That second the girl had come nose-to-nose with Cedric, he flinched back only slightly, waiting for her to slap him across the face. He was turning nineteen, she was turning sixteen, how could anything bad happen? "I..." he managed to force out. All of a sudden the man grew tired. Very tired, and so lost his sense of caring what she knew.
"I like you..." Cedric muttered, averting his eyes to his crossed knee and beginning to fiddle with the shoe-lace of his right shoe. He looked at the shoe so intently you'd think he was studying it for a SAC. His eyes flicked to meet hers for only a split second, then darted back to where they were.

"Y-you.." she muttered, not able to get it out.
Falling back on the heels of her feet, she stared at him for long moments. The silence stretched uneasily, filling her with tension. Rubbing her temple, she felt the first dregs of a major migraine kicking up.
How she just wanted to stand up and runaway. Certainly it'd be easier, less complicated. But if there was one thing she'd learned during her short existence, it was that you could never run from your problems. They would always catch up with you.
"But you hate me." she finally choked out, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Still keeping his eyes away from hers, he shook his head. "Far from it" was the most blunt reply he could have said. Well. Not really. But he did anyway. Cedric began to tug and pull at his shoe-laces, undoing them and then tying them back up.
God, the situation was horrible. One part of him didn't care what she thought, the other wanted to know how she felt. But still he sat there not saying anything.

"Far from it." she repeated "Far from it..?"
Her lips set into a slightly hysterical smile. He didn't hate her? Far from it, he'd said. But why had he never said anything before? What if he was just making all this up. Trying to get her on his side so it'd be easier to take Maki-chan away. The smile slipped smoothly fro mher features, a sad frown taking it's place.
"If you don't hate me then why have you always treated me like the dirt under your shoes?" she asked, placing a finger under his chin, forcing him to meet her turbulent gaze.

That's what caught his gaze. His eyes flipped quickly from the shoe to her sparkling orbs, staring hard and questioningly, "Do you honestly think I ever wanted you to know?" The clear scaredness of Cedric shining through his features, spilling out the time he had felt like that for her.
"I was so scared you'd never speak to me, that I'd scared you off." And still am he thought quietly to himself. What did she think of all this? Oh he hoped they'd still be able to talk. And that she wouldn't tell his sister. He would do that in time.

"You hopeless fool." she said. The words could have been an insult, but the mile-wide smile that curled her lips undid the insult in them.
He'd been scared to scare her away. The robot wasn't as secure as he'd like everyone to believe. Knowing this gave her back a bit of the confidence she lost everytime she was near him. Letting her hand fall to her side, she scrutinized him silently.
"You wouldn't have scared me off." she answered softly, lowering her gaze to the floor her hands fidgeted nervously with one of the chains on her jeans "You wouldn't have scared me off because I like you too, always have. It's the only reason I've put up with your rude remarks this long."

Cedric's mouth opened, then closed almost like a fish breathing. He had picked up on the hints, but he thought they were just as they were. Hints. Nothing more. He was so glad that they were at least friends before he had told her. With other girls they were some he didn't even know...
Boy was that hard. "You like... me?" That was so difficult to understand. How could she like him if he was such a prick to her and everyone else around?

"Shocking, isn't it? That I could like someone who was always so awful to me. I always knew there was more to you than the act you put on, I even saw some of those rare moments when you weren't acting like Robo-Ced." she replied, a faint smile tuging at her lips.
Gathering up her courage she lifted her gaze to meet his, lopsided smile in place. Hands moved restlessly, twisting and turning the long chain. The minutes seemed to tick by; tick, tock, tick, tock. Finally breaking the silence she said "I'm surprised you didn't already know, it was very obvious."
ooc: Robo-Ced ^__^

The shock still hadn't fully set in, but it was there. There enough for him to notice and pick at it. "I noticed, but I thought you were merely teasing," he admitted reluctantly, going back to fiddling with his shoe-lace. Had they moved closer to eachother?
The gap between them looked strikingly smaller. Had Aly used some sort of spell to move them closer together? Suddenly he grew a little freaked out by the fact she could do any spell she liked at any time without him noticing, but quickly calmed himself down.
"Is that why you saved me?"

"I was teasing. You know what they say, if there's someone who's always teasing you and finding ways to annoy you, it's because they like you." she said with a frustrated chuckle.
She didn't need a spell to get closer. All she had to do was to take advantage of his distracted manner, inching forward slowly. Another inch and another; the space seperating them was now cut back to half it's original size. A small smirk was threatening to spread over her features, but she managed to keep it in check.
Aly swallowed a smart retort, not completely willing to admit anything more. Nodding, she answered "I couldn't let you die in that forest. I'd have gone insane if you had."

A long, heavy sigh left Cedric's nose. He honestly didn't think anything would come from being there. Nothing would happen even though he just spluged his soul. She was a lot younger than he, yet it felt like they were the same age.
There was one word that got caught in his throat as soon as she mentioned going insane if he had died. "Why?" If she had liked him all this time, why didn't she just say so? It would have been a hell of a lot easier than the awkward silences that were happening.

"Why what? Why would I have gone insane?" she said, sighing in resignation. It was about time they spilled their beans. He had spilled all of his, now it was her turn.
"The answer to that is easy. I couldn't picture a world without your pompous personality." she answered, flashing a slight grin "Or did you mean why didn't I tell you sooner? I guess for the same reason you didn't tell me. I was afraid to scare you away, add that to the fact that I always thought you hated me.."
She left off with a shrug. There was no point in asking for reasons why anymore, it was in the past. And the past couldn't be changed. Rubbing the back of her neck, she wondered what would happen now. What would be the next step? She was, indeed, younger than him; but females were always said to mature quicker than males, so she figured they were even intellectually.
"So what do we do now..? Do we pretend like this never happened and go back to the way we used to be? Do we avoid ever seeing each other again?" she asked, giving voice to her thoughts.

The first thing that he had thought to do is scream and yell at the girl in his vicinity. God he hated the school. If anyone with their age gap chose to have a relationship in the real world, it wouldn't have been accepted. There didn't appear to be a different from what he had seen.
He stayed erupted in thoughts cataclismically exploding around him for a fair few minutes. Time was slowing down. In all honesty he wanted to sweep her into his arms and forget about the world. Run away. The barrier of not knowing about her feelings told him that there was no way that could happen. "Everyone won't accept us. They're all assholes when it comes to things like this."
"I should know. I'm one of them." Sure. He knew it. But that didn't mean he would stop being the prick he was. It was the way he had chosen to show everyone up that they all hated. It was because he was better than them all, and Alyson was one of the few like him.

"First of all, since when have I cared about the mighty 'everyone'? They can be assholes all they want, I'll just turn them into frogs if they get too bothersome.." she answered, half-joking half-serious.
"I should know. I'm one of them."
"Oh yes, that you are.. Yoga and meditation could always clear up your disposition." she answered "But I wouldn't recommend it; your high and mighty prick attitude is a part of your charm." A cheeky grin worked it's way onto her lips, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. With her gaze so serious and the grin, it would be hard to tell if she was joking or not.
And she meant every word. His prick-ness was part of his charm, and she wouldn't want him any other way. But now that she knew he didn't hate her, she'd refuse to allow him to use his snobbishness as a shield against her. They didn't have to be together if he didn't want them to be, though she did want that, but he would at least be her friend. Sarcastic, uncooperative, what ever- he'd just have to deal that this particular charade was over.
ooc: Eek... you've brought Ced-dy back from the inactive pile!!! Yay! -glizomps-
Oh, and sorry for the s***-ta-cular post; I can't think..
