew about.
"And if they bypass here if they get through the Entrance Hall, I'll get them out. Trust me, I know what I'm doing." Oh how this night reminded her of the night Michaela and a few others broke into the school. Then, she and Adhara had put the invisibility charm on so many Gryffindors that the charm had become engraved in her mind... though she was still unable to reveal this as the charm had not been revealed to the wizarding public... still.
Going back to the introductions, Hayz replied. "I'm Hayzie Roberts, one of the Gryffindor Prefects. It's a pleasure to meet you Forgoil," she smiled, resting a hand on his arm. "I'm sure we'll meet again. Good always defeats evil, no matter what the odds. Just concentrate... I know that you guys in the Entrance Hall can do it. You've got a good team of people behind you. Trust me," she explained, glancing around the Great Hall once more.

With the mention of good always defeating evil; Forgoil's mind whirled about; contemplating what Miss Roberts had just said. Yes; it always seemed that good won in the end, but not after evil had done so much that it ruined the lives of many. History showed this again and again, but some people just didn't seem to get it.
What would the cost of this battle be?, mused Forgoil, Would it be the little Ravenclaw girl that Hayzie comforted? Would it be the Slytherin boy that just came in? Or would it be all of them; this entire room?
Standing, Forgoil placed his hand on Hayzie's shoulder, saying, "I hope so too Miss Roberts; I am not worried about my compatriots for they can take care of themselves. But I am concerned; good over comes evil, but only at a great cost. What's to say that this won't happen here?"

Though the girl had not learned that many spells in her short time at the school during classes, Carmen had sought out (or rather they had asked her) help in her spare time, taking down mental notes in the Duelling Hall and taking note of the odd distracting spell; Hayzie's hair-changing one seemed to grow on the girl.
But that Gryffindore student and janitor that Carmen had first met in the Ministry had gravely changed, plasting a brave smile to help ease the youngest students of the school. She no longer had that bouncy, strong aura surrounding her wheel-chair supported form. The long navy cloak glazed over the floor of the room as she passed through the doors to the great hall, her hair commonly let down past her shoulders. A typical trait for such a different girl.
But in the Magic Horizons school, no one was different from another to a major extent. There was always someone who had another to look up to or to be best friends with. Totally different to the muggle schools she had attended all her life. Sapphire eyes scanned the small crowd of panic-ridden students, finally settling on familiar blonde hair. Once by her side, the Hufflepuffian grinned a little towards the other she had only met once. "Hello you two," she greeted.
"Hayz, I heard through the walls that you were going to 'learn' younger students to defend themselves." The sparkle in her eye had never really once faded, not with all the teasing and taunting recieved through her years, and would not begin to now. This glint hinted towards Hayzie that she would need to also be taught various hexes and curses. Though the spark spelt happiness, it was dragged down with the knowledge of a predicted, and happening, attack.
They would all have to pull through, otherwise another beginning for the girl would be shattered, along with others' hopes and dreams.

"There's nothing to say it won't happen here, Forgoil... nothing at all." Hayzie replied, knowing full well that her words were true. "But the least we can do is try and stop it from happening, isn't it? That's the whole point behind the movement in the Entrance Hall and everywhere else. "We'll manage, I'm sure." With a small smile, Hayzie looked up just in time to see Carmen enter the Great Hall.
Nodding in confirmation of what Carmen had asked, green eyes looked around the hall again. Were they all going to listen to her? Luckily, the blonde knew the first years would know at least some simple defense spells, but to work on them until the time came... if the time came, would do a bit more good than simply letting them run once the coast was clear.
To her, it all seemed like organised chaos.
"I'm going to have a go... but they all seem too scared to want to learn anything," Hayzie answered, looking up to Carmen with a sense of despair hidden behind confident green eyes.

"Fear...it is a powerful thing, is it not?" A voice said from the darkness.
As the doors to the Great Hall opened to permit a student inside, a shaft of light fell on the faerie's face. It revealed violet eyes filled with sadness, yet they were serene like the surface of a lake. There was also a burn mark, interrupting his otherwise smooth features. "It can control you," he continued. "Freezing one in place at the most inoppurtune moments." He stepped forward, his figure not quite reaching the six foot mark. "The sense of despair lies heavily here, yet there is also a grim determination to defend at any cost. There is always hope, miss," he addressed the prefect.
Reassurance and calm seemed to radiate from this dragonfly-winged faerie. He bowed to the others present. "Please excuse my intrusion."
