OK... as you know, I'm leaving for a while. But before that, I have a final idea of how to get MH booted up again.
These boards have been a breeding ground for contempt, b****ing and gossip. MH seemed to have divided into two sides, and indeed it had - but now one side of the two halves has taken it's leave, hopefully leaving us with room to grow as a community without the arguments and disagreements we all had before. I hereby propose that we leave the boards and progress to a new forum - exactly the same in every way apart from the fact it'll be new - and start over. Leave behind all the bad memories.
What do you all think of this? If you'd rather stay then we'll stay, but I believe that a fresh change would do us more good than harm.

I'm a new member to your site and I would just like to say that I think it is great. Hayzie introduced me.
Its none of my business but I was just wondering what you mean about all the bad memories? I really like this site and dont want it to stop.
Did someone do something really bad or something?

The site would still be the same, it would just be new forums. So it'd be just like a fresh, clean slate.

Personally, I think it would be a good idea. Since we moved from conforums, this site has become a breeding ground for all the things WR said in her post, whereas before, it was somewhere people could go to escape and just have a good time with people they can make new friends with and spend their time having fun role playing. I’m not naming names or anything, but when we first moved, there was a LOT of OOC posts, a lot more of those than there were IC posts, and I think that was what started it all off. Admittedly, this has improved since the IC and OOC post rules came about, but it still happens, people still b***h about other people’s posts IN the thread.
I don’t see why people can’t take these things into IM’s, because that’s what they’re there for, to allow you to talk to others privately without everyone else seeing. I know I’ve given some people tips through this to try and avoid all of the arguments, and it’s helped a lot.
But that’s just my opinion…<br> -hands the spoon over to the next person-

I think it's a good idea - but, will it really work? I think we might as well go a step further and change it - really make it new. 'Cause if you keep it the same, it'll just look like you've deleted all the posts, and it's still the same place.
But I personally agree with Hayley - it was right after we moved that we seemed to go downhill. So will this really be a good idea? Or will moving just disrupt everything again?
well, that's my two cents. Take them or leave them, it won't matter either way.

lol, I'm coming. Hm... Well really, I don't know whether or not moving the boards again would make a difference, that's all in what we decide to do, no matter where the forums are. Really, as long as people agree to get their acts together--more IC and less OOC posting, and less being argumentative, I think we could have the same effect just staying here. Oh, and I think part of the "OOC post boom" was people trying to get their posts back up after the move and being lazy about it, so I don't know, we might have a repeat scenario... Heh, I'm not very articulate right now... Anyway, I'm not saying I'm opposed to it, I just don't know whether or not it makes much difference in the grand scheme of things. It's more about what we do than where we go...make sense?

Although I've been here for a short time, I believe that it would be a good idea. You're right about all the b****ing and it needs to be burned with the rest of the rubbish this place has collected. From my point of view, the Muggle World is the breeding ground for all the trouble that has been rendering roleplayists un-amused and angered. Perhaps when you make the new site you shouldn't have the Muggle World be an OOC board. Just a suggestion, it would make people role play instead of wasting space, time, and worry on the OOC threads that seem to cloud the reason we are all here: to roleplay.
Nothing is wrong with brief statements out of character on boards...and PM's are also for the purpose of OOC discussion. On another site I rp on, one of the rules is that if the Administration see more OOC than IC posting, they lock the OOC discussion boards for a period of time. Good idea or not?

This would probably only help for a little short while. Most people can't help but argue over something that isn't worth aruging over and want to chat more then they do roleplay. I have been seeing around here that a lot of people are getting bored here because of the lack of roleplaying and they tend to want to chitchat or leave MH.
What Mable has just said is very true indeed, most of the 'OOC:'s" are spreading from the muggle world, and most of it is complete non-scence that could be discussed over the PMs. We should have more IC's in here then OOC's, this is a roleplaying site, no? And I have been seeing a lot of the roleplayers were really trying to post long posts, while others don't do more then just a mere sentence or two. I know that sometimes I don't write a lot for posts but I try to post and have people read what I say and RP a long with me. Some people arn't even wanting to read a lot of the long posts anymore because of all the little posts that are flocking around MH, making them too lazy to read anything else but little posts. The new boards would be good to give MH a fresh start again, have newer rules for OOC though since everyone is so pron to use it. If you think that starting this place over again would be a good idea, I say hey go for it but you will have to be careful about the OOCers.
Well...There is what I have to say I guess, I hope everything turns out alright for MH in the end and that we can get back to roleplaying again and have less OOC posts....Thank ya, good bye.

Sorry for the double post Nevermind! Thank ye Celebrian! On second thought...
...Maybe you should just change this site instead of going through all the extra work of build an entirely new one. Just change the colors, add a few new boards, delete the problem ones and there you have it! Another idea for you to ponder on.

That seems like a good idea, Mable and your welcome. I like that idea but there is still a lot of risks of keeping this one of having OOC's keep being consistant....Let's just hope that it all will change sometime soon....

*Nods in Agreement* It'll take work either way. Nothing comes easy, but I'll help as much as I can. The funny thing is, this is the most OOC I've spoke with this character! Hope to help you out Rose!
