Fate had heard of the splendor of the Lake and he decided he had to see it for himself at least once in the first night he was here. He felt it would make his first day here end with a pleasant outlook on the castle. It toke him a bit but he managed to slip out of the castle unseen, which was actually far easier then he thought it would be. It turned out that the students where not monitored as much as with other schools, this school treated you as a adult and expected to behave as one.
Fate felt a little bad about sneaking out to go to the lake but it was not like he planned any wicked deed he just wanted to sit in the moonlight. He found his way to the lake easily, not that you could miss the giant glass pool on the grounds. As he neared he saw the water laying perfectly still, like a mirror.
Fate found himself on his knees a short time later looking into this large mirror. He ran his hand threw his snow colored hair and wondered what his mother was doing now. She had been ill when he left but nothing worse then the flu she had assured him. He worried about his mother she was the only family he had left sense his dad died a year ago and he had hated to leave her.
He smiled as he remembered her shoving him onto the train that brought him here even though he had fought for her to stay at home and rest. He brushed his fingers over the surface of the watter causing ripples to run to the shore and out into the moonlight where they slowly seemed to meld back into the glass pool.
He pushed back and sat on his butt as he stared across the lake. He had to admit the kids where right this lake was wonderful and it seemed to hold a spell on the mind of the person who looked into it. The full moon's light looking eerily beautiful reflected off the lake. Fate smiled as he lay back on his hands staring off into the calm water thinking.

The silhouette of a moving figure in the distance could be seen, if one was watching, drifting beneath the light of the moon on occasion, before disappearing into shadow again. It was heading at a liesurely pace, coming from the direction of the Forbidden Forest, and there, illuminated under the full moon entirely now, could be seen the formation of a she-wolf.
Her tongue lolled lazily from her mouth, and those jaws - stained with blood from her latest victim - hung open widely, revealing row upon row of dangerously sharp, almost glinting crimson canines. Her eye sockets were encrusted with gems of amethyst, each dappled with silver flecks quite similar to the stars above.
The furry chest of the she-wolf was stained with blood, one could see as she drew closer and closer to the lake, her graceful form relaying the sight of her thick tail as it swam side to side in the air, inches above the earth. Finally she reached the shore, having picked up the scent of the boy nearby, but having no intention of making any motion toward him until she had cleaned up.
So, Rogue pawed the edge of the water in hesitation, before slowly wading out into the shallows and walking about a little, letting the salty water soak into her pelt. She dipped her muzzle into the lake a few times, lapping up the cool, refreshing water, and cleaning her muzzle in the process. Upon satisfying herself that she was clean enough, she padded back out onto the shore and shook her pelt roughly, before sitting back on her haunches and beginning to pat down every silky layer of fur with her leathery tongue.
From her actions as of late, this boy was lucky the lycaness was satiated.

Fate froze for a moment the moment he saw the glint of white in the moonlight. It was eerie how this form seemed to meld so perfectly with the shadows and then appeared to glow in the moon light. It was easily seen that the form was that of a wolf or a wolf like being. Fate hadn't had much experience with Lycans or Werewolves or even read much about them so he was unsure what this was but he was not going to approach the thing as it was covered in blood and he didn't want his added to the lot.
As the white wolf walked into the water of the lake he began to breath again only just realizing he had stopped. He tried to make the escape of held air slow as to not draw to much attention to himself he knew if the thing could kill he was most likely not going to win a fight with it and he had left his wand in the common room.
Fate's eyes were glued to the white pelt of this wolf as she cleaned herself of the blood she had spilt all over her muzzle and chest. The way it glinted in the moonlight startled him was it the blood of the water now that caused it to glint. He moved a little from the lake not wanting to disturb this beautiful creature and end up a late night snack.

Rogue was listening intently to every move the boy made, every sound he uttered - such as the breath he tried so very hard to conceal with silence - and every telepathic thought that might pass her way. She could feel eyes on her, and she revelled in the attention, coating her smooth pelt until all the minute strands of snow-white fur blended together neatly and nearly dry.
Suddenly the boy began to move, and Rogue's ears raised above her skull and swivelled to point in his direction, her muzzle soon following suit. Those lilac-grey eyes narrowed on the boy and her ears slowly settled back in a relaxed manner as she rose from her haunches and began approaching him; her paws treading silently along the lake's shore.
What is your name. She spoke into his mind, letting her bushy tail brush the ground a moment as she studied him from a meter's distance, before beginning to circle him curiously. Her jaws were closed firmly, her senses taking in his mortal scent and appearance. She padded quietly around behind him, then came back around in front of him and sat down, curling her thick wolven tail around her paws, waiting.

'What is your name.'
Those words filled Fate's mind for a moment stunning the boy. How could someone speak directly into his mind that just was not possible to do something like that. "Fate." He said softly his eyes looking into the wolf's lilac-grey eyes. He felt his breath catch in his throat as he did. He felt his every breath and move watched closely under her gaze.
He didn't dare move much further because he didn't know what he lycan would do. He figured that the voice in his mind was the alleged telepathic power lycans had. He worked to try to cloak his mind in case he might think something that would upset her. Thought what that would be or what would cause him to think something badly of her he didn't know.
He found her a wonderful creature that he was not afraid to show. She was something like he had never seen before. She seemed to be the embodiment of the white fire of the moon as that old line in the book 'The Vampire Lestat' called it. He found himself not so afraid as he tried to remain calm. "Whats your name?"

Ooc: I'll pretend she never appeared.
Ic: Fate. She let it dissolve to memory, his appearance too, his snowy hair and curious expression, the way he admired the night sky too. He couldn't be all as shallow as the others, she supposed, hopefully. She raised one of her forepaws, deciding whether to approach him again and take a morsel of fat from his torso, or perhaps his upper arm. They were always the juciest areas.
But alas, she distracted him with a question. One that wa so simple, but that had perhaps just saved his skin. Nobody ever knew a she-wolf's intentions. One moment she could be calm, the next she could be aggitated beyond all civil boundaries. Rogue had changed drastically over the past few days, and she bathed in the excitement of it all. It was brilliant madness at it's best.
Rogue. She answered simply, her voice an eerie touch to the corners of that innocent mind. This time, she pressed her paw back against the earth and tipped her ears forward, intrigued beyond all measures as to why she wasn't so set on mauling him to a ragged toy. Perhaps it was because she had just eaten. Yes, she would blame it on that, for now.

OOC: ok
Fate watched her for a moment as she moved her forepaws up as if to come closer but then stopped. She confused and intrigued him to a extend he was surprised about, she could easily tear him apart but she didn't. He relaxed slightly at the sound of her voice in his head again her name he assumed as it was the question he ask. "Rogue." He said aloud as if to test the sound of it out "you have a lovely name." He said kindly to her.
Her mental message seemed to be something so new to him and the way it sounded or felt in his mind startled him. She lowered her paw and shifted her ears forward as if to listen to him and he found himself wondering was that the purpose of her motions was she toying with him, trying to get him relaxed before the attack or was she honestly just as intrigued by him as he was of her.
He found himself still relaxed which gave him a bit of hope as she had not attacked on this body cue when she could so easily have. "How are you?" he ask her, the question had been asked a thousand times in his life and the life of so many people he knew but for some reason this simple phrase felt huge to him.

I don't know. Came her sharp, slight hiss of an answer, as her deadly gaze set itself like wrought iron on him. Yes, she could easily tear him apart, not kill him, but tear him apart so he would need urgent medical care, just like the girl in Hogsmeade. But the lycaness didn't move, yet. He called her name lovely, and now the lids of her eyes came together in what appeared to be a wolfish glare.
I don't see why. It's merely a title of what I am. She told him telepathically, her tone probably less welcome now that it held a sting to it. His expression showed wonder, intrigue, and fascination with her. And she used it. She graced the air with her tail to shift it momentarily, shrugging her shoulders back to raise her upper half proudly, the moonlight glowing off her radiant form. If he had never witnessed a lycaness before, why shouldn't this she-wolf be the one to show him exactly how amazing these creatures were.
It was incredible in itself, the way her stomach digested those three rabbits almost instantly after a drink to wash them down with. She was satiated before, and quite unwilling to even bother chasing another meal, but now? Oh, now her slim belly was almost craving more. It wasn't so much the full sensation she felt after a meal now, it was the taste of fear inside the victim.

'I don't know'
Those word filled his mind the cold tone startled him as it seemed to come from no where. The way she looked at him, was she thinking about how she could kill him or was she mearly annoyed. 'I don't see why. It's merely a title of what I am' the sting in her tone hit him like a scolding and he nearly flinched. Her following glare bothered him he had clearly upset her but what would happen now.
Fate tried to remain calm and toke a deep breath. The way she moved caught his attention. She now sat up on her back hunches her white pelt nearly glowing in the moon light. His eyes locked on hers for a moment trying to read them but could not read them like he could another humans.
"Did I offend you?" He ask her softly "I didn't mean to, I just meant that it was a nice name." He didn't break his gaze from her. He felt a little fear at what she could do to him but had saying her name was lovely enough to set her off?

Rogue was permanantly upset nowadays, not necessarily, sad, not necessarily angry, but always upset. The boy took a deep breath and Rogue's haunches tensed, god how she wanted to pounce and cut that breath short of him. Stay girl, just a little longer. Her mind coaxed her, easing her muscles to relax once more. Her thoughts were concealed from him, he wouldn't have heard a thing.
No. You'll know when you've offended me. She said icily, letting her dappled gaze catch the moonlight and light up slightly silver as she spotted the stars. Looking back to him, she tilted her muzzle to the side in her own time. She ignored the last of his words, and instead placed a question of her own up for him to answer.
Why are you out here this late? She said, her tone had simmered to a gentle hum now, calmer, cooler, and far more relaxed. Her those intense eyes never let up, even in the glance to the stars it was like she was still watching him, still waiting for him to give her a reason, any reason, to attack.

Fate watched her as she told him 'No, You will know when you've offended me' when she looked into the stars he still felt her gaze on him. He had caught the slight glimmer of emotions in her eyes when he had taken his breath the desire in it and he could guess what desire that was. He tried to relax so not to give her a reason to attack him.
'Why are you out here this late?'
His mind ran threw his reasons for being out this late he could lie but what good would it do. "I just arrived at the school today, I heard this place was wonderful so I came to look for myself." He broke his gaze from her and looked at the lake the silver glint of the moonlight on it forced him to close his eyes before returning them to her.
Something dawned on him the tone had changed. What was this feeling he was getting from her was it anger? no not anger to soft for that. He wondered what she could be feeling what had changed her tone to something calm and cool from that sharp and cold tone he had heard seconds before. "Is this your home?" He ask suddenly realizing that he might be trespassing, that the students had played a joke on him thinking he would never go to the lake.

He was well aware of his actions, she would give him that much. Whenever she released a view of what she was thinking, he was quick smart to show he meant no harm, although it was rather a shame to conclude that that wouldn't make any difference in the end, if she did in fact decide to go another meal tonight. He explained why he was down at the lake, and she nodded her muzzle briefly. Finally he broke her gaze and looked out at the lake, and she took this opportunity to walk her forepaws forward and lay down on her belly, curling her tail around her side once more. "Is this your home?" Rogue was surprised that he asked this. Clearly he was indeed very new to the school, and a little naive at that. She didn't answer right away, for there was no need, they had all night, or she did anyway. And not only that, but she wasn't so sure on the answer. Perhaps it was about time she did start calling these different locations of Magic Horizons home? No. It just didn't feel right. No. I have no home. She answered simply. Her telepathic tone was plain, emotionless, and impeccably hard to read. Her gaze, however, restated the fact that she was a rogue lycaness, and should he ask why, she would raise herself off the shadowed shore and suddenly find a place for him in her stomach beside those three rabbits.

Fate watched Rogue for a long moment as she told him she had no home. He should have realized Rogue meant that she had no family but he had assumed she had no clan or pack not a home. He looked down for a moment thinking carefully about his next choice of words so as not to upset her any further then he had already.
"I am sorry you have no home." He said in spite of his better knowledge to keep his mouth shut about family life and personal matters.
He watched Rogue lay on her belly and the moon glinting off her snowy hide. He felt odd sitting here with her watching her like that. He turned his body slowly to face the lake easier and looked out onto the lake "It is beautiful isn't it?" he said watching the silvery light reflection on the lake.
OOC: sorry for the crappy post I can not think right now

It could have gone around in circles, and she could have told him not to apologise for something he couldn't control or that he hadn't caused. But she didn't, she remained silent instead, watching the outskirts of the forest far, far behind him. Mist swirled around the edges of the forest eerily, and she let her gaze relax, comforted by the sight of the wood.
"It is beautiful isn't it?" He said, and she let air escape her muzzle slowly, almost unappreciative of her surroundings. Sure, it was beautiful, but only when people let it be beautiful and didn't taint it with mortal words to try and describe it. Or that's what she felt anyway. In some ways. She replied quietly, hardly bothered with explaining this to the boy.
Do you enjoy being human? She asked suddenly, fixing him with her violet stare once more. It was a simple question really, but the answer could go on for much longer, she knew. She was interested, for she never knew certain points of enjoyment about the existence of them, and she had never bothered asking. So now, she would.

The sound of crickets could be heard chirping in the distance as they sat there at the lake side. The water a dead calm again just as it was before Rogue's arrival. He found it funny really the lake had been still as glass then this she arrived and stirred it up and now moments later it was the same again at least on the surface. He liked the feel of the wind in his hair as he listened to her speak back to him in thoughts. The tone of her mental voice was soft and quiet and it made him look at her.
Fate found her interesting to say the least of it. She was something beyond human and yet she was not a wild beast even though she looked it. When she ask her question 'Do you enjoy being human?' he raised a eye brow. Fate had never once thought of that question and he didn't think any human had. "Well I never honestly thought about it." his tone was soft his eyes moving down off her as he thought about it. "I guess I do I mean being Mortal sucks because you die and you leave the people you love behind and I guess knowing that people like me destroy places like this bites."
He felt awkward now that she had ask him that and he had given a answer that he felt was correct. Did he enjoy being Human? Would he change it if he could at birth? Most likely not the life lessons he learned would not have been learned otherwise. He looked back at her "I guess the answer is a I do not know." He said softly looking at the lake again. "but being human is what has made me who I am so I guess so to a level." He hated second guessing himself.
He looked at Rogue and felt the same question to her "Do you like being a lycan." He said softly not wanting to offend her. For some odd reason he never wanted to offend people who didn't offend him first. Rogue had scared him and still did a little but he didn't fear for his life at this moment and that let his body relax. "I don't mean to be rude of course but I just had to ask." he said quietly to her catching her eye again.
