Finally!
A momentary burst of happiness flooded Artemis before she turned back to her work. She was finding that it was getting increasingly hard to keep an eye out for the snitch, bludgers, the quaffle, and other players. She was trying though.
She couldn't help the sinking feeling she was getting inside. There was no way she was going the find the snitch in this chaos. Her weight shifted, and she threw herself into a loop-de-loop to calm her nerves. This was no time to lose it.

She could hear Lottie's voice in her ears and see that Nina was, quite literally, right on her tail. Flashing a smile towards Carmen to start aiming the bludgers that way, Faye then turned around to spot Forgoil flying right beside her. Smiling, she lightly tossed the ball to him- it was a fairly short distance for it to go, and if they timed it right, he might have the chance to score.
"Good luck." She whispered as she veered off his side and then back again, flying behind him to protect the goal they might get.

As Faye passed the quaffle to the grey-haired boy, Forgoil raced off toward the goalposts; his eyes afire and his hair streaming out behind him as a demon posessed. Closer and closer did he come to the goals and when he had reached the limit, Forgoil made a sharp left turn and threw the quaffle with all his might through the right hoop.
Letting out a sight of relief, Forgoil made his way back to his own side.

"Sh-" Carmen could have sworn, but held back her tongue. Were points taken from the house if they cursed? She wasn't going to take the chance. But the prefect couldn't keep missing all her bludgers. Carmen was going to make sure of that.
Veering a little off course, another bludger swooped over the top of Forgoil, which Carmen met with her bludger, missing him twice, heading straight at the slytherin prefect. On her way off, she patted him on the back for the goal.

Wyl’s eyes were flickering frantically in every direction – he wanted to catch the Snitch and win the game for Hufflepuff. But then, everyone wanted the same thing he did, simply for a different house. He pushed his glasses a little higher up his nose – a strange thing, really, considering that at the speeds he’d been going he didn’t really need to push up his glasses – and surveyed the Pitch again. There was nothing out of the ordinary, just your average Slytherin waving the Beaters bat, Puff Chasers, sparkle of gold… Sparkle of gold? THE SNITCH! Wyl shot forward and bent low over the broom. Softly chanting ‘Come on! Come on!’ underneath his breath, he skidded around a Slytherin who tried to block his path and threw and arm out to catch the golden ball in front of him. His fingers closed around the cool metallic ball and with a roaring yell, Wyl triumphantly held up the Snitch. mgckalhrizn.proboards35.com/index.cgi?board=hogsmeade&action=display&thread=1094390139

A golden glimmer shone in the corner of Artemis' eye. Her heart rate shot up as she did an abrupt turn and shot towards it. Nothing else mattered. Her eyes watered, she was going so fast. Minor bolts of pain jolted her as she felt a bludger hit her leg, but she didn't care. She faltered only a moment before resuming her mad dash down the field. Just a few seconds later, the small golden ball lay struggling in her hand. She let out a whoop of triumph and held it up for all to see. mgckalhrizn.proboards35.com/index.cgi?board=hogsmeade&action=display&thread=1094390139

"YES YES YEEES!!!!"Carmen screamed triumphantly. Hufflepuff had won once again! Zooming straight for the closest hufflepuff player, she glomped him or her around the waist in happiness. And all the better, she was there to actually watch it, let alone play it!
"Good game all!" She cried out.

A goal was scored and the Golden Snitch had been caught. The game was over. Hufflepuff had won the game. For the last time that night, Claire placed her wand at her throat and voiced the final score. “TEN POINTS TO SLYTHERIN, 180 POINTS TO HUFFLEPUFF! HUFFLEPUFF WIN!”
Claire brought her broom down to the ground and looked up at the cheering crowds and at the disheartened Slytherins.

It was all over so quickly. All of a sudden, she noticed that Forgoil had scored and that Wyl was holding the Snitch- they had won! Oh.. my.. god. They had won. The first game that she had ever played had turned into a victory, regardless of how many goals she had personally scored. Wyl was the seeker king. He could probably find that little gold ball in a hailstorm.
"WYL!" She screamed, turning her broom around to face him and then she enveloped him in a huge bear hug. Her feet barely hung onto her own broom as she embraced the beloved seeker, more proud of him than ever before.

ooc: Whoa that was close.
ic: And it was over. Breathing a large sigh of relief as Wyl caught the snitch, Artemis hot on his tail, words for once failed the usually hyperactive girl. Thank gods she thought to herself simply hover to the sides. Last time, she had asked if she had to play again. This time she knew the answer. She had scored not once, but twice... maybe they'd keep her on the team for good.
Examining the brissles on her broom, the brunette girl shook her head and tidied her hair up a little, waiting for the rest of the celebrating team to descend.

Hot tears stung Artemis' eyes. They had been so close! She could still feel the snitch brushing against her fingertips, just before it had been snatched away. Arms trembling, she raised one hand to the eyes to wipe away the tears of dissapointment, and willed herself not to cry. It wasn't working very well.
The corners of her mouth turned up just a little bit when she saw her classmates on their feet, shouting boos. Deep in her heart, she knew the 'Puffs had won fairly, although her mind was coming up with tons of absurd ways they could've cheated. She disheartedly shouldered her broom and swept her hair out of her eyes.

Galanor stood up in the stands and gave a loud groan. What? She'd only been here a few days, and she'd witnessed her team fail a quidditch match. Against HUFFLEPUFF! She thought rather angrily. Sulking, she sat back in her seat and quieted herself, still very dissapointed. But, it was a fair game... She gave a halfhearted clap as she watched the players on the field and in the air, the Hufflepuffs rejoicing and the Slytherins, much like herself, sulking.

Well that was it then; this year's team had held up to the Hufflepuff legacy. They had emerged victorious but by only the slightest of margins. It was left a matter of which seeker got to the Snitch first, and hearing the shouts from his teammates; Wyl had been the first one to make it. Hearing the Headmistress, Forgoil was somewhat disheartened to hear her say that it was Slytherin that had scored the last point when it was really him, but that didn't matter all too much.
What mattered was that they had won their match. Looking at all his teammates; all full of smiles and seemed that they would burst with happiness, the normally reserved Scot couldn't help but let out a chortle but that was soon magnified. He didn't notice that Carmen was behind him as the match ended and nearly fell off his broom as he was hugged from behind. Letting his laughter ring out clearly as the rain, Forgoil turned so that he could hug Carmen as well in this moment of happiness. But it wasn't long before he remembered that there was another party that needed a hug.
Gently letting go of Carmen, Forgoil swooped down to where his furry companion had taken up residence. Hopping off of his broom when he was 5 feet above the ground, Forgoil scooped up Rawnblade the Badger and soon the badger started squirming so much that he made Forgoil collaspe to the ground with a fit of laughter. Hugging the badger as his face was continuely licked, Forgoil gleefuly said, "Oh you rascal you! What? Do you think that you have won the match yourself with all your excitement? Well, you sure helped for one thing. Well mate; it looks like we might have a long day of celebration ahead of us. Think you can handle it?"
As Rawnblade let out a little growl of approval, Forgoil let out one last laugh before closing his eyes; suddenly feeling a bit tired. My; what a day this had been.
