Ace wobbled a bit, trying to keep himself upright - but to no avail. The Vampire fell into the snow face-first, getting a mouthful of it. Growling, but with a sly smile on his flawless features, he propped himself up, covered in snow - snow that wouldn't melt on his equally cold skin. He eyed Kiki, his own eyes twinkling as mischieviously as hers, and turned onto his side instead of his front, facing her.
People all around them were glancing, with raised eyebrows and shaking their heads. Noticing, Ace chuckled - he was aware that there were faces peeking out of the grubby windows of the Hog's Head to get a better look at the Vampire and the Ministeress, fallen in the snow - but he couldn't care less. How is it that he never managed to feel this way unless Kiki was involved? So carefree...
"Well isn't this nice," said Ace, grinning, picking up a handful of snow and throwing it at Kiki.

Kiki burst out laughing at the sight of snow covered Ace and her hand flew to her mouth in an attempt to stifle her laughter. It barely worked and she followed Ace's quick glance for a moment to figure out what he was looking at. Grinning at the people looking on, she decided that she didn't care what they thought of her, the Ministeress on the ground in the snow with a Vampire. Most thought she was a figurehead Ministeress anyway and did no work. She turned her gaze back to Ace and instinctively closed her eyes as a snowball landed squarely in her face.
Kiki shook the snow from her face, still laughing and instead of rummaging around in the snow to try and fight back, she began to yell just loudly enough to attract more curious attention but not to bring the entire village of Hogsmeade running to see what was happening.
"Help! I'm being attacked! Attacked by a ruthless, but devilishly handsome Vampire! Oh woe is me!" Ki's words were punctuated by laughter and she collapsed back into the snow, well and truly gripped by a fit of giggles. She composed herself and then turned her head to look at Ace before being enveloped by a fit of laughter again.

Ace laughed, playing up to the role of the wickedly ruthless but devilishly handsome Vampire. He laughed even harder when he saw mothers clutch their children a little tighter, and people who walked alone crossed the street to avoid them - because, clearly, they must be insane.
He relaxed back into the snow, which was providing a comfortable enough cushion for him, and glanced at the fairly hysterical Ki. He was suddenly overcome with the urge to put his arms around her... but why? Where had that come from? Looking away quickly, Ace placed his hands behind his head, laying back, keeping them at a safe distance from the girl who was rolling around with a giggling fit.
"You know, you're going to get me into trouble, you are," scolded Ace lightly, the light from the streetlamps casting his face into a fluroscent yellow glow. "Someone will think I actually am attacking you." He grinned.

Kiki stopped laughing at that and sat up so she was sitting next to his head and was looking down at him, a skeptical expression on her face and her left eyebrow raised. She blew at a strand of hair that had been made into a wet rope-like thing by the snow and ran a finger down it to squeeze out some of the water and melt the small flakes of ice that had settled themselves comfortably on it. After she finished being distracted by that pesky piece of hair, Kiki looked down at Ace in mock sympathy.
"Awww, poor Acey can't handle a bit of trouble, huh?" She teased him, using a nickname that she would either get away with or she would be attacked. In this light, Ace looked a little more tanned, a little less Vampiric. Not that she didn't like that about him - it was his arrogant Vampireness that made him such a stubbornly good friend. She unconiously bit her bottom lip for a moment before continuing with her teasing.
"And, of course, you'd be one of the Vampires that are stupid enough to attack a mere mortal in a public street, in front of a pub where any Tom, Dick or Potter can look out the window and see the attack taking place, huh?" She poked his shoulder and then her target of pokage moved from one shoulder to across his chest and to the other shoulder.
She paused and the grin fell from her face as she realised that she was dangerously close to kissing distance away from Ace's lips. Her heart thudded madly in her throat and she swallowed nervously, her eyes moving quickly from his eyes to his lips, knowing that this would probably be the only moment that she could ever get this chance again.
Deciding 'To Hell with it!' Kiki leaned in the few inches that she hadn't yet covered and covered his icy lips with her own, which were only marginally warmer.
There was that electricrity there. The spark that she'd been supressing for so long was finally ignited into something more. It felt so right, so perfect. The nervousness disappeared and there was only the small twinge of insecurity, a small part of her that was waiting for him to push her off of him in disgust or shock.
But, for now, the chemistry between them was enough for Ki.

Ace grinned at Kiki's playful mocking, and laughed out loud when she poked him, eyeing her twinkling violet orbs with his own emerald gems. He saw, as if in slow motion, Kiki going to move away - but then stopping, her face, full of questions and doubt, hovering above his.
Knowing what was about to happen, a jolt of anticipation swept through him, and the tension hung like electric in the air between them. He couldn't even move, or utter a word, before Kiki brought her lips to meet his. Sparks flew, and before he knew it he had put both his arms around her, drawing her closer to him, getting so lost in the feeling of being so close to her that he completely forget the snow they were sitting in, and the eyes that were upon them. He kissed her with a strange kind of fierce tenderness - fierce because this had been brewing between them for months, and to finally be here in each other's arms brought so much relief it was incredible; and tender because it was different, now. She wasn't evil. She wasn't somebody else. The real Kiki was sitting in a snowdrift in the middle of Hogsmeade in his arms, kissing him like there was no tomorrow.
And it was more wonderful than he could have ever imagined.

It was perfect. It was all so absolutely perfect. The kiss, the circumstances, the everything. The gentle way his arms wrapped around her body but the fierce longing in his kiss. The warmth pulsing through her body but the slowly melting snow blending into the material of her robes and clinging loosely to her legs. The soft coolness of his lips against the soft warmth in her own.
She loved every minute of it. And the best part about it was that she wasn't possessed, evil, half concious or disorientated. She knew that it was happening exactly now and she intended to remember every single moment of it.
Her hand moved up to touch his cheek and ended up running themselves through his hair, snaking themselves through the short scruffy blonde mess that Ace called hair. She twisted her fingers around the back of his head and lost herself in the bliss of the scenario unfolding around her. It was no longer any sort of distraction wondering whether it had happened, avoiding the notion of the strange chemistry that had always half been there but had come further into the limelight lately, wondering whether there truly had been an affectionate kiss on her forehead in the Lair when she'd been kidnapped. It was definately real, as real as it was that Kiki herself existed.
It was actually happening.

The relief and release swept over him in waves as he caressed up and down her back, occasionally twining a strand of her snow-soaked ebony hair around his fingers, his lips never leaving hers for more than a millisecond to be drawn back.
He could have kissed her forever. He knew better than anyone what eternity meant, and yet still he knew he could stay this way for the rest of his days. But he knew they would have to draw apart at some point - with every first kiss, the most dreaded moment is seeing what's in your lover's eyes as you pull away for the first time, whether it be lust or confusion or shock or even horror.
Ace wasn't sure which reaction he anticipated, but drew apart slightly, studying her face. In his own eyes were simply questions, a kind of wariness, knowing that they had opened a whole new chapter between them and only she determined the end now. He suddenly realised, however, that whilst he could lie in the snow for years on end and never feel a thing, such was not the case for Kiki, and before long she'd probably be at risk of pneumonia or something.
"We should get you somewhere warmer," said Ace, his voice low and still sparkled with passion, just like his eyes and the stars that were beginning to shine above them.

There was always a moment behind a kiss when it truly means something more than just a kiss. The moment you pull away and your eyes stay closed and your lips are tingling with the sudden lack of pressure and your entire body is almost shivering with anticipation. It was in this moment that Kiki found herself surrounded by, embraced by. Her eyes fluttered open and as they connected firmly with Ace's piercing emerald, her face broke into a shy smile. She enjoyed being this deliciously close to Ace and watching the cogs whirring away, possibly trying to find an adequate response.
The soft thrum of his voice brought back her senses and she realised that the shivering of anticipation was slowly moving into the realm of shivering of cold. Her robes were soaked and she leaned forward to steal another kiss before Ki shakily stood and cocked her head playfully to the side, a mischievious smile spreading across her face, echoing her one of earlier.
"So where's the warmest place you know of, Ace?"

Ace grinned, the relief he felt at knowing Kiki wasn't going to run from him or pretend it didn't happen washing over him like a welcome tide. He stood up, not even feeling the way his own wet clothes clung to his skin, and glanced over his shoulder at the Hog's Head.
"Well, I wouldn't say it was the warmest... but it's certainly the closest." He watched Kiki grin mischieviously, feeling rather giddy himself. He stepped closer to her and wrapped his arms around her, not sure how much warmth a soaking-wet Vampire could bring, but knowing that he needed to stay close to her, didn't want to stop being so close to her. He buried his face in her damp, sweet-smelling hair, then turned his head and rested it on her shoulder, before releasing his grasp on her and studying her face again.
"Hog's Head alright with you, then, love?" he asked, wondering what she was thinking, feeling, right now. There was so many voices in his head, all of them clamouring for his attention, trying to tell him he was being ridiculous, he was a Vampire, she was a human - but he ignored them all, the only person worth his attention was the snow-soaked one before him.

Kiki closed her eyes as Ace wrapped himself around her. She loved that everything had worked itself out favourably in the end. Even if this wasn't really the end yet - or at least Kiki hoped not. She stopped a cynical line of thought before it snaked its way into the forefront of her mind and turned her head to where Ace's sat on her shoulder, briefly kissing his cheek before he removed it and asked whether or not they should go inside.
She mock-pondered over his offer and sighed heavily, a resigned look falling over her face. "If it's the closest thing we've got, I suppose it'll have to do. So long as there's a fire I can warm up beside, I'm sure I can manage." Kiki flashed Ace a smile and took his hand in her own, bringing the palm to her lips and kissing it gently before smiling guiltily.
"Let's go in, shall we?"

Ace smiled back at Kiki, still lost in some spine-tingling anticipation that she had triggered in him. He closed his hand around hers and led her through the door of the Hog's Head.
They entered the dark, dusty pub and stood momentarily in the doorway, eyes adjusting to the dingy darkness. The barman rolled his eyes at the arrival of Ace with yet another lady friend in tow until he realised it was the Ministeress, at which point his eyes nearly popped out of his wrinkled head, and the hubbub of the locals in the pub died down a little as they inspected the unlikely couple.
Ace made his way toward the small, crackling fireplace and sat Kiki down by it, watching her closely to make sure she was alright and not dying of pneumonia without his noticing. He absent-mindedly ran his fingers through her wet hair and glanced over to the bar.
"Do you want a drink, love? Firewhisky to warm up your insides, or are you okay?"

The silence was to be expected. The rapid fall of noise that followed a strange event could surely be applied to the arrival of a Vampire and the Ministeress, acting quite cozily with each other. Kiki didn't care. Her fingers were curled firmly through Ace's and that was all the strength she needed. The Daily Prophet or Witch Weekly could come and take a million photos, splash the story across their tabloids and kick the entire scenario into a scandalous love affair.
Kiki couldn't have cared less.
She followed Ace toward the fireplace, beginning to feel the first tinges of numbness in her legs. The fires warmth rushed over her and she let out a sigh of relief as she was sat down as close to the flames as she could get without catching on fire. An involuntary shiver ran carelessly through her body as Ace reached up and slid his fingers though her hair. It felt nice, it felt perfect. Nothing had made Kiki feel this special in a long time.
"I think the occasion calls for something a with a little more zip than usual. I'll take a Firewhisky, thanks love," Kiki rubbed her hands together and put them over the top of the flames, giving a meaningful glance to the table next to her that was still staring at the couple. As if on cue, the entire pub dove back in to its usual raucous chaos and took the attention from Ki and Ace.

Ace grinned. "Zip it is," he said, and wandered off to the bar, where Abe was still staring at the Vampire incredulously.
"I'd like two firewhiskies please, Abe," said Ace, his tone indicating that he was not in the mood to discuss his present company. But Abe refused to move, and glanced at Kiki before leaning in and whispering to Ace, ".. You do know who the girl is, doncha?"
Ace fixed the barman with his most penetrating stare. "Yes. Now, my drinks please."
Within moments the barman had given Ace his drinks, through mumblings and mutterings about the follies of letting such Vampires board here, asking for trouble, what did he think he was doing, etc. Ace took the drinks without so much as another glance towards Abe, and returned to where Kiki was sitting, shivering ever so slightly. He handed one glass to her and then sat down opposite her, clasping his own.
He lifted his eyes to meet hers, green eyes that were dancing in the firelight. "So... here's to us," he said, with a slight smile, and raised his glass.

Kiki took the glass gratefully and saw the sparkle in Ace's eyes. It was as though a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders - she no longer had to worry about what Ace might've thought when she did this or what she was supposed to think when Ace did that. There had been moments when she had seen glimmers and flashes of affection and interest behind his gorgeous eyes but had always managed to ignore it, to try and quash the hope that she felt.
Now everything was happening as she had hoped it would and although she knew that it wouldn't last an eternity, she had to enjoy the present and forget about the future. Smiling now, she raised her glass to connect gently with Ace's, colliding with a brief ring and then took a sip and exhaled contentedly as the burning liquid raced through her body and then screwed up her face as the aftertaste kicked in.
"Ergh, I forgot how foul that stuff can taste," She laughed as she said it and glanced around the pub again, aware that most of the people within it were still glancing over to the pair by the fireplace and talking about it in excited whispers. More annoyed by the fact that the usually disinterested-in-anything-besides-what-they-have-to-say patrons of the Hog's Head weren't going to give them any privacy more than anything, Kiki shifted a little in her seat and put her glass on the table in front of her, before turning to the fire and shaking out her hair to encourage it to dry a little.

Ace, too, glanced and saw the patrons of the pub eyeing them with a dangerous degree of interest. He looked back at Kiki and realised that while the locals chatter didn't affect him in any way, shape or form, this wasn't the case for Kiki - as Ministeress, being here with Ace like this was going to cause some sort of kerfuffle somewhere down the line.
Ace reached out and gently took her hand. "Hey... do you want to disappear upstairs? At least we won't be listened to there. And if you want, I can grab a bottle of something from Abe..."
He raised an eyebrow, still grinning slightly. On the one hand, he wasn't sure if it was the wisest decision to invite Kiki up to his room, especially now that the floodgates had been opened on the tension that had been building between them. But then... what other choice did they have, if they wanted privacy?
The Vampire reached out a hand and ran his hand through Kiki's soaked hair, the drips catching on the ends of his fingers, his other hand still holding hers loosely. "So, whaddya say?" he asked, for some reason feeling nervous about her response. What the hell did she do to him...
